The SheCodes Basics course enabled me to obtain a fundamental understanding of coding in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The course length and format were perfect for my needs and learning style.
My confidence in coding has increased significantly- just with this basic workshop. I appreciate how you already dive into both HTML and CSS at the same time. I was brand new to JavaScript. It can be challenge in understanding the logic and syntaxes but man once it clicks...it clicks! I am already looking forward to the next workshops!
SheCodes Plus was so challenging yet I leave this course feeling really fulfilled and accomplished. I learned so many new things and I can't wait to show off my weather project! :)
I studied graphic designing and I am currently living in Minnesota. I am absolutely new to coding but I was always curious to know how code works and I decided to take my curiosity to a step ahead and decided to learn code π.

I had a really great time learning with SheCodes. There were times when I was a bit frustrated but I pushed through and got my work done. I managed to have a friend who is a dev for 11 years help me along the way which I owe alot to him for the help! I could not have done it with out him!
I really enjoyed everything about this. Coming into this with no prior experience and little to no knowledge, I was super intimidated at first but after getting though this first workshop, I feel SO confident to continue on. I'm glad I made this decision.

SheCodes Basic was perfect for an absolute beginner. The lessons were very well structured with the explanation, homework, and then solution. If a question needed answering, the Slack channel contained all previous questions asked/answered and also allowed for help from others.

When I decided to try out SheCodes, I was hoping to refresh my memory on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. My experience with coding has mostly been using more object-oriented languages like Java and Python. More than expected, I was able to build a much better responsive website through the SheCodes workshop compared to when I first started. It was nice to relearn the basics and it helped me discover a passion for responsive web design. I hope to build on more from what I learned here and see where it takes me.

During the pandemic, I began to really think about what I wanted to be doing with my time. I no longer found joy from the work I was doing and I wanted more financial, time and location freedom and I have found that in coding. SheCodes has been a great start to my coding journey. I dream about it at night and when I'm at work, its all I can think about. Its such an empowering course but it definitely opens the doors to all that is possible. So glad I took the leap to take the course because there's no turning back now!
So far I have had a great experience with SheCodes. I have learned a lot in the basics workshop and I am excited to complete more workshops!

The SheCodes Basics workshop provides a great, well-paced introduction into coding. Matt is an engaging instructor, and the lessons are easy to understand and put into practice while remaining on track. There's a number of coding tools for self-service. The customer success team and teaching assistants provide support and encouragement when needed. There's also a global community of students available to help. If you're slightly curious about coding, I highly recommend it!

I thoroughly enjoyed this course. Starting out as someone with no experience coding, I appreciated how each element of HTML, CSS, and JS were broken down into small, easily digestible lessons and then being challenged to apply the material immediately to solidify the content. I've had a lot of fun playing around with what I've been learning in general, which was a pleasant surprise! I highly recommend this class for anyone.

I began my coding journey with SheCodes Basics about a month ago. SheCodes Plus was challenging, but I have learned so much and am incredibly proud of myself! I cannot wait to continue learning with Responsive and React. SheCodes has helped me have the confidence to learn how to code and has opened new doors for me.
Matt's instructional videos were short, but concise and easy to follow. I loved that there is a community to ask for help and that after you submit and assignment there is a video with the solution for you to check your work.
SheCodes has helped me gain more hands-on coding practice and I have enjoyed connecting with other women from all over the world that are on the same journey.

After finishing SheCodes Basics I was extremely excited to continue my coding journey. My favorite part about coding is being able to be creative and literally start from scratch and create anything you want! I learned so much during these past 8 weeks and it has only driven me to continue my coding journey. I've learned a lot about myself as well. At times my patience was really tested and I got frustrated at times but I learned if I continued trying, watched the videos again, and/or asked for help on Slack I was able to figure out a solution. I'm so happy with how my Weather App came out and I'm looking forward to the next step!
Comfortable, flexible, easy to understand course.
I've been dabbling in different fields for years! I wasn't sure what my "niche" was or what direction I wanted to take my life. Once I started this program I immediately fell in love and can confidently move forward to become a woman in tech! I am beyond excited to see what doors will open with these new skills.

