This has been an incredible journey of learning a new skill. For some time I've wanted to learn how to code, and with this particular program I feel like learning has been enjoyable. Going straight to a more complex, backend language is not ideal for beginners. Matt knows his audience and his team does an excellent job keeping a balance between webinars and practical application.
It was so interesting to learn about AI APIs and how to use them in your code. Everything Matt has taught has really helped me to become better at coding and more excited to learn everyday!

Created for true beginners! I had tried to learn coding so many other places and times but Matt has created a welcoming environment that actually starts at the basics and tells you the WHY for everything.
I would definitely recommend this course. Starting with absolutely no experience in coding I was nervous at taking on this course, but wanted to take on a professional development challenge. This course breaks down the course content step-by-step which has allowed me to follow along, learn and gain confidence in my abilities to understand concepts and build a landing page. Working on my 'AI Daily Challenge Generator' project has been an amazing experience. I wanted to build something that not only pushed my coding skills but also helped others stay motivated to learn new things every day. Integrating the AI API wasnβt easy, but I have learned so much along the way and it really stretched my problem-solving skills. Through this AI generator project, I explored AI tools, strengthened my coding abilities, and learned how to turn a simple idea into a functional project. Iβm really proud of what I was able to create with the step-by-step instructions of the wonderful teacher Matt Delac and I'm very excited that others can now use my daily challenge generator to get inspired too!

I came to SheCodes Basics with a frustrating problem: I could copy and paste code snippets and make things work, but I had no real understanding of why they worked or how to fix them when they broke. I was essentially a code copier, not a programmer. This surface-level approach left me constantly hitting walls. When something didn't work as expected, I'd spend hours trying random solutions from Stack Overflow without understanding the underlying logic. I could build functional pages by piecing together tutorials, but debugging felt like pure guesswork. SheCodes Basics changed that completely. Matt's teaching approach focuses on the "why" behind every concept, not just the "how." Instead of just showing us syntax, he explained the reasoning behind HTML structure, the cascade in CSS, and the logic flow in JavaScript. This foundational understanding was exactly what I'd been missing.Now when I encounter issues, I can methodically identify where things are going wrong instead of randomly trying solutions. I understand the connection between HTML structure and CSS selectors, why JavaScript functions behave certain ways, and how different parts of a webpage interact with each other. Building the tribute website for my Akita Inu, Sakura, became an exercise in applying these debugging skills in real time. When the background image wouldn't display or the responsive layout broke, I could systematically work through the problem instead of panicking. SheCodes didn't just teach me to code better - it taught me to think like a developer and search and solve problems with logic rather than luck.
I'm very satisfied with the courses. Matt explains thoroughly how to carry out the project, making it easy to follow along and learn. I'm looking forward to the upcoming courses!

I really enjoyed Matt's approach of "jump in the water, do it NOW". The lessons don't give you much of a chance to stop and consider that you might not be able to do the thing, or any other type of self-doubt. All the information is there, it's easy to access, very well presented, and there is a lot of support in place. I also massively appreciate the constant encouragement to do your own research and experiment with code, and the reassurance that there is not one correct answer. I am a very anxious learner, and feel like I need to write everything down, but this approach made me more confident; the cheatsheets took away the need to write everything down. In the end, I had more time, energy, and focus to understand what I was being taught and play around with code after completing my homework.
This week was a bit more tougher and challenging than the last, but I am glad I got to learn new concepts and elements of code that make my work not only look cleaner but nicer too, as a more visual individual! React was by far the most challenging of all the workshops. But I managed to pull through because Matt explained all the work in a clear and concise manner.
This workshop is simple, but so rich in knowledge. It took me a while to finish it because of personal reasons, but honestly, I wish I had found it and done it sooner. It's been such a great experience, and it still is. Iβm excited to keep learning and soaking up everything Matt has to teach.

Matt has a very well structured course. It's structured as you should start programing any project. When starting a project it's overwhelming trying to do all in the beginning. But starting with HTML first, then CSS and only then JS is less scary. So not only we are learning programming languages, we are also learning good practices. Thank you! π
This 2-week AI course gave me more confidence in myself and took away the fear of making mistakes. Seeing how Matt did not know everything and the process he had to do in order to find the answer was eye-opening. The videos and instructions, altogether with the SheCodes AI, are a great tool for coding students.

I began and finished the course with high enthusiasm because the instructor, Matt Delac was very clear with his explanations. Also, the leverage to learn at anytime made room to understand and grasp concepts with the help of google. It was an interesting journey of deep thinking and sometimes frustration because one mistake even an unclosed curly brackets could hault the code from running. I am grateful for the skills I have acquired thus far and I look forward to many more.
