SheCodes Coding Workshop Reviews

I had some knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript from free online resources, but I could never get my head around putting JavaScript into practice! SheCodes broke it down into manageable lessons and had me practicing JavaScript alongside each step, which really helped cement the basic concepts for me! I've really enjoyed the Basics course and look forward to learning more advanced concepts with SheCodes!

I had so much fun learning how to code with SheCodes . The videos were very informative and the best part about it is that they were not too long or overwhelming. Loved the flexibility of the classes and the video sessions.

SheCodes Responsive was really challenging and fun. I have learnt so much and feel really equipped to build responsive websites going forward and I cannot wait to get an opportunity to use these skills. I am really grateful to Matt and the entire SheCodes team for the amazing support through out the workshop. I like how real Matt is, and does not necessarily want to perfect his videos. And reminds us at all times that a break is necessary whenever you feel frustrated and that it is all part of the job of a developer.

This workshop was great. I learned a lot and really enjoyed it. Matt is a great instructor and SheCodes team is very helpful. So, I am determined to continue my coding journey with SheCodes Workshops and I highly recommend that you give it a try.

The genius of SheCodes for me is the pacing. I deeply appreciate that the instructional videos are brief, and that opportunities for any further exploration are open to the individual through the links within each lesson and through the respective cheatsheets. The additional tools developed by SheCodes, such as the palette tool also provide endless opportunities for experimentation. The sky--if there is one in one's explorations into the vast universe of coding--is the limit. 😊

It is a blessing to be part of the amazing women who are in Tech. This course has given me insight of and knowledge that I can be anything I want to be if I put my faith and believe in myself. I am glad that are one of the student who participated in this course.

I am very proud of this project, it took two months of hard work, some moments of frustration but which were soon resolved with the quick and effective support of the team. The support and classes are excellent! Thank you and I can't wait to start the next module :)

I can't believe I've made it this far in my coding journey. It has been challenging but never impossible to understand. Matt is a great teacher and everyone on the SheCodes team is always very kind and helpful. I'm happy to have made the decision to learn coding.

I have never thought that I will learn coding ever, I used to believe that learning coding is difficult and will not make sense for me, But I was wrong- anyone can learn how to code and I thoroughly enjoy every bit of it. I want to thank the 'SheCodes' team for making this possible for me especially Matt- the content was easy to understand and I was able to follow every instructions that was given. As an HR professional, I feel empowered and this will help me in many ways. I look forward to learning more!

I had so much fun while learning code—a well-made Course. The good part is there is so much content online if you want to learn by yourself, primarily Javascript but Shecodes only focuses on important things, which seems less confusing. Thanks!

The Basics Add On workshop was a great follow up to the Basics. It was more challenging but still very understandable.

Great introductory course to coding. All of the lessons are broken up into very small, manageable lessons, with accompanying learning checks to ensure understanding.

Good content, and breaks down the more complex processes into smaller more easily understood components

The videos were very informative without being too long or overwhelming. This was a great experience to see if this could be a new career moving forward.

This workshop helped me to feel comfortable building websites, using github and really understand using grid and flexbox.

Another SheCodes workshop down and I cannot recommend them enough for someone looking to get started with coding. Every week is a new adventure of creating and I love it!

Enrolling in the SheCodes Basics workshop was such a great experience. I've always been intimidated by coding, but Matt and the SheCodes team made the learning process so approachable by breaking down concepts into bite-sized pieces. I've learned so much more in the 3 weeks of the workshop than I did after months on other platforms. The support through the Slack channel I received throughout the workshop was invaluable. I love walking away from the workshop with a complete project to demonstrate my new skills and look forward to continuing my coding journey.

There's a lot to learn each week but the material is laid out in a way that is easy to follow. The challenges are very helpful for reviewing and practising the skills covered in each lesson.

The way the workshop is set up to build your skills bit by bit is really great and makes the learning process not so intimidating.

I really enjoyed the way this workshop was laid out. It was really helpful to watch the lesson video first and then do a challenge myself. That is the best way to learn. Plus the slack conversations are always open for assistance. I never felt alone on my journey. I would totally recommend this to anyone who wants to learn coding!

I had so much fun trying out the Basics course. It definitely challenged me but was very do-able given that you have chat support and AI to help around the clock. I would like to continue on furthering my coding skills from here!

After the SheCodes Basics this short course is perfect for learning more tips and tricks on how to work with HTML CSS and JavaScript. Lessons are easy to understand and also coding a final project is not complicated. 👌🏼👌🏼

when I signed up for Delac Foundation I wasn't really optimistic about it because I thought so many people would be on foundation line so It wouldn't apply to me or at least not very soon but I got emailed & accepted In a quiet short time. during the workshop everyone were pretty friendly & helpful which I appreciate the most. Also another thing that I appreciate a lot is that the workshop schedule is flexible & fitted for students.

This kind of learning is what I really wanted from longtime ago. I've always been intrigued and curious by how all those webpages are built and really wanted to find courses. I loved doing the workshops, even though I really hadn't enough time I love doing the research; the challenge of resolving sometimes the bug is so excinting. I really had fun! Awesome intiative Matt for creating this for women and great job team!

I was initially skeptical about joining the SheCodes bootcamp, having tried various other coding courses in the past that were not straightforward and left me constantly filling gaps by watching YouTube videos on my own time. However, from the very start of the SheCodes degree program, Matt's explanations were clear and made the learning process much easier. I found that I barely had to use any external help, which was a refreshing change. The team were also incredibly responsive and helpful whenever I had general enquiries or issues with my work. Overall, I had an excellent experience with SheCodes and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get into coding. The program was well-structured and easy to follow, and the support provided by the SheCodes team was second to none. I'm now much more confident in my coding abilities and excited to continue my learning journey in this exciting field.

It was a wonderful experience! A professional team that will promptly help with all questions and difficulties. But there were not many questions, as the video tutorials are very clear and visual. It's nice to see the result of creativity in the form of a working application :) I would just like to ask you to add subtitles, because with them it will be easier for foreigners to learn the material in English. Not everything can be immediately understood by ear, so you need to reduce the playback speed, which slows down the process. I wish you all the best and thank you Matt and the whole team for your work!

It was fun working on that project.

This add-on project was challenging, but walking through the project together as a reference helped me complete my project and understand how to correct my mistakes, and get the styling and functions to render correctly.

Clearly, SheCodes is the platform to get yourself into coding or refresh your knowledge. The lessons and assignments are of high quality and make the discipline easy to understand. Great thanks to the SheCodes team!

I really enjoy the class and was amazed by myself for being able to code basic HTML websites! Matt really simplifies the process and make it easy to understand the different elements. It can sometimes feel overwhelming on juggling my full-time job and learning an entirely new skillset but the course goes with your own pace and there's always an option to take a step back while keeping things on track!
