GREAT BEGINNER COURSE TO GET YOUR FEET WET IN CODING!
After starting but never completing several other online courses; I was able to complete this one because of the bite size breakdowns of some major concepts in HTML, CSS, JavaScript. It's a great jumping off point for beginners.
First of all, it is an amazing experience. To be honest, it was sometimes hard for me as I did not have ANY tech background. I did everything from scratch, from time to time felt desperate but at the end, I should say I am quite happy with myself. I will continue learning other courses for sure!
The smaller lessons mixed with the practical tasks after each lesson made it so much easier to digest and learn from while actually retaining the information. The content is put together well and I fully recommend SheCodes to anyone just starting out!
The at-your-own-pace nature originally made me think this would make things difficult for me as I need deadlines to do practically anything, but there are deadlines so that's good! The course's lessons were in bite-sized chunks making it easy to digest and learn from. I think I've learned more in this 3 week course than what I learned in an actual college C/C++ course.
SheCodes is great! The lessons were easy to understand and I learned so much in such a short time!
Excellent workshop; I explored multiple bootcamps before going with SheCodes, and I have no regrets. Matt is an exceptional instructor, and with how thorough and precise his lectures are, I have quickly grown a confidence in my skills despite being a complete beginner to frontend developing. I have been looking for a career change into the tech field but didn't know where to start. I came across SheCodes randomly during my search and after attended the informational webinar, I decided to give it a try. I am very happy with choosing SheCodes, the courses are well thought out and fairly easy to follow. Coding absolutely requires practice but SheCodes made it easy with their weekly assignments and final projects. I plan to continue my coding journey with SheCodes and hope to finally land a job as a web developer.
This is a great workshop to learn and understand a bit about coding and helps identify if you want to go forward on your coding journey.
I absolutely recommend SheCodes basics to every woman out there who has been wanting to learn how to code but doesn't know where to start! Super affordable and easy to tackle challenges. I will consider taking the next workshop when I get a chance!

Wow...I never imagined that I would learn how to code so quickly! I hated it when I was a kid in school (I couldn't understand it lol), but this time around I really enjoyed learning it from start to finish. I am amazed at how much fun I had learning, even when it was challenging (the SheCodes radio was a lifesaver lol). I am so glad I stumbled upon the ad for SheCodes on Instagram. Matt is an excellent teacher and the resources available are so helpful! I am so very much looking forward to SheCodes Plus and where this knowledge will take me next. If you're on the fence about this, don't be. Just go for it!
SheCodes PLUS definitely deepened my understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript. As I powered through the challenges and homework, I felt grateful for Matt's instruction. Now that I completed SheCodes plus in its entirety with my new improved coding skills, I am ready to take on small projects and begin my freelancing career. I went into this workshop with what was probably negative coding knowledge. I finished Basics in about a week and a half, and I loved it! Matt explains everything in a way that is easy to understand, and if that's not the case for you, there is SO much support from the community! I'm excited to work up to my SheCodes Plus course!
This course was great! Very fun to learn and easy to follow along to Matt's teachings. He made it a breeze to pick up the topics and apply them with each lesson. The help from the staff and fellow shecoders was also invaluable. SheCodes Basics sounds exactly like it is, a basic introduction into web development. I am excited to continue through to the other courses!
SheCodes was a great intro into coding! I feel very comfortable with HTML and CSS -- the JavaScipt portion of the workshop felt rushed, though. I definitely spent more time on the lessons/assignments than suggested, so keep that in mind! I learned a great deal from my time in this workshop and look forward to coding more in the future!

I feel that signing up for SheCodes workshops was one of the best decisions I've ever made! SheCodes Basics is a great starting point for everyone with no coding knowledge. I have thoroughly enjoyed my SheCodes Basic workshop! Although the lessons are self guided, they were extremely thorough and informative. Great program and easy to follow. At first I was really intimidated of coding, but now I can confidently say I want to keep learning to code.
I came into this workshop not knowing anything about coding and I will admit I was super nervous that I wouldn't understand enough for the final project. Even after finishing the first two homework assignments I was worried I wouldn't finish my project in time. If this happens to you please keep going! Once I started working on the final project I realized that I retained way more information than I thought and I cant wait to start the next workshop!
I had zero coding experience before taking this course. Matt made it very easy to follow and fun to do. I loved the aspect of the challenges after each lesson so I could put what I learned to use! I studied engineering, but never took coding classes and didn't realize how vital coding was to my career path until I got my first job. Working with my Controls counterparts taught me a lot, but most of all, it taught me that I had a lot to learn in terms of programming! One of my coworkers took this class and recommended it to me, so I figured I'd give it a shot and am very impressed with the amount of material that we covered in such a short time. It was very fun to make a webpage for the future (currently imaginary) bakery that my sisters want to open, and I learned a lot!
SheCodes Basics was a tremendous help in providing the necessary courses for the basics of coding, and the classes ended up inspiring me to continue coding through SheCodes. Doing the course actually helped me find a new niche of people and things I now love to do, regardless of how difficult the current material may be. Plus, with the additional resources and the videos provided, I never felt there was a time when I was overwhelmed to the point I was stuck since I could turn for help at any moment!

