SheCodes basics has been a great way for me to dive into another area of design, and to focus on functionality. I look forward to continuing the courses and expanding my coding knowledge to see what else I can create.

The way the SheCodes lessons are crafted really helps you find confidence in coding even if you failed to get the right answer the first time. Lesson on the basics --> challenge to implement the basics w/ a small element not taught explicitly --> solution to show how it could've been done & guide you to a right answer (not THE right answer). It's reassuring to know that even professionals look up the proper element names & it's SO. FREAKING. SATISFYING when you search how to do something online and it finally WORKS!! Having the option of reaching out to a pro on Slack is also incredibly helpful when you're really stuck on something! Highly recommend the course for anyone looking to get their start in coding!
I was nervous about learning coding but the team has been very supportive and the lessons are in a format that makes them easy to review and search.
So glad I found SheCodes! This was a great refresher for some of the web coding skills I'd already learned but had fallen behind on. It also showed me some different ways to code, from my previous experience, which was interesting. I also liked that the Intro course was short (as far as # of weeks) and that there were weekly deadlines, as sometimes it can be easy to put things off when "life happens." There's so much more to web development than could be covered in the basic Intro class, but I would definitely recommend for those who are interested in seeing if coding is for them!
I really enjoyed this program, SheCodes gives you real-world experience with coding, they have a very excellent structure and a phenomenal support team. would highly recommend it if you're not sure where to start.
I signed up for SheCodes to explore the possibility of pursuing coding as a career. The lesson plans and assignments are very organized and asking for help is simple. I learned pretty quick and found the homework assignments to be fun. I am glad I started the beginners coding course to further my knowledge in the near future!
I really enjoyed SheCodes' lessons and challenges and the friendly community. Matt and the SheCodes team are great at helping and supporting you when you need it. I felt that the challenges were fun and the basic course is just enough to pique your interest if you would like to learn more. Even with the basic course, I felt like I was learning a lot while still being challenged.

I had briefly learned HTML when I was in middle school but hadn't reviewed it since. The beginners workshop acted as a nice "refresher" and it proved to me that HTML is like riding a bike, once you learn it you never forget it. The Java script content reinforced my previous studies and added to my set of skills.
I started knowing nothing about coding and in just 3 weeks I learned so much! There were times where the challenges in the lessons were a bit tough, but it was just to help my brain expand more in understanding the concepts that were being taught. My favorite part of the course was just putting on my headphones and listening to SheCodes radio as I coded. I love Coding!

When I first joined Shecodes, I did not know any programming languages. I only knew how to basic coding for engineering on Matlab. After taking the three-week workshop, I got to know how to code something. I would definitely recommend this for those who want to try programming out. It very easy to understand, and the best thing is that you get to project at the end of each lesson. It would make you feel like a programmer when you do those projects. You get to put everything you have learned in that week into the project.
SheCodes Basics was fun and paced in a way that kept things interesting. The course is easy to understand but at the same time challenging. I love that it is women-centered! (Pro tip: listen to some strong female artists while coding and you'll feel even more empowered) I learned so much in a short time and now have a firm grasp of coding. I had some experience with coding before starting this three-week course so some of the information wasn't new to me. But, I will say that I did gain some new coding knowledge as well as freshened up on a lot of past information which I thoroughly enjoyed.
I started SheCodes barely knowing about HTML. In SheCodes basic I've learned to Code on HTML, also I got some experience in CSS and Javascript. Now, I am so excited to start SheCodes Plus!
Learning with SheCodes was simply amazing. Going from no knowledge of how to code to being about to code my own homepage was easy to learn and fun. I would recommend SheCodes to anyone that has an interest in learning how to code and to jump start their career in the tech industry.
In less than three weeks, I was able to build a basic webpage with working buttons and links! Matthieu did an amazing job explaining the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I am very happy with the content of this course, and what I was able to accomplish in such a short time.
This was so much fun! There were some challenging lessons, but once you get over those humps, you feel so accomplished! I cannot believe I actually created a weather app!! Also, the training videos and lesson challenges were all easy to follow, and the structure of the course made it easy to follow. I am so proud of my project! Whoohooo! Definitely a great intro to coding and pretty flexible to busy schedules like mine! I thoroughly enjoyed how easy each class was to follow and to replicate, and the basics are truly all you need in order to kickstart your journey into coding, wherever that takes you.

