As a math educator looking to transition into the world of tech, I wanted to find a program that was not only affordable, but meaningful to my interests in this new field. I've also been a coding coach for a program that allowed me to teach other young girls how to embrace the world of technology within STEM; so finding myself working with SheCodes truly brought out my young, intelligent mind and excitement! Completing just the Basics Workshop has me thrilled to want to pursue the next levels of learning code (and essentially become a Front-end Developer). I send a BIG THANK YOU to Matt and many others who have created such a space where women can come together and sort through this world of technology in a convenient matter of time.
Matts teaching style was great, he easily broke down daunting looking codes into simple pieces you could understand then tied it all together at the end of the lesson. This is a great intro course to CSS, HTML, JAVA, and Visual Studio and I would recommend it to anyone who is curious about coding or learning a new skill. This course also provided a creative outlet for me that I wasn't expecting, and that was one of the most rewarding things about this course.
I am looking to make a big career transition and I think SheCodes is the perfect path for me to accomplish this big milestone in my life! As somebody who has spent many years in college, I think this course is very well structured. The team really does a wonderful job at making you feel heard/seen for a class that isn't in person or through zoom like a traditional class. You guys are doing a fantastic job with the support!
I was always nervous about signing up for an online class for coding because I was worried that the content wouldn't be thorough enough and I wouldn't be able to get support after I made my purchase. After attending the free information session that Matt gave, I felt like SheCodes was a trustworthy organization. For the price of the course, I was so surprised at how in-depth each lesson was and I loved getting the validation of a real human checking my homework and letting me know I was doing everything right; that is something that worried me with other courses β nobody would be able to confirm if I was actually learning the material correctly. Matt is easy to follow along with and does a great job articulating his thought process and clarifying when something could be easily confused. I think the price of this course in contrast to what's provided proves that Matt created these courses with the intention to make this industry more accessible to women, not to get rich.
This course is so easy to follow that you can start and stop without worrying about messing up your progress. The lessons are broken down into very digestible pieces of information and you can move through them very quickly. I love the function to speed up the videos for when I just need to review one part. I would recommend this course to anyone even remotely interested in coding!
SheCodes introductory training was somewhat easy to follow with Matt's informative video that you can slow down, rewind etc if needed. I found myself able to keep a good pace and am still finding coding fun. Really glad i learned about SheCodes.
SheCodes is great for hands-on + visual learning. The way the classes are structured makes it easy to follow along and the material is digestible. I loved the courses and having homework at the end of the week it allowed for true flexibility. I know from this workshop I'm well on my way to being an amazing web-developer!

SheCodes beats all the other coding lessons I've tried in the past. The homework deadlines provide me the accountability to turn in my work in time, and the lessons are full of information yet manageable and taught in a way that's approachable. Plus, the slack community is very helpful. I never knew coding could be fun until I tried SheCodes.

I almost didn't sign up for this 3 week workshop. I honestly thought I couldn't do it and it was going to be super tough, too much for me to handle. BUT Matt does an excellent job teaching it step by step. I didn't know anything about coding or how it worked. Now I know the basics and I cannot wait to learn more!

This program is a great introduction to coding, easy to use and help was only a click away if needed.
The lessons are relatively short and cover a lot. However, I think you just need to play around with functions to get a better understanding on how things work.
I never thought I could learn how to code . It seemed like only something people steeped in tech would know how to do. BUT this class makes it easy ! I was able to go step-by-step and dissect each concept. It's a great place to start and you learn so much in a short time.

This is a great beginner course to HTML, CSS and Javacript. Matt sets you up to work at your best potential with tips while encouraging you to expand on the knowledge given and seek out new elements on your own.
The Basics Workshop did an excellent job of making it very easy to learn and practice what was learned real time, to set the student on the path of basic web development. I have already been able to easily build upon what I learned to make the page appear and function differently according to my liking with simple google searches on JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. I really loved this workshop! While I knew some of the basics, I still felt like this workshop was paramount in giving me the proper foundation to continue on to the other ones and be successful. I have been working as a Sales professional for 15 years and am looking to transition out of that career, as I have gotten burnt out over the years and need something more to challenge me, and I also wanted a career that I could utilize my artistic side as well. This seemed to tick all those boxes! My daughter is also taking the SheCodes courses. I wasn't sure I would be able to do it, as I am obviously quite a bit older than my daughter but with her encouragement HERE I AM! I just signed up for the SheCodes Pro so there is no turning back now!

I've wanted to learn more about coding and while I was on maternity leave, I saw an AD for the 60 min Free Coding Class. Love SheCodes! I knew next to nothing when I started SheCodes basics, but now I feel confident in my understanding of these fundamentals. The lessons were easy to follow and learn from and being able to be self-paced meant I could easily complete this course with my busy schedule.
This was taught in small, easy-to-follow sections and had great exercises that let you immediately practice what you had learned. So no matter your learning style, this is designed in a way that works.
SheCodes basic was a great intro to the coding world! Matt's quick how-to videos have just the right amount of information followed by challenges that allow you to practice. I also liked that Matt leaves room for you to figure things out for yourself. You will have to think outside the box, use Google, to assist in figuring out the challenges and homework. I'm proud of my final project and impressed with the skills that I attained in such a short amount of time.
What an eye-opening learning experience! I was never interested in coding because I was scared I would never understand it, but SheCodes Basics changed my mind, and now I'm hooked. The workshop was carefully structured, and the videos weren't too long or overwhelming, which is a plus for a beginner. As a mechanical engineer, I was excited to start a new journey and learn more about coding since I found it challenging when I was learning C++ however shecodes Basics made it easy to learn html, CSS and Java! Cant wait to try the next courses!
The videos break everything down super simple which makes learning easy. They're also broken down into small clips and challenges which really helps for people with short attention spans or constant distractions. I really loved this class and all the resources that comes with it such as Slack, Color Palettes, and more. I would definitely recommend to anyone interested in learning coding.
SheCodes helps me stay motivated with deadlines, but also allows me to be creative when I have time. With working full-time AND learning to code, my schedule is packed. SheCodes has been great since it's mostly self-paced.
I've tried programming in the past but found it challenging without up-to-date resources or communities. This class actually got me excited about programming again! It was not easy sometimes, but once you get a grip on it, a whole new world will suddenly open.
