It was a very cool experience to dive into the world of coding in the 3 week workshop! I definitely learned a lot and can't wait to practice more and sharpen my skills!
Before doing SheCodes basics I didn't know anything about coding. I can't believe how much I learned in just the first course. I am so excited to learn more and I can't wait to continue my journey with SheCodes.
If you are thinking about joining SheCodes...DO IT! This experience has been one of the most rewarding things I've done in a really long time. I was intimidated coming from a non-tech background but that changed immediately after the first lesson. Matt and the support team are FANTASTIC and help you every step of the way. Learning to code has become and obsession of mine these days and I'm so grateful I came across this bootcamp. Very excited to continue on with the other workshops and see where it takes me. Doing the first SheCodes workshop was amazing. I was a complete beginner when I started. I now feel like a strong foundation to continue building my skills.

I recently took an intro course with another company, and the difference in curriculum was interesting. The way topics are broken down and explained in SheCodes is easy to navigate and understand. This is the first coding workshop that I have been able to learn and RETAIN actual coding skills! Other workshops may state that they are for beginners, but often show concepts and skills that an absolute beginner wouldn't know anything about. I was frustrated and unsure of my future as a software developer until SheCodes. Now I can proudly present a small project that I finished in under a month and can't wait to continue building on my skills with the next SheCodes workshop.
This was a great introductory course. The lessons were concise and allowed the user to review as needed. I especially appreciated the challenges, homework, and final project. This gave me a way to see my work in action.

I've been interested in coding for awhile, this workshop made me accountable for taking the first leap to see what it's all about.
SheCodes has been an enjoyable, no-stress way for me to dip my toe into the pool of coding. I feel confident in what I've learned so far, really enjoyed both the creative + the logical side of coding, and am excited to dive into the next workshop to learn more complex ideas.
I stumbled upon SheCodes by accident and I am glad I did! The course is a perfectly structured program with a skilled and informative team. SheCodes gives women the tools to build something magical. It was a great experience and I am excited to go on to the next workshop! :)
After taking SheCodes Basic I grew more fascinated with coding and decided to take SheCodes Plus. I learned so many helpful things that I didn't think I could learn when I first started, I can't wait to try out SheCodes Pro soon!
I've been intrigued by coding for a while and SheCodes Basics was perfect for me to finally try it out. SheCodes Basics has great information for beginners and I didn't find it overwhelming. The videos were very helpful and I appreciated the challenges to help us practice after learning something new. I really enjoyed the workshops and starting to code!
I already had quite a bit of experience in HTML and CSS, though I haven't used either in maybe a decade so this class was a fantastic review for me. It was also a great introduction to Javascript and I had a lot of fun working on lesson problems, homework, and especially the project!
I'm excited to complete the workshops and see what opportunity open for me.
I have really enjoyed this workshop. With the skills I have learned, the sky is the limit! Matt taught me things like elements and attributes, but the most important thing he taught me was how to solve problems that appear in your code by using universal resources. That skill is everlasting.
SheCodes was everything I was hoping for and more! I've always been intimidated by the idea of coding, and thought it would be too complicated for me. SheCodes squashed those fears immediately and was so incredibly welcoming! I learned so much and had an amazing time learning the basics - I'm excited to see how I can use my new skills in my job!

This course so great, I wish I knew about it before. Either way I am grateful to know about it now. Mat did an excellent job breaking down the lesson and applying to the next project. If you save properly you can always go back and relearn earlier that week or 2 weeks ago. I love how we applied everything we learn at the end of the course to create something beautiful, something on our own.

The learning structure is so easy to follow. I loved how they would introduce a simple aspect ensure that you understood it, then added a complex aspect to it.
Definitely a great workshop. I never thought I could code and seeing the results on each homework assignment was amazing. A worthwhile investment.
This class is a game changer. It's more than just sitting here listening to someone talk. Practice makes perfect, and this class allows you to work at your own pace, and continue to expand on the work as you like.

