I built World Clock Symphony from the ground up—no frameworks, no teammates—just browser-native JavaScript, CSS, and APIs, from the Spotify API to the Shecodes Weather API—the result: a real-time, culturally intelligent global time tool designed for distributed teams and financial operators. Every feature was scoped with GTM intent—market hour overlays, cultural greetings, weather context, and even Spotify soundtracking. I designed, built, and shipped a full-stack front-end product while treating it like a real GTM motion: messaging, positioning, UX, performance, and differentiation.
I couldn't have asked for a better experience! I needed to build a portfolio, and it was a wonderful surprise to find that this course was dedicated to creating a polished, responsive one from scratch. I'm thrilled with what I was able to build and so grateful for the skills I've gained. The SheCodes Team has created a fantastic, low-pressure way to learn, and I can't thank them enough!
I'm so glad I took the leap and joined the SheCodes Basics program! From Debugging to "Done" - My SheCodes Journey Taking on the SheCodes weather app challenge has been one of the most empowering things I've ever done.What started as a simple assignment turned into a personal project full of heart, transformation, and late-night breakthroughs (and breakdowns too- but we survived.!) I learned how to build a weather app using real-time APIs, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Axios. But more than the app, I discovered just how much creativity, resilience, and passion I could pour into code. My final project, Phoenix Skies, is a reflection of everything I've become- elegant, reborn, and ready to rise. I had a great time working on this project, it was one of the hardest for me personally. I had to start over countless times, because I wanted a perfect project. I built a responsive World Clock using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and the Moment.js and Moment-Timezone libraries. The SheCodes Plus course was challenging due to the advanced topics and the project, but the videos and weekly challenges made it easy to progress, especially with all the support from the SheCodes team. Now that I see everything I learned in this course and the project, I feel proud of these new skills and excited to continue learning in the rest of the courses.

The SheCodes Basic Course was one of the most well-designed classes I have taken. I like how it was organized into tiny chunks and how you had the challenge at the end, plus a solution, once you submitted it. It really made so much more sense to me, than some of the other courses I have taken. The support and encouragement on Slack is wonderful too! The SheCodes website is colorful, welcoming, and very organized. During the time I was doing my SheCodes Basic Course, I had an injury and the SheCodes Team was very understanding about postponing my learning a few weeks, which I so appreciate! I will definitely try some more SheCodes courses, to improve my Web Design and Coding skills! Thank you, SheCodes!
Completing SheCodes Basics was such an empowering experience! I came in with minimum coding knowledge, and now I can build a real web page with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This is the third course I’ve taken with SheCodes, and I can honestly say I’ve learned so much. The content is clear and easy to follow, and Matt does a great job explaining things step by step, especially when it comes to connecting to an API and understanding the logic behind it. What I really value is that the course doesn’t just give you answers, it encourages you to stay curious and explore different ways of solving things. Like the SheCodes team says, they propose some solutions, but they’re not the only ones. You’re free to go beyond what’s taught, or take it at your own pace and both are totally valid. It’s a great learning experience, and I’d definitely recommend it if you're starting out or looking to build confidence in web development.
