My best friend had recently begun to learn coding and I was excited for her but also not super familiar with what that meant as a career path. I happened across the free coding class from SheCodes and I was intrigued, if only to get a better understanding of what my friend is learning. The class really opened my eyes to what learning coding can do for a career pivot, especially for women. I decided to try the SheCodes basics course and I'm so excited to learn more! This platform really takes away the intimidation factor that I think scares away a lot of people. I have never considered myself a math or tech savvy person. This course has helped me focus on digesting the concepts, rather than getting caught up in self-conscious anxiety about whether I have enough technical understanding to do this. I also love that this course includes lots of challenges and projects that get the learner actively using the skills that are being taught. I also love that there is reliable online support to turn to when you get stuck and need help! This course has been so amazing and I love telling my other female friends about it in case they want to try it.
SheCodes made learning something new fun! Now I feel more confident in my abilities I as I continue to study code!
SheCodes moves quickly - In just three weeks, I understood code that had flummoxed me in the past. Every concept was explained with real-life examples, so I was able to connect new code with things I see online every day.

This was a fun and easy way to learn basic coding. If you have no idea if you'd even like coding this is a wonderful and quick way to find out. Personally, I had a blast.
I enjoyed learning with SheCodes and how each lesson allowed me to immediately apply what I learned. While the lessons were easy to follow, there was a lot of information that provided me many tools to ultimately develop and customize my own website.
I enjoyed SheCodes Plus and the process of developing the skills to create a fully-functioning weather app! I learned so much in the last 8 weeks and I am excited to continue to advance my coding knowledge!

I started this basic workshop to see if coding was something I could do (I'm a Chemistry major and have no knowledge of coding or programming, and I was looking for something to fill my time that was not related to my current job). All I can say is that I am hooked and look forward to the next workshop! After just two weeks I am able to create a simple webpage and I find that pretty impressive and rewarding. I don't know if I will pursue a coding career yet...for now, I am enjoying the workshops :)

When I was in high school (twenty years ago!), I took a couple web development classes and would spend hours after school creating web pages and graphics. I knew I loved creating things for the web, but always did it on the side as more of a hobby since my career was in education. I had been wanting to brush up on my skills for a while, and knew there were a bunch of workshops out there. I picked SheCodes because of the way Matt emphasized that this should be fun...and it was! I've loved seeing how front end development has changed since I first learned and also learning new tools like Visual Studio Code. Thank you for helping me re-learn how to build fun things!
This was a great introduction to coding! I learned so much in 3 weeks. The classes were very organized and easy to follow. Matt does a great job explaining the process and the reasoning behind everything we learned.

I love puzzles and I genuinely love learning so when I found out about SheCodes, I had to sign up! I material is not easy but Matt does a great job of breaking it into smaller parts & challenges so that you can really take it one step at a time. I am enjoying this process so much! SheCodes made a career in technology become so much more accessible. Before, I was so intimidated to go into a field I didn't have a degree in. Now, I feel like a tech job is in my future! Matt is a great instructor and the program is set up to make sure you succeed.

This was an enjoyable experience! I didn't realize how much I had learned or how much I would understand at the end. This made starting the project a daunting task to me. Once I started my project, I realized I recognized a lot more code as I was putting together different elements and working through trail and error. It was fun to see that I was able to create so much and it's only been a few weeks!
Easy to follow classes, especially for someone not as tech-savvy as myself. :) The classes, challenges, and homework submissions are so streamlined. The slack community that they have created is pretty amazing as well!

Coding has always seemed very daunting to me, but the SheCodes basics course was the perfect introduction to coding. While there is a lot of information to take in, it's explained in a way that doesn't feel overwhelming. Having challenges based on the information you learn from a lesson is a great way to apply what you've just learned & helps it make sense in the bigger picture of coding.

The 3 week SheCodes course was the perfect introduction to the coding world! I was able to complete the lessons at my own pace and Matt's explanations were easy to understand. Although I have a lot more to learn, I feel like this course was a great foundation of knowledge.

SheCodes was one of the best decisions I've made in advancing my career. I've been looking at many options for learning coding but could never decide where or how to start. I began self learning through books but always felt so stuck and confused and began to give up. I really wanted to work on a career change though, and I soon came across SheCodes. I have learned so much more in just 3 weeks than I could through self learning. Not only was it so easy to follow and learn, I was able to complete everything on top of a full time exhausting job and continue to have free time in my personal life. I am excited to progress onto SheCodes Plus and potentially more in the future.

I enjoyed this course tremendously! There are many free courses out there to learn the same material, but I felt it was worth it to pay to get my questions answered quickly and join a program with a well-thought out structure that holds you accountable. I think most people don't retain much from watching videos or doing short coding exercises - you learn from doing a complete project that means something to you, with a deadline! SheCodes delivers on this.

This beginner course was an amazing experience! I loved every second of it. I enjoyed learning new tips and tricks as well as finding out new solutions on my own. I had experience in learning python years ago and was taught how to teach the computer to play a guessing game with you, but it took a lot of time. When it comes to learning, I like it when the lessons are straight to the point and actually have you apply those new skills immediately. SheCodes definitely applies that attribute. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!