I joined the SheCodes Basics workshop to try something new. I was a little worried about not having any prior knowledge of coding, but once I started the lessons I was greatly surprised and intrigued by how the source material was presented, how engaging the challenges were and the flexibility of the workshop. Overall, it was a great and enjoyable experience.
I finished this in a week because the lessons were great and slack provides that human interaction. a lot of classes are just videos with no way to communicate with anyone regarding questions. This brought me back to myspace days when I would rush home to mess around with code all day!! highly recommend it.
No bootcamp I've tried has ever stuck with me like this one. So grateful!! Excited for what comes next.

3 months ago I didn't even know how to write a single line of HTML and now I've created 4 projects with SheCodes! I just turned 42- you are never to old to start something new. Matt and the SheCodes team are absolutely amazing. This is unlike any other bootcamp or workshop you may have tried before. The video's are structured in a way that anyone can learn. The community of teaching assistants Slack and other students are always there to help with any questions. The timing of the workshops can be done around any schedule - work, school kids if you have 15 minutes you have time for SheCodes. Thank you to Matt and the entire team for helping pursue new career opportunities.
This has been an amazing learning experience. I had a limited knowledge of coding beforehand but remembered how much I enjoyed it in school. It would benefit my career so I decided to take the courses. Best decision ever! Cannot recommend SheCodes enough. Great teachers, helpful community, and fun projects. After years of debating what kind of coding course would be right for me, I couldn't be happier with my decision to go with SheCodes. I am extremely impressed by how thorough, clear, and fun Matt makes all of the lessons - I genuinely look forward to watching the next lesson and tackling something new. The structure of the course provides a wonderful balance between learning a little bit in each lesson but also moving through an entire chapter of content each week. I never feel overwhelmed with how much I'm learning in each lesson, and yet by the end of the week I feel accomplished and like I've covered some good ground. I couldn't recommend this course enough for those who are feeling on the fence about learning code. I didn't think the experience of learning code could be so fun, and I think you'll find the same thing to be true!

SheCodes was a fun way to learn a useful skill! The deadlines are helpful to keep on track, but you're also able to work ahead if you like or get an extension if need be. The course is broken up into manageable mini-lessons, all of which are clean and concise. I love that Matt encourages searching for solutions yourself and also teaches how to look for answers on Google. I feel like I accomplished a goal and had the chance to be creative! Thank you for a great experience and a jumping-off point for learning more coding skills!

The Basics workshop was so much fun! Thank you, SheCodes, for making coding fun to learn and accessible. The material is well-organized and strikes just the right balance between theoretical knowledge and practical application. I especially appreciate Matt's knack as a teacher 1) to frame the concepts in clear and memorable terms, 2) to pace how quickly new material gets introduced and digested, and 3) to tailor explanations pragmatically to what we need to know yet without dumbing any of it down merely because we're neophytes. I come from a health care background looking to transition to the digital and technological world. I saw many opportunities for bootcamps, self-paced studies, and other coding resources but what I loved about SheCodes is that it gave me structure. I am well capable of learning on my own, but because I am so new to the industry, I didn't know where to even start. SheCodes Basic was an amazing experience. The lectures are very straightforward and filled with all the information you will need to succeed in completing all the lesson challenges and final project. The video lectures never got too long and monotonous, Matt did a great job organizing and blocking certain topics and following it up with a hands on challenge. He also gave the solutions after each challenge with the opportunity to resubmit and correct your work if necessary. Help was always available through the Slack chat and a team member always responded within a timely manner. This course was a great introduction to solidifying my future plans. I will be continuing this journey and diving in deeper! Thank you Matt and Team for helping me understand this whole new world of computer language!

This workshop was a great introduction to coding. I love that the lessons are very thorough and then you have to apply each concept right away. SheCodes Basics was a great beginners course! I had some prior HTML/CSS knowledge from my MySpace days, but the instructor, Matt, did a great job going a little deeper into each topic. Javascript was brand new to me, so Week 2 was a little trickier but rewarding. Matt did a good job providing a clear overview of JavaScript basics. I loved all the exercises after each lesson, and I thought the weekly homework was an awesome way to put what I learned into practice. Overall, the course was appropriately challenging and fun!

This is easily the best $100 I've ever spent! I had always been told coding was only for people who are "really good at math". I'm glad I enrolled despite apprehensions. The class was so straight forward and easy to follow. Can't wait to continue developing skills for a career as a front end developer.
