I discovered SheCodes on a podcast that helps teachers transition into a new career. I never would have thought it was possible for me to learn and enjoy coding so much in just 3 weeks! Thanks to Matt and his team at SheCodes I now feel my career transition is possible. I look forward to taking the other workshops SheCodes offers!
I really enjoyed the workshops, I felt like I definitely learned a lot and was able to actually implement the lessons on my work.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this workshop. It has been fun and simple. Easy to learn and would definently suggest this to woman who wants to get into the software engineer field.
I have always been interested in learning to code, however I never thought it was something I could do because I don't have a masters in computer science. Taking the SheCodes course has helped me learn and understand the basics of coding. I was scrolling through Instagram one day, and came across SheCodes 1 hour intro to coding, as soon as I finished the free intro I signed up for the basics course just to see if I would like it. Half way through the basics course, I decided I wanted to learn more, so I signed up for the plus course. It's really nice having the SheCodes slack community to help when you get stuck, or frustrated. It also helped keep me motivated. I love that there are deadlines, and homework, because it helps me set a schedule for myself. Rather than it being at your own pace, because then I'd never get around to actually doing it.
Just a few short weeks ago, the thought of having to code an entire webpage seemed incredibly daunting. Thanks to Matt and the SheCodes team, I see now that it is completely possible! The lesson videos are very comprehensible, and the challenges and homework assignments helped keep me on track throughout the course. I have learned so much in the past few weeks, and am becoming more confident in my coding abilities. I am already looking forward to beginning the next course!
SheCodes Basic really helped me gain a basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Before taking the course I had no prior knowledge of coding or computer science. Matt really helped to breakdown each lesson within the language and made it easy to understand for beginners! I would highly recommend and hope to continue my SheCodes education myself!
I went into SheCodes with very little prior knowledge of html, css, or javascript. I would like to become a front-end developer and this course really helped jumpstart me in the right direction. The course really helps you learn how to learn which is SO helpful when it comes to languages.

I've never really considered myself to be a computer genius, so the idea of me coding seemed impossible. That being said, I decided to take a chance on participating in the SheCodes Basics Workshop, and I am so glad I did!! I still have a lot of learning to do, but these past 3 weeks have shown me that coding isn't as intimidating as I originally believed. I personally loved this program. I wanted a chance to understand the basic tools of coding in hopes of pursuing my dream job of being a software engineer. I really enjoyed learning through SheCodes. I love the way the classes are laid out. It was nice to have short videos, fun projects to do, and after you submit your projects, the solutions are provided. It really helped me learn a lot and I'm really excited to move on to the advanced classes!

I loved this program! I knew absolutely nothing about HTML, CSS or JavaScript and Matt made the learning process fun. The program is paced perfectly with assignments that actually use the skills you are learning. I'm excited for the next workshop!
SheCodes blew away my expectations! I had taken a class last month on coding basics, but didn't really learn much. After finding this workshop I'm glad I signed up. It taught me way more than I ever thought would be in a beginner coding class. Matt explained everything in such a simple and yet knowledgeable way and all the lessons were very well laid out and easy to understand. I was a little nervous to start something new that I had no idea about. I knew this was something I could possibly see myself doing and after taking the introductory course I want to continue on this path! The lessons were challenging but Matt makes them easy to follow. This is the start of a career change and I couldn't be more excited!
This basics course was an excellent beginning to coding! I honestly learned so much and am still excited to learn more. The courses are short and sweet. I really enjoyed learning the process a small step at a time. I'm an illustrator (now seeking a career as a front-end developer) and this was entirely new knowledge to me, but from the way that these lessons were taught, I learned the coding basics pretty quickly. Excited for the next course!
The world of coding is a bit intimidating for someone like me. My full career has been based around customer service and hospitality. SheCodes, and Matt, helped me realize that even after 10 years post college, I can learn something brand new! I hope to continue to grow my coding knowledge and one day transfer these skills into my career path!

The format for this course made it easy for me as a new mom. I was able to complete a few lessons at time with my busy schedule and not feel overwhelmed. This course has given me some confidence to move forward in learning more and hopefully branching out towards a new career!
Matt was amazing at breaking down the course so that you are fully able to understand coding. This course is not too overwhelming and there is always help when you need it.
I appreciated the "go at your own pace" approach to this workshop, and that it truly focused on the basics. I feel like I have a better high level understanding of the role of a coder.
I'm a 23-year-old college 'dropout' who was lost about the career I wanted to pursue in my future. After discovering what computer programming really consisted of, and starting to learn it by myself, I found SheCodes and I am so thankful that I did. The community and resources available here are a blessing and Matt is a fantastic instructor, and I am excited for my future in the programming space.
SheCodes has been fantastic! The videos explain each part just enough to understand what to do, but doesn't give away every detail so you have to figure out somethings on your own. Matt is a great teacher! The timeline for each week is perfectly spaced out. I was able to spend just over 5 hours each week on my assignments. I ended up spending a lot longer on my final project by choice! I'm so happy to have found this class and I can't wait to sign up for the next workshop!

SheCodes was a great way to learn coding. The setup makes it really easy to balance with a full-time job and work at my own pace week to week.
I thoroughly enjoyed learning something new and taking a chance on this coding course. I think coding is going to be an important skill to learn in the future and a lot more people should join in, especially women. It takes some patience and logical steps to understand the concepts of coding, but anyone can really learn it!
I love the way Matt incrementally brings all the concepts together. The lessons are brief, clear, and informative.
Great workshop! Extremely useful for total beginners like me to start figuring how JS works. The journey has been super fun despite some major understanding challenges, and it certainly provided me with a nice foundation to keep exploring and building up knowledge.