I came in with the pursuit of general knowledge and I leave with a genuine interest in this field. As an actor, I thrive on creating an artistic environment from the ground up and I never thought I would have so much fun creating something from nothing through a computer. The ability to make something exactly how I envision in real time, is a artistic experience everyone should see for themselves. Truly a wonderful couple of weeks and I look forward to gaining more coding knowledge in the future.

Prior to SheCodes I had zero working knowledge of code. This workshop made learning the fundamentals of code interesting and fun. As someone that works full time, the structure of this workshop made learning code very digestible. I look forward to expanding my knowledge of code with SheCodes.

The JavaScript was definitely challenging, but help was always available on Slack (shoutout to Bruno and João) ☺️. I'm proud of my final project with real data! I have a much better understanding of HTML, CSS and Bootstrap. Looking forward to learning more about JS in the responsive and react workshops.
This was a challenging course but in the end I feel I am a better coder! It was fun learning the different javascript functions and watching the app come to life because of it.

The free workshop was EXACTLY what I needed to finally make the jump into coding that I had been thinking about for so long, and the Basic workshop solidified my hunger for more. I had no prior experience with coding. I've learned a lot during this workshop. The videos and instructions were easy to follow. I had fun creating my own website and seeing my progress.
Another workshop down and I feel like I know that much more. It's gratifying to be able to put together a whole responsive website that highlights my other work as much as it does itself, and continues building the skills I've been working on. One step closer to being a more well rounded developer!

SheCodes Responsive is my favorite SheCodes workshop so far. I enjoyed getting creative designing my final project, learning strategies of responsive design and SEO, and putting everything together that we've learned in the other workshops. I'm ecstatic to now have coded my very own portfolio.
What an engaging and fun introduction to coding! Matt's step-by-step videos were exactly what I needed to get into coding without getting overwhelmed! While going through this course, I laughed, I shouted, and I learned A LOT. Plus, I love the org's overall mission and the meaningful impact SheCodes has worldwide.
I have never coded in my life until this workshop and I found it to be super understandable. Each lesson was mainly followed by a practice right after which helped greatly. The final project was fun and enjoyable even though I stumbled upon a few challenges. Great way to introduce yourself to coding!
I learned a lot from the basic workshop I took. It seemed like a lot of information because I'm very new to coding, but it was interesting, easy to learn and the assignments/homework were fun to do. If you're on the fence about taking this course, just do it, it's a great way to find if coding is right for you. I'm looking forward to learning more in a more advanced workshop.
This experienced helped me learn how coding works by seeing it in a visual format. It made coding a fun activity for me and made my coding class at school easier.

I really enjoyed the freedom of learning on my own schedule. With SheCodes I was able to start on any Monday of the month. I really enjoyed how Matt took the time to help us solve the problem, without feeling rushed. As a person that is new to UX Design, I found this workshop to be helpful in learning basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

SheCodes Basics has been really wonderful. I got to learn basics of HTML, CSS and Javascript and put all those knowledge in use while working on the project. The challenges at the end of each lesson really test your understanding which I feel was very helpful. I would definitely encourage women who are thinking in terms of coding to try the Basics workshop. It is fun, enjoyable and you get to learn actual coding !!!

Simply amazing! I cant believe I learned how to code a basic webpage in two and a half weeks. The last time I ever manipulated a HTML was to add music on MySpace in 2005. I did not think that I would be able to pick up this skill so quickly but with Matt's guidance and thorough explanation through each solution I was able to practice and produce a functional visible code starting from a blank page.
Absolutely LOVED this!! I loved the set up of learn, challenge, solution. I learned so much and I want to learn more!! I feel so confident in what I have learned.
I’ve always wanted to learn web development and chose SheCodes because it allowed me to learn anytime. As a full time working parent, finding an online course that I could fit into my schedule was really important. I was able to learn a lot and put it together to create project, something I wasn’t able to do with other online tutorials. Matthew does a great job of explaining everything. I would highly recommend.
