SheCodes is a very approachable way of learning HTML, CSS , and JavaScript basics. I enjoyed taking the class and look forward to taking the other classes too. I hope that I can use my newly-learned skills to land a career in a coding-related field.
Since graduating from college in June, I wasn't sure which path I wanted to take in tech. Thankfully, I saw a SheCodes ad on Youtube. Initially, I was introduced to html/css many years ago when I took 2 online courses at a local college; however, for whatever reason I didn't pursue it. I'm happy to have gotten reintroduced to it by taking the SheCodes basic workshop. I forgot how interesting it was. And since I'm a visual learner, I loved learning by watching videos. It made the material easier to understand and the three weeks flew by. Now I have an idea of which direction I want to take.
When I started SheCodes, I had absolutely ZERO experience/knowledge with any form of coding. I loved the pace and the flexibility of the due dates because life happens. By the end of the workshop I have the base knowledge of what it takes to create a website and I look forward to learning more in the advanced workshops!
Really wonderful experience. I have taken coding classes before, but I loved how often we were challenged to try out new lessons. These challenges built on one another nicely and it was a pleasant surprise that homework consisted of brand new challenges using the skills we had already learned. Often in other classes these assignments build on one another and then your final project is what you have been working on, but this challenged you to start from scratch again and build something new.
Before enrolling into a degree for Computer Sci/Software engineering I wanted to get a feel of coding. This course has enabled me to feel comfortable with basic knowledge to build upon. I feel that it will provide me a greater advantage once I enroll and start my classes. Thank you so much SheCodes!!
This was a very cool experience. I definitely learned a lot and want to continue to learn more. This course really re-sparked my interest in learning to code!
I thought SheCodes was easy to navigate and follow through. I am new to programing language, and although sometimes it felt a little overwhelming, it was nice that each lesson was broken down in less than 10min segment. I was able to work on it 20 min there, 1 hour there, and so forth. I was so proud of myself at the end that I was able to code a decent webpage at the end.
I highly recommend this workshop. It is a new experience that is easy to navigate due to the support from fellow new coders and professionals. I never realized how fun coding could be until I started!
SheCodes has been a game changer for me. It has been helping me brush up on my coding skills. The lessons were easy to follow and the challenges were fun todo. You learn to find the answers that you need not only from the SheCodes lessons but also how to do research on your own to get your desired outcome. I built an entire app! 7 weeks ago I couldn't say that and didn't have the slightest idea how. There is no way I could have achieved this through learning on my own and even if I had, it would be following some template instead of creating my own stylized version. I cant believe I have a working app! I cant wait to move onto the Responsive and React workshops to make this even better.
I’m a mom of 2 at 23 and SheCodes finally gave me the tools I feel I need to succeed. I’m going to finish the whole SheCodes Pro course and I can’t wait to see where it takes me and my family.

It was easy to understand, but I really didn't like that the teacher of the female coding class was a man.
I took my first CSS course in my freshman year of college, I failed, terribly. I was so discouraged I did not want to even look at my computer... But today, 8 years later, I decided to give it a try and see if I wasn't a complete failure (when it came to coding).. and let me tell you.. I am amazed! I understood (mostly) everything instructor Matt was presenting! I loved his teaching style, and could really understand all of his comparisons and analogies. Really grateful that I took this course.

It was very fun to complete all the challenges. Specially the final project. Also, sometimes it was a little frustrating but it was totally worth it once it was all fixed. I really loved the workshop and I will definitely recommend others to give it a try!

Loved SheCodes Plus! I learned so much and the weather app challenge was the perfect way to test what I've learned. I have absolutely no background in coding or computer science and to look at the app and think "I created that" is very fulfilling! Can't wait for React next!

When I was in college pursuing my Bachelors degree in print journalism with a minor in creative writing, I had come across coding and found it very interesting. Once I graduated in 2013, life got in the way specifically breathing (chronic asthmatic) I never got the chance to pursue coding more until now. My breathing is better and once I came across SheCodes I knew this was the place for me. I am excited for this new journey and for the knowledge to come!
I feel like SheCodes is such a game-changer for me. Starting with zero knowledge and now having the background to create my own website is truly amazing. I have learned so much and have gained a lot of confidence in my coding ability.