I thoroughly enjoyed taking this introduction and found it helpful to touch upon the knowledge I already had with HTML + CSS. It was nice getting a refresher and learning new tricks. I especially enjoyed the JavaScript portion. Within a short period of time, you are able to leverage what has been taught by Matt and execute it in the final project. This experience has taught me how to stick with a problem and find ways of solving it, and perhaps most significantly, the experience taught me the skills that will enable me to continue to develop into a Front End Developer. I really enjoyed this class! I had absolutely zero coding experience, and I will say this class was a bit more challenging than I anticipated. If you are someone who needs a lot of repetition, like me, you may be spending more than 5 hours a week working on this class. Matt is a great teacher who makes coding easy to understand, and provides a great deal of resources for students. The slack chat with technical support is very helpful as well. I feel very excited to continue my journey in tech and have already recommended this class to several friends!

This is the best online course/teaching style I've found! SheCodes is so good at breaking things down into small, understandable chunks. Learning in small segments and then applying that knowledge with frequent small, fun homework assignments is so helpful for learning!

This course has been a great way to try out programming and learn just enough of the basics to be able to understand how well you will enjoy it and whether to pursue the topic further. Personally, I will be using my learnings from this course to try out some exciting and creative alternatives to exercises that we do in my job as a Market Researcher. This is definitely a course that can span various fields!

I had tried to learn coding languages a few months ago using Youtube videos and CodePen alone, and I ended up giving up because it didn't give me any structure to learn. I found SheCodes through Instagram and signed up for the free webinar and after a short into to HTML and CSS, I realized it really wasn't all that complicated. This course has been great in teaching me how to problem solve and organize my code, and I discovered I actually really enjoy the critical thinking skills that coding requires. I will be going onto learn more JavaScript and possibly some other in demand coding skills in the marketing sector, as I now have another skill I enjoy to pair with my passion for marketing.
Since I already have programming experience, I took this course to review web programming fundamentals and to get more comfortable with frontend development, and this course did just that!
A few months ago, I lost my job as a scheduler for a dental company due to the pandemic. I felt lost and hopeless. Every day that passed felt like a step back from where I wanted to go in life. I then decided that I did not want to continue on this line of work and began to draw and create again. During this time, I was able to channel my creativity once again, something that I lost as I "grew" up. I remembered as a child I wanted to become an artist or someone who can create beautiful masterpieces. With that in mind, I set out to find what I was looking for. I stumbled upon an AD for web development and decided to try it out. I fell in love. Coding allows me to create beautiful websites and yet challenge myself intellectually. I would highly recommend trying out the first beginners' courses to see if this is the best fit for you.
I am so happy to have found SheCodes. I am completely new to coding and this was the perfect place to start. The workshops are fun and engaging. The challenges and homework really help you learn in a hands-on approach. I can't wait to sign up for the next workshop!
Great for having some structure and deadlines to hold yourself to while you learn how to code. The amount of material is also very achievable to get through when you are limited on extra time to commit to learning (approx. 5 hours / week compared to 10+ hours with other programs. I also like the nice mix of bite size videos and exercises to get hands on practice with the concepts.

This was a super fun course and since I am a visual learner, the videos worked really well for me. It has been great to understand a topic that felt so foreign to me before this course. I didn't think I could code. I had not used a computer in years. This course was so simple to navigate for me despite my lack of using a computer. The structure of this course is easy to follow. Although the challenges are, well, challenging, I had an immense amount of fun expanding my knowledge in this new-to-me industry. Love the support from the team as well!
