Another workshop done and dusted! What a fantastic experience this has been so far. Within a matter of a week, another skill was unlocked and I have an interactive landing page to show for it. It amazes me everytime how easy and uncomplicated Matt makes coding. He explains it in bite-size chunks and provides you with enough space and time to think about what you have learned and then put the new skill to practice. Highly recommend any of the coding courses.
The course covers responsive design that builds on HTML, CSS, Flexbox, and CSS Grid with certification projects learned from previous modules. After going through the modules, I took some time playing with fluid grids, flexible images, and media queries. I would have liked to see a module about elements to consider when approaching mobile screens. Questions that come to mind include the possibility of making a base CSS for small screens first, adding break points for larger screens, and touch targets to ensure buttons and links can be adequately sized for touch screens. I enjoyed the process of experimenting and learning more about responsive design while creating and structuring a portfolio page that works on both desktop and mobile devices.

Coding has kept me excited and craving for more. It is fun to code; it has kept me glued to my laptop, to an extent where I can't tell what time it is. JavaScript was particularly interesting. Building the Vanilla Weather App has been the most informative, engaging, and creative part of the workshop so far. Although it was challenging at times, every moment of learning and problem-solving was worth the effort. I have grown tremendously in my coding skills and have genuinely enjoyed the journey. Learning React has been one of the more challenging parts of my coding journey so far. Compared to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python, React took me longer to understand, and I found myself needing to spend extra time working through concepts such as components, state, props, and handling API data. Although it didn't come as naturally to me as some of the previous languages I have learned, I gradually developed a solid understanding of how React works. As I continued building projects and troubleshooting errors, I became more confident in breaking down problems and understanding how different parts of an application work together. While I know there is still plenty to learn, completing React has given me a good foundation to build on. It has also reinforced the importance of persistence, patience, and problem solving when learning new technologies. Overall, the experience has been rewarding, and I feel more prepared to continue developing my React skills through future projects and real world experience.
I personally enjoyed learning how to integrate AI into web development. It was interesting to learn how AI works, and how prompts and contexts can make a difference in generating AI answers. I also got to learn that you can code CSS in Javascript. Super grateful to SHECODES for this opportunity.

Being able to add a 'functionality' to the webpage solely from CSS with no bootstrap was fun. It is time consuming and teaches you patience with having to troubleshoot images to the correct sizing needed for the content of a webpage, but, it also helps to add on and build the fine motor skills of retaining information learned from the 'Basics' courses of the coding workshops. I took a lot away from this 'Responsive' course that helped me understand how CSS can work better and more efficiently for webpages.
React is quite challenging but SheCodes made it fun, I can't wait to learn more so I can return to this project and adjust the temperatures for the forecast as well.
I have learnt a lot from the basics programme as a beginner in tech and I am overly excited to further my workshop.

Again, so much info; sometimes I feel like I've already forgotten what I learned the previous weeks. But it's really fun, and I'm still moving forward in coding.
What a great experience! Matt is an excellent teacher and explains everything in such a way that you grasp new concepts quite easily. The lesson videos are short, but they are packed with knowledge and information. The corresponding challenges after many of the lessons really help to solidify the new information you have learned. It is amazing to come to the realisation that something I wasn't able to do two weeks ago, I can do now!
Iβm genuinely amazed by how much I learned in such a short space of time. One of my favourite parts of the project was making it my own by adding extra features beyond the course requirements. There are still more ideas I want to implement, but Iβm excited to continue improving it even after completing the workshop. Learning how to integrate AI into a JavaScript application and make it work in a real project feels like a huge milestone for me. A few months ago, this would have seemed impossible, but now I have the confidence to build AI-powered applications and keep expanding my skills.

This course was challenging but the more I practiced what I learned through the challenges and the homework- it became easier to understand the 'how' and the 'why' of the content. Bootstrap definitely makes styling a HTML easier but having CSS helps to keep the memory of "starting from scratch."

Coding is hard. This was definitely a challenge for me, but the staff was great at understanding my frustrations (clears throat... JoΓ£o Lopes). There were times when I thought about giving up because, even now, there is still so much I donβt know. However, I pushed through and came out of it with my sanity still intact. I know there is still a lot to learn, but Iβm excited to continue improving and asking questions whenever I stumble along the way.
I did it! Feels like a real accomplishment to be able to understand data manipulation in python. So much still to learn but it's starting to make sense.
Wonderful experience, I took a break from learning coding a few years ago and now I am picking up were I left. This project was the best refresher and now I am going to re-do Plus and get my GitHub back up! I'm excited to continue further.
