I love SheCodes workshops! They are very easy and relevant.
This section was a little more challenging than I originally thought, but once I learned everything and how it all interacts with each other then it made sense. I know feel more comfortable with coding and the logic behind why things are done the way they are makes even more sense. I am excited to keep moving forward with the program and learn even more and to see how things keep building on each other. If you are considering getting into coding this is the program to do it with!! The instructor and the group of helpers he has are just phenomenal!! They are quick to respond and are positive and encouraging but also help you to see your mistakes, and fix them.
I had no prior experience in coding. I really enjoyed the class. I learned a lot!!!

I came in as a complete beginner, and I feel like I've learned so much! I like that there is so much practice throughout. As a teacher, I'm amazed at how well the program is designed, with just enough info at a time and then opportunities to practice.
I have been dancing around the idea of learning to code but found most bootcamps too expensive. Then I stumbled upon SheCodes and it has been the most rewarding experience. The basic workshop allows one to "test" the coding waters without too much of an investment of time or money. Matt is an awesome instructor, making each lesson enjoyable and easy to follow. I highly recommend SheCodes to any woman interested in code. I plan to continue my coding journey with SheCodes.

In the past two months, I was trying to build my online portfolio. It was painful. If I had done this course before starting my own webpage, the whole process would be much easier than it was. Im very happy with the knowledge that i got on this course! I tried many other platforms but couldn't succeed to finish any programming courses. Slack support team helped a lot to get out of problems that i couldn't figure out myself - i think its the one of the main reasons why this course is easier to finish. I've worked in tech and around HTML, CSS and JS for several years, but I was always intimidated by the courses I tried to take to grasp the basics and felt I was very much out of my element. I found SheCodes and really enjoyed the introduction by Matt, so I took the plunge and I'm so glad I did! For the first time in my life, I actually understand the HTML and CSS I'm writing, and I feel confident that I'm learning best practices. The pace was awesome, Matt was super engaging and being able to help and learn from other students was incredible! I can't wait to begin my next course with SheCodes!
I taught myself some HTML back in the mid-90s as a pre-teen. I have since gone on to college, studying Anthropology and then getting a doctorate in Physical Therapy. I have been in a career as a physical therapist for 7 years, but have decided to take myself back in time and pursue coding as a career moving forward. I have enjoyed SheCodes so far, and I do find that the UI and design elements of web development are very appealing. SheCodes definitely seems to be geared in that direction while learning how to make things function.
I quit my job where I was miserable to focus on coding full-time. I wanted to follow my knack for User Experience and learn how to code so I could gain knowledge around building solutions for my ideas and build a career. SheCodes is an excellent program. The workshops took me from knowing nothing about coding or even where to begin, to seeing my code come to life and being confident in what I have learned. Thank you Matt Delac and SheCodes staff!

I really enjoyed this course. Matt is a great instructor and the challenges were fun and engaging. This is a great introductory course to coding. Even if you're not able to afford to take the advanced classes, I feel like the beginner one still gives you enough tools to learn the basics and continue learning on your own, if you want. The team is very helpful and responsive to any questions you may have, and its fun to be a part of the slack group with other women, from all over the world also taking the class! I had a lot of fun working on my final project, and I am satisfied with how it turned out. I'm excited to continue to learn coding, and hopefully put my skills to use eventually!
This was a fantastic course. Matt does a good job explaining things and the methodology of learning a little bit and then performing a challenge works very well for me. I'd love to see some trainings performed by women as well, but that's a small gripe. The quality of the basics course was great.
SheCodes is very in-depth and thorough! I felt I have learned in a short amount of time. The course is challenging, but not to the point where it's too overwhelming. You have student and staff support each step of the way.
SheCodes Basics was a great introductory course for me since I was always interested in coding but had no idea what it would be like. This course was very easy to fit in to my busy work schedule and I just wish the basics program had more content because I was left wanting more. I am a lab technician working specifically in lab operations and will use what I learn when working with developers for sites that my group uses. I most likely will upgrade to the Plus Reacts or the Pro workshop next.
SheCodes really helped me perfect the basics of coding that I already knew, and taught me new things along the way. I feel like I was really encouraged to push the boundaries of what I thought I would be capable of. The work was easy to follow with no problem, and I like that if you miss something you can rewind until you understand. It was really fun creating something from nothing.

After trying several free and nearly free resources online, I realized that I needed a bare minimum of accountability and structure to continue my own coding journey during an especially busy time in my life. SheCodes provides exactly that, as well as a community and instructors to lean on if necessary. I've found the course materials more professional, better organized, and better harmonized to the assignments than for any other course I have tried to date. Even on occasions when I'd already been introduced to material elsewhere, Matt added practical, up-to-date tips that further enhanced my knowledge. If you're struggling to stay motivated like I was, try a SheCodes course! It's well worth the investment.

SheCodes is a great way to learn how to code.
I've tried learning code both on my own and through other courses, some much more expensive than this one. This is the first course where I actually felt confident by the final project. Before Joining SheCodes, I always wanted to learn about coding. In the past, I tried watching YouTube videos or participating in free coding courses online but they either too advance or lack the ability to keep me focused. SheCodes Basics really got me engaged in coding. This 3-week course really made it easy to understand coding , and was so fun!!! I'm excited to move on into the 2 advanced workshops. Once I'm finished, I hope that I can find a great career in coding where I can continue expanding my knowledge.
Although I have a Masters Degree in Software Engineering, I have always been anxious when it comes to coding. SheCodes is a platform where I felt we really don't have to get so anxious to begin to code and get good at coding.Now I can really stop and take a breath and actually enjoy coding. I've been meaning to try a basics coding class for awhile and am so glad I found SheCodes. Matt's videos were bite-sized and very digestive, especially for beginners. I can't believe I'm able to make a Html/CSS landing page with Javascript from scratch after 3 weeks. The course was very informative and fun, a definite recommend!
I really did not think I would enjoy coding, it has always seemed strange and math-like. My sibling, who is a back end developer, suggested I should take classes because I enjoy design. He promised I would not be held back by my fear of math. Over the past couple of weeks, I have discovered I am lucky in two things: One, I have a good sibling. Two, I was able to find SheCodes. It really has been a fun journey which I am excited to continue. That's right, I said FUN. π

It has been such a fun and educational three weeks. I have never enjoyed coding so much before. Prior to enrolling at SheCodes, I used to feel hesitant to code despite being a Computer Science major. I was second guessing in taking this workshop because I felt the need to actually be in a class with a real professor, but I took the chances and took the Basic Coding Workshop and I absolutely loved it! Matt is a really great professor! I really enjoyed his videos. If I didn't get a topic I would always go back and see the videos all over again. I love SheCodes! I recently graduated with a B.A. in Digital Media with a focus in Web Design and I felt very unprepared for the world, I didn't have a good foundation! SheCodes filled in all the blanks I had and it was very easy to follow along and it made me enjoy coding!
This has been a really fun workshop yet challenging, I didn't think I would ever be able to accomplish something like coding. I felt intimidated by all the lines of codes but this basics workshop was a great way to introduce a new concept to me. I highly recommend SheCodes for anybody working full-time or just have time on their hands and want to dip their toes in coding.
