SheCodes Coding Workshop Reviews

This project helped me understand how to connect JavaScript with real AI APIs and build a working web application. I learned how to structure a project, and deploy it online with Netlify. It was challenging but very useful for improving my frontend skills.

I'm so excited to finally see my finished weather app live on the internet! It's been challenging. There were moments where I had no idea why things weren't working but pushing through it made it so worth it. Everything I learned throughout the course came together in this project. From structuring the page, to styling it, to connecting a real API and displaying live weather data. I built something real, and that feeling is unmatched. 100% worth every frustrating moment!

After first learning Java, It took some time to know how to code in Python. Luckily Matt is really great in explaining the differences and also the naming of what things are called in Python vs Java.

For me, it was too much trial and error while doing CSS & JS specially. It creates mental pressure and tension to deliver close to your best in the homework's. I guess this happens when your brain starts learning something new and wants to be good in it at the same time. Overall, It was really fun to do small small challenging tasks. Moreover, keeping an open mind that lessons probably be difficult in the next level. Thank you

This course was a super fun challenge, learning how to make applications responsive without using frameworks such as Bootstrap. The SheCodes team is always very responsive and ready to help when needed. I definitely recommend this course!

The basic ads project was especially challenging and pushed me to achieve things I never thought I’d be capable of. I’m really excited to see what comes next!

I just finished the SheCodes Basics workshop and really enjoyed it. I had no coding experience at all before starting, but everything was explained in a simple and easy way. I really enjoyed learning Python basics with SheCodes. The lessons were clear, well-structured, and easy to follow, even as a beginner. The AddOn Workshop really helped to solidify what I've been learning. I was surprised how much longer it took me than I initially thought it would take. I really wanted to grasp and practice all of the concepts, which is why I didn't rush through it. Matt does a remarkable job explaining each point, which I really appreciate!

In this module, we got to work on our project as we progressed through the course. I really liked that style of learning.

I really enjoyed the SheCodes Plus course. Before this, I struggled a lot with front-end development, especially CSS. It often felt confusing and hard to bring designs to life. This course helped me understand things more clearly and made front-end development feel more approachable. Creating a Weather application from start to finish has been a big learning journey and exceedingly rewarding. Learning how to use JavaScript in such a way and how API works is such a game-changer. Great Course 10/10!!!!

Learning React has been a really interesting experience for me. I truly enjoyed the process, even though it wasn’t as easy as what I had learned before. At times it felt challenging, especially getting used to new concepts and the way everything connects, but that also made it more rewarding. Overall, it has been a valuable learning experience, and I definitely want to continue improving my React skills and exploring more advanced topics.

Creating the weather application from scratch was definitely fun but it can be tricky if you aren't paying close attention to detail with javascript. Overall, learning the more advanced steps to integrate the forecast through JavaScript instead of going through HTML was pretty cool to learn.

I came to SheCodes with the knowledge I had learned from playing around with MySpace and Tumblr templates and got to understand the fundamentals of all three languages and more than anything an appreciation for my favorite websites. I appreciated how each lesson was built on the previous one and that helped me to retain the information in a consistent format.

I thoroughly enjoyed this course! Learning how to make applications responsive is an absolute game-changer!! The course was challenging, but the skills learned are invaluable. The SheCodes support team is amazing, as always!! I can't wait to continue implementing these skills on future projects!

I really enjoyed the Shecodes course, and I would definitely recommend it to everyone who wants to start learning Front-End development. The courses in each week are well explained and not too long. There are assignments after each course which are absolutely helpful for learning and practicing. The homework at the end of each week is quite helpful and contains everything that was explained during the week. By doing it you'll make sure that you are able to build what you've learned.

I can’t recommend SheCodes Python enough! The lessons are clear, the platform is beautiful, and the technical support is top-notch. I never thought I’d actually enjoy learning about loops and dictionaries, but the way SheCodes gamifies the learning process makes it addictive. I walked away with a solid foundation in Python and a project I’m genuinely proud of. Best investment I’ve made in myself this year! The only downside was working with Replit; it felt completely different from Matt’s explanations and often contradicted the Replit documentation, which was a bit frustrating at times.

This was so fun and I learned so much! Everything was so much easier and way less intimidating than I thought it would be. I can't wait to try more workshops and maybe even a bootcamp!

Each SheCodes workshop adds another layer to my skill set, and this one has opened the door to even more possibilities with Python and AI. Feeling proud, motivated, and ready for the next step.

i started shecodes 2023 and had so much joy in me but along the line i suffered a major setback that made me stop learning . Fast forward to 2026, i came back and was so happy i still had access. started all over again, learnt, did my projects all over again, summitted them all over again and i must say, am so grateful for this. Its like i got back in control of my life and did what i always wanted to do. Thank you shecodes because my loved ones always wanted to know how far i have gone. This is a dream come true!.

The SheCodes React course has been an incredible six weeks. Matt has a rare ability to take complex concepts and make them feel approachable, always guiding you through the journey step by step, no matter the challenge. What excited me most was discovering a completely new way of thinking about code. Learning to build with components, manage state, map through live data, and structure a full component tree unlocked a new level of thinking about how web products are built. The moment things started clicking — functions inside functions, components talking to each other — was really satisfying. React made me want to keep building. That says everything about how much this course inspired me. A huge thank you to Matt and the SheCodes team for yet another rewarding and eye-opening learning experience. I cannot wait to keep exploring how far React can take me.

The lessons are beginner-friendly as they allow you to learn small things gradually and utilise each new skill within the challenges. But if you are the type of person who often goes above and beyond, the lessons allow you to extend your practice outside of what you learn as well.