Before finding SheCodes, the thought of going to a coding bootcamp was very intimidating. I didn't know a single thing about coding or if I would even be good at it, so I was hesitant to fork over several thousand dollars to find out. When I lost my job in COVID, I knew I needed to make a career change. I started looking into different coding bootcamp/workshop options and saw that SheCodes had a free intro class! In that first session all my questions were answered and I realized while Matt was live coding that this was something I was totally capable of. The next day I signed up for SheCodes basics and I am so glad I did! I just completed the course and will be moving on to SheCodes Plus :) SheCodes has put me on the path to a brighter future and I am so grateful!
This course was a challenge but I really enjoyed it and learned a lot that I can use to advance my marketing career.
The tutorials were aimed at many different levels and were easy to understand. I learned a lot and am now more interested in coding.

SheCodes Basics was my first introduction to Coding. I wanted to learn to code for a while. After taking the free coding class, I knew SheCodes was where I wanted to start my journey! The lessons were easy to follow Matt did a great job providing multiple examples and giving us a chance to try it before providing a solution. Also, I felt so much support during going through this workshop. If I was ever stuck I could reach out to classmates or the SheCodes support team. I can't wait to continue my journey with SheCodes!
I really liked the intro class pace and the information covered. I already had some coding experience as a graphic designer but this helped me build more confidence and understanding on the code side of website and design, not just the aesthetic and adobe side.

Having tried other coding boot camps and courses before, I discovered SheCodes and decided to try out the free class. Seeing that everything clicked for me, I decided to join the 3-week workshop. It was a blast and I felt I actually learned some basic coding and I feel confident on my journey to become a software engineer.

This course is so much fun! I, unfortunately, took long breaks in between but I would recommend doing the assignments/projects as close to each other as possible and avoiding extensions. However, life happens, and just make sure to take good notes so when you go back to it you are not completely lost.
Effective and affordable! The Basics workshop gave me valuable coding skills that will make me a better digital marketer, and the deadlines were flexible enough to accommodate my unpredictable multi-job schedule while still holding me accountable. This is a great way for freelancers to upskill!

SheCodes broke things down into easy and manageable chunks that worked well together. Each lesson led into the next in a logical manner that made grasping the concepts a lot easier. It was the perfect place for me to start getting back into coding, allowing me that refresher while also teaching me new things along the way. SheCodes taught me that you can learn a new skill at any age and in any life stage. i thought i was meant to only thrive in a public health setting, as i'm currently pursuing a master's in public health. however, after working though matt's accessible & fun workshops, i was reminded how awesome it was to not only learn but also start to really *get* a new skill very intuitively. ty matt i love SheCodes basics :)

One of the reasons I like this workshop is that itβs flexible with my schedule and takes a short amount of time to complete. This workshop allows participants to familiarize themselves with coding and comprehend the benefits that it may provide in a variety of professions. This fundamental workshop is well-organized and simple to follow through. It enables us to learn how to code in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. However, using the skills we learned in this workshop, we were able to construct, design, and edit our own websites.
I very much enjoyed the SheCodes Basic course. The pacing was great - I work full time and was worried about managing it with my job. It was difficult enough that I felt I truly learned the basics, but broken up in a way it was very easy to fit into my schedule. As someone who knew next to nothing going in, this was an awesome intro!
I love learning with SheCodes! From the detailed presentations, all the way down to CatCodes. π― My confidence has only grown since day one, plus studying alongside a resourceful community is amazing! Thank you Matt Delac and everyone involved, for helping us expand our coding knowledge!

I took this class as an introduction to see if coding is a path that I would consider pursuing. The activities were very interesting and engaging, applying all the skills that you learned that week. I fell in love with learning to code back in the Basics course and took the plunge to further my knowledge. While I found it more of a challenge this round, I'm super proud of myself to continue my journey and learn more in-depth ways to program using HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I definitely plan on creating more projects and continuing to learn new skills with SheCodes!

This workshop was the perfect balance of guided and hands on. I was really motivated to learn more and try new things! My biggest takeaway is that I was duped for years thinking coding was something impossible for me to do.
Honestly, for something I knew nothing about previously, I really enjoyed this class and think this could be potentially something I'd like to do in the future.

I truly loved this workshop! I started this workshop because I've always been curious about coding and wanted to learn something new. After completing the 3 week intro workshop I can honestly say I was genuinely impressed. The lessons were clear and easy to understand. The challenge assignments and homework were carefully crafted to optimize learning and foster critical thinking skills. Additionally, help was constantly available via the Slack platform and the SheCodes team responded to questions quickly. This course does take time to complete, but it is entirely possible to complete it with a full time work load (for reference I am a full time grad student and work part-time). I can't wait to sign up for the next workshop and continue to learn with SheCodes!
I greatly enjoyed the SheCodes Basics workshop. The organized structure of the workshop made the concepts easy to understand. I am excited to utilize the new skills that I have learned.
This workshop has been amazing. I took a few computer science classes during college but never got the hang of it. I remember getting so frustrated I'd cry even after I started getting help from upperclassmen. This workshop made it so much easier to understand. Now I actually enjoy coding and hope to learn more.

SheCodes is my first step into learning about code. I enjoy the set up, its easy to understand but still offers a challenge when it comes to finding solutions. I am currently working in healthcare but I would like to eventually step out of the field. I love that I can do SheCodes from home on my free time since I do work full-time, and going back to school isn't in my budget at the moment so SheCodes is an affordable option for me to learn.
