I started this workshop knowing NOTHING about coding, and finished it feeling pretty confident in the basics! I love how the course is formatted in small sections that build upon each other, and the concepts are very well explained.
Wow! I am honestly shocked by how much I learned within 3 weeks! Matt is an amazing teacher who explained coding in a way that made it much less intimidating. I am excited to sign up for more courses and see how I can introduce coding in to my art practice.
While actively searching for a job, I found the advertisement for SheCodes free online seminar. Out of curiosity I enrolled for the basic workshop and got hooked on coding...! Still a beginner but I'm determined to learn more. I have already singed up for SheCodes Plus and I'm excited about it :)
This is the first coding course that I've taken that I have been excited to complete (and I've tried at least 6 other, well known programs!). Well done SheCodes!
The SheCodes Basics workshop is great. I started with very little coding background (as in a did some basic html 15 years ago in high school), and I was able to understand the content and lessons very easily. I enjoyed the process, and loved that the courses are relatively self-paced so I could fit them around my full-time work schedule. I'm excited to start the next workshop!
Great workshop!
I started this program with no experience and these past three weeks have been so fulfilling. I feel very confident that I'll be able to implement everything I have learned so far towards future work endeavors and personal projects. The modular classes are easy to follow along, the assignments are challenging but not impossible, and the final project was actually very fun to develop. If you are considering taking this course, I highly encourage you to start it ASAP.
I've really enjoyed this basics workshop. I came to it already knowing a lot of HTML/CSS, so it was a fantastic review and I really enjoyed the JavaScript. I can't wait to start my next workshop!
This class was so helpful for learning the basics of coding! I feel confident now to create a simple landing page and can't wait to learn more programming skills.
This is my second course with SheCodes. I love the structure of this course - first you have the opportunity to learn from Matt through clear and engaging videos, and then you get plenty of practice through challenges and homework which test and grow your knowledge further. Having the Slack channel available for any questions was also incredibly helpful. I cannot recommend this course enough - thank you to the entire SheCodes team!

The workshop does a great job of breaking down difficult concepts into smaller parts that are easier to understand. The instructor does a great job of explaining and providing many examples. There is also a great support team if you need any assistance. I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in programming, but don't know where to start.
I would recommend this beginners course to anyone interested in learning more about coding. The course was easy to follow. I feel that it was valuable knowledge I can bring with me in my day to day work as a Technical Recruiter. This course has piqued my interest in coding.
I always thought I couldn't learn how to code because I wasn't good at math and struggled with school. SheCodes was a great introduction to coding and made me feel like I had the support and community I needed. The Admins on the Slack channel are really quick to respond and the other students are ready and willing to help if you get stuck. Even though this is just the first step, I'm proud of myself for working through the challenges and coming away with tangible results.

Awesome Basic Workshop! A fantastic beginning class, a great middle between challenging but attainable. I learned a LOT and can't wait to continue on to the other courses. I really enjoyed the challenges at the end of each lesson, which helped to build and solidify my knowledge. I did have to take notes and re-watch some videos, but I quickly learned that's okay! Be kind to yourself and have fun and you will make it through! Matt's videos are easy to understand and follow--great teacher.
After 11 years in healthcare I did not think learning how to code would be so much fun! SheCodes made their material easy to understand, digest and fun. Thank you SheCodes for aiding me in my tech journey.

I took this class for fun and indeed had fun. My partner is a principal full-stack engineer and entrepreneur in residence, and I had a great time learning a bit more about what they do while expanding my personal knowledge for non-professional exploration. The concepts were neat and clearly taught.

I couldn't be happier with the workshop, I just finished the Basics and definitely will continue until the SheCodes Pro. I tried learning coding a year ago thru other ways, it was very hard and upsetting and I stopped, now with SheCodes it was so smooth, I had all the support I needed when I couldn't figure out a coding mistake, the explanations are so clear and easy to understand, honestly only have good things to say about this workshop.

He gives us clear explanation as to why something is the way it is. The classes are easy to follow and informative. I have more fun here than I do at my university. There's great support within the community and I look forward to learning more. I'm studying computer science and it's great to be able to obtain new skills while still being a student.
Among the other courses I took, this one for sure was one of the best.
I'm a 23-year-old college 'dropout' who was lost about the career I wanted to pursue in my future. After discovering what computer programming really consisted of, and starting to learn it by myself, I found SheCodes and I am so thankful that I did. The community and resources available here are a blessing and Matt is a fantastic instructor, and I am excited for my future in the programming space.

Really cool course. I've been interested in coding for a longtime, but was always feeling daunted and didn't know where to start. This course definitely introduced me to coding in a challenging- but also appropriate for a beginner- way. I've learned elements of coding before, so this served as a refresher course in helping cement my skills. Compared to other places I learned from, I found this was far more palatable when learning step-by-step, the explanations were easier to digest, and even something that can get complicated quickly, like JavaScript, was easier to understand.
This workshop has opened my eyes to the potential of a new career path and I could not be more excited. These last 3 weeks have taught me so much, but I know I have a long way to go. Matt is a great teacher and I'm truly grateful for everything he has taught thus far. I'm definitely looking forward to the rest of the program.

There are things that definitely set SheCodes apart from other coding classes. I was reluctant to commit to anything because most try to describe what coding is and what the experience will be like without ever understanding what it means to be an absolute beginner. In the introductory presentation Matt does more than tell, he demystifies coding by showing what it is in an approachable way. That carries through to the lessons too. That's what won me over. I consider this a great investment.

The video included with each lesson was very helpful. I wish each lesson came with literature explaining WHY each of those commands yields its specific function. If I am indeed learning a language, the purpose of certain commands is important to understand more than memorize.
