Building the dictionary with React was challenging, but it has also been a steep learning curve, and I’m proud of how much I’ve learned. I can 100% recommend SheCodes React Add-on!💯

It's great that we can use the SheCodes APIs, and I've enjoyed building this project a lot, but again, the React workshops are so out-of-date that I've used other resources in an attempt to make a more modern build using Vite and TailwindCSS to practice something new.

I feel the pace of this course went too quickly. The advanced level of React requires multiple tries after continuous failings and retries. I don't have anything positive to say right now after being completely frustrated during the entirety of this course. Perhaps this is just not for me.

Completing the SheCodes Beginner class has been an incredibly empowering experience. As someone with little to no front end development background, I was initially nervous about stepping into it - but SheCodes made it approachable, fun, and genuinely exciting. I grew up around coding and computers because my dad is programmer/engineer. However, I never saw the luster behind understanding how a computer works and did everything to stay away from it. Learning JavaScript has definitely been challenging, but the course has met and even exceeded my expectations. Working through projects like the weather app pushed me out of my comfort zone, but also gave me the chance to really understand how functions, APIs, and the DOM come together. I came to SheCodes Basics with a frustrating problem: I could copy and paste code snippets and make things work, but I had no real understanding of why they worked or how to fix them when they broke. I was essentially a code copier, not a programmer. This surface-level approach left me constantly hitting walls. When something didn't work as expected, I'd spend hours trying random solutions from Stack Overflow without understanding the underlying logic. I could build functional pages by piecing together tutorials, but debugging felt like pure guesswork. SheCodes Basics changed that completely. Matt's teaching approach focuses on the "why" behind every concept, not just the "how." Instead of just showing us syntax, he explained the reasoning behind HTML structure, the cascade in CSS, and the logic flow in JavaScript. This foundational understanding was exactly what I'd been missing.Now when I encounter issues, I can methodically identify where things are going wrong instead of randomly trying solutions. I understand the connection between HTML structure and CSS selectors, why JavaScript functions behave certain ways, and how different parts of a webpage interact with each other. Building the tribute website for my Akita Inu, Sakura, became an exercise in applying these debugging skills in real time. When the background image wouldn't display or the responsive layout broke, I could systematically work through the problem instead of panicking. SheCodes didn't just teach me to code better - it taught me to think like a developer and search and solve problems with logic rather than luck.

I just submitted my project, and I can’t help but feel proud of how far I’ve come. When I started this journey, coding felt like a language I could never understand. But step by step, challenge by challenge, lesson by lesson, it started to make sense. SheCodes has not only taught me how to code, but it has also built my confidence, patience, and problem-solving skills. I’ve learned to celebrate small wins, push through errors, and trust the process. I’m so grateful for this experience; it has shown me that with the right guidance and community, growth is always possible. This project is more than just a submission; it’s proof of progress, dedication, and hope for what comes next.

Even though I already had prior experience with frontend development, the SheCodes Basics Add-on workshop was a great way to brush up my skills and get structured hands-on practice. This course was very similar to the Basics course, with small variations through adding new css features. It was quite repetetive and a bit slower paced than Basics. However, you still learn many incredibly useful features to use when styling a website. Therefore, I would definitely recommend this!

I have already recommended this workshop to many people. With SheCodes, my understanding of tech and my curiosity to expand my knowledge further have been well guided and fed. Providing plenty of learning space and encouraging deeper research, while also keeping an empathetic and friendly environment that differentiates it from bootcamps and schools that would try too hard and end up tiring and confusing learners unnecessarily. This course was incredibly useful because it helped me see myself through the eyes of a potential employer. I can see it being especially valuable for anyone just entering the industry. Having been a hiring manager in my previous role, I completely agree with the message being delivered: hiring managers are busy, don’t overcomplicate things. Point out what you’re good at, keep everything clean and easy on the eyes, and that’s what stands out the most. Another big takeaway was the importance of continuing to build projects while job searching. Keeping your coding skills sharp and showing consistent growth is key, and this course really reinforced that. For me, that was the most important and lasting message.

What a great experience! I thought I would mostly enjoy the visual part of creating a landing page. However, I found myself enjoying the search for ways I could improve the code and even how to fix bugs 🕵️‍♀️. I can't wait to learn more.

It was an interesting workshop

SheCodes React Add-on brought me back to the classic SheCodes rhythm I’ve loved over the last six months. After the first React course’s fast pace, this add-on felt focused and hands-on—clear lessons followed by building. We integrated new APIs and built something different from my earlier projects, and by the end React really clicked for me. I’m happy to finish one of my final courses on a high note and excited to keep shipping React apps.

Loved this! Learning more about forms, how to utilize them and how to inject time and timezones was a lot fun. I will say it again repetition as well as trial and error are what help you retain the knowledge. When it gets challenging, taking a deep breath, water break or whatever helps you and then go through your code step-by-step and you will figure it out. 😊

The SheCodes add-on project was a valuable learning experience for me. It helped transform coding concepts into something tangible and creative. I particularly enjoyed building the interactive elements, as they made the project feel more dynamic. This process not only improved my technical skills but also encouraged me to think critically about design choices and experience. I had such a great time with the SheCodes Responsive Workshop! It was honestly so cool to learn how to make websites that work perfectly on phones and laptops. The React workshop was not my favorite part of the workshop. I found it quite confusing, especially when it came to setting up the environment and understanding how everything fits together. I’m still in the process of grasping its concepts, and honestly, I haven’t enjoyed it much so far. That said, I am willing to give it time and grace, and I believe that with continued practice and patience, I will eventually make progress and become more comfortable with React.

This AI project was so much fun. I enjoyed it very much.

This has been a fun course. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to explore the possibilities of integrating AI into coding.

It was a good learning curve adjusting the code of my vanilla JS weather app to React. I built it with Vite since the suggested create-react-app has been deprecated, and the tutorial videos of this workshop haven't been updated in a few years it seems, so I wanted to try to learn up-to-date methods, which meant using React, Vite and Netlify documentation and YouTube videos to learn what I needed to complete this project in React.

A practical hands on approach to advanced python. Navigating the more complex tasks was really rewarding. Visualising data sets in a variety of ways highlights the real world application of python and provides a understanding of big data sets. Excellent guidance on how to develop and improve code to a professional standard.

The SheCodes React course was challenging and moved quickly. While the early weeks felt a little disorganized and not always aligned with the homework, the last two weeks returned to the strong SheCodes style I’ve seen in other classes, walking us through an app step by step. In the end, I gained the core React foundations I need for front-end development. If you’re considering it, expect a steep learning curve, but it’s worth it.

I am a physical therapist who has always been curious about how things work. I started building computers when I was young but coding seemed a lot harder. I am so glad I can finally understand how the basics work and I cannot wait to learn more.