SheCodes is a great platform for all students and professionals. Although the courses are pre-recorded, the amount of live support you get from peers and instructors are amazing! SheCodes makes it easy for those with personal and work responsibilities continue to learn without feeling overwhelmed.
I'm very glad I took this course, it was more user-friendly than I had expected and I am impressed with the challenges, homework, and final product. The course was easy to fit into my hectic and busy schedule and I was not sure I'd be able to finish, but the bite-sized lessons really made it manageable! I also liked how the deadlines kept me going, that was definitely necessary :). I would be interested in taking more advanced courses!

I enjoyed participating in the SheCodes Basics workshop. Before signing up for the SheCodes React workshop package I looked around at a lot of different virtual learning options and was more drawn to the overall look and feel of SheCodes. I like that it seems approachable. That may feel small to someone more experienced, but for me it made all the difference. The lessons are broken down into easily digestible subsections, are very concise, and build upon the prior lesson so one gains a cumulative skillset without even acknowledging it. Additionally, Matt is easy to listen to and unintentionally funny. Having open access to the SheCodes slack channels is also an amazing learning tool. It's easy to get caught up and bogged down in the minutiae of whatever one may be building/debugging. Reading thru the slack and testing other people's code can help one to look at their own project differently with new eyes. I'm honestly really proud of what I made for this final project with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

SheCodes has definitely been so enjoyable, I started the workshops for my love of tech and women empowerment. And I got that and more. For someone who has a Marketing degree and no experience in coding, Matt's learning style makes even a beginner feel welcomed, and the content easy to digest.

Before this course, I was looking to develop new hard skills for my career. I signed up for this course on a whim, never having had ANY prior experience nor exposure to coding. I truly had no idea what to expect. So I told myself "let me just try this and see where it goes". And it was one of the best decisions I've made for my self-development! Matt is an excellent teacher, and he balances just the right amount of teaching & challenging you to find your own answers. At times, I got very frustrated with learning Javascript in particular (it honestly looked like gibberish at first), but like learning any new language, it comes more naturally with time and repetition. This course was very empowering, and has opened up a whole new world for me. I had so much fun! I highly recommend to any women looking to develop new skills for their current career, or women even considering a career change. I also highly recommend if you're a creative person that enjoys problem solving. Thank you, Matt and SheCodes team!

I absolutely love the SheCodes workshops. I am a single mother of two preschoolers, so I did not want to take on a full work load of going back to school. However, Matt made the SheCodes workshops super easy and fun; and has opened up a world of new possibilities. I encourage all women to give it a try.
It was a challenging workshop when your working fulltime, and have normal things going on in life,( unexpected events, people, things) happening in life, but all that being said it was fascinating, learning the languages, and what your able to do with them, pretty damn coo! I want to continue my journey with coding, but now with a more realistic view of what it going to take, and you need to carve out more time then what is said for the programs, like I timed myself every week for the 3 week course, and even though it says 5 hours, it ended up being closer to 10 hours per week, and 5 for the last week. Matt did a good job, although some of the courses I feel like he went a little to fast for beginner level learners. All in all i enjoyed this process.
The content is easy to understand and in-depth.
As someone who would stray away from coding because it seemed intimidating, I had so much fun during this workshop! I can definitely use these coding skills to learn other languages.

I really appreciate how the lessons are broken up and how the videos are structured. They are all a reasonable length and easy to understand. When I decided to transition into tech, I had no idea where to even begin. I didn't know how vast the field was. Im thankful for Matt and his team for creating this workshop. Very easy and fun to interact with, especially for those who didn't have any development experience (like myself). This workshop definitely gives you an idea of what to expect, the very basics of front/back end development. I love the message behind the workshop! This was a fun journey, even though I had to stop a couple of times. However, the explanation was so great, that once I picked up where I left off, it was like I never stopped. The knowledge was wired into my brain!! Thank you guys again, this was really fun! For all those who are hesitant, this is the sign for you to sign up! You wont regret it !!!

I learned so much during this course. I wasn't sure I was able to grasp it all, but Matt made it really easy to understand and broke down each concept. I was able to build on the Basics course and learn more advanced HTML, CSS, and Javascript while also learning about API and Hosting. I can't believe I made a weather app from scratch that actually uses real data!