I was looking for a bootcamp to relearn how to code from scratch when I came across SheCodes. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I picked up in just a few weeks in the SheCodes Basics workshop. The lessons are delivered in such a compact manner that you don't feel overwhelmed at all. This course has greatly renewed my interest in learning how to properly code, and I plan to enroll in additional workshops soon to further my skills.
I always was afraid of coding and didn't think of myself to start learning it, but Matt's clear teaching style and the Basics workshop curriculum have changed my mind about coding and made me enjoy it! I've loved coding since junior high, but a lack of classes teaching it left me without a way to learn, to the extent of me almost completely forgetting that I had that passion at all. I've been looking for new things to try, new learning opportunities that I could potentially turn into a career. SheCodes is definitely that avenue. I've rediscovered that passion I had when I was a kid, and I'm getting to develop it in a way that I hadn't thought of before. I can't wait to continue on this journey!

I was skeptical with how quickly or proficiently I could learn HTML, CSS, and JS in just 3 short weeks....I am pleasantly happy to share that it is possible! I take each lesson day by day and personally decide where I need to spend more time learning. I love this flexibility. If you need more time, they are accommodating but still have high expectations for completion. The final project was so much fun and I enjoyed my time creating my own site about cavapoos! I highly recommend. I will be moving on to the next part of the course and I am excited to continue this journey.

An excellent course for total beginners! I had no previous coding experience and was concerned coding would be difficult. However, Matt breaks down the information into small steps and the challenges allow you to practice what you have just learned. I was able to immediately begin creating my own code! It was fun, interesting, and easy to understand. I really enjoyed creating my final project and I'm excited to begin SheCodes Plus!
SheCodes Basics was broken into manageable bite-sized pieces, and the instruction was accessible and nonintimidating. I enjoyed working through the challenges and having my homework checked each week. It was definitely a good course to get my feet wet - Who knows, I might take the plunge into SheCodes Plus or Pro!

Matt was an articulate instructor and very talented at translating scripts into easily digestible concepts. I was able to reinforce my understanding of coding basics quickly--I had not had to write any code in over ten years, and re-learned everything in three weeks, as promised. The coursework was fun and comprehensive, and the videos made it easy to rewatch if I missed anything.
At first I was a little scared because I have no coding background. But the lessons were so thorough and easy to follow. It was truly a great course, in every way! Knowing that you can always get support on Slack or ask for a deadline extension makes all the unnecessary stress go away and you can just focus on learning. Thank you SheCodes team!

I found out about SheCodes accidently, when scrolling through Facebook. I had graduated from college two years ago and wanted to broaden my skill set so I would have more opportunities. I didn't have any experience with coding whatsoever but I decided to give it a try and sign up for a free coding class and then SheCodes Basics. I just completed the workshop today and I'm about to continue my journey with coding but I can already say that it was a good decision! During those 3 weeks, I learned a tremendous amount of information and I'm excited to see what's next! Also, I'm happy that I had a chance to explore the 'mysterious' world of coding!

I've tried to learn on my own through three separate providers and SheCodes was by far the best one for me! I'm a new mom and a full-time Product Manager for a fortune 100 company so the most important thing for me was a program that didn't take up a lot of my time but held me to a deadline. SheCodes gives you the right amount of know-how and support tools to be able to go into the homework on your own -all within a couple of hours a day. The other thing I found better than previous learn-to-code programs was the fact you're using a real text-editor and web-page from the start. I feel really confident and ready to go further into my coding journey!
The Workshop is great. I might take another workshop if I am not too busy with work. I loved it! The Challenges are challenging, the demos are great too.

I absolutely loved this class! I started out by attending the 1-hour free coding class from an Instagram ad, then ended up buying the basics class the following day and I have not looked back since! Matt does an amazing job explaining everything from the bottom up and does it where anyone can understand it. I was able to learn so much and have great resources that I had no problem with this final project. I had just a smidge of previous experience in coding from a semester in college (and those good ol' Myspace days!) and wanted to continue to learn more so that I can broaden my career opportunities in tech. If you're STILL hesitating to sign up, just DO IT, GIRL! Invest in yourself and your future, you will be thankful that you did.

I'll be honest: I was intimidated by the idea of learning to code for quite some time. I thought that because I am a clinician and work in healthcare, there would be no way that this would click with my background and skills. However, I was super surprised by how much fun I had doing this course! All of the lessons were very easy to absorb without feeling overwhelmed, and I loved that there were so many different ways for me to go back and review different concepts if I was stuck (e.g., videos, examples/models, support from staff, Slack). If any other women in my life ask about where to start with coding, I will be sure to refer them here.
