I became interested in coding because of ... TikTok! While exploring new income opportunities, I became interested in coding and figured that I would give SheCodes a try. After these 3 weeks of the "Introduction to Coding" workshop, I am excited to see where this journey will take me!
Such a great workshop! I went from knowing absolutely nothing about programming to being able to create my first webpage! Matt is such a fantastic teacher, easy to follow along with and the SheCodes community is so amazing. I am looking forward to our next workshop to learn even more!!

The SheCodes Basics workshop was excellent. The video tutorials were clear and provided step-by-step guidance for the topics in html, css, and javascript. I learned a lot but it was not overwhelming. Once I completed the final project, I realized JUST how much I have learned over the course of this workshop. I'm super proud of myself. I particularly like that you never feel alone or without community because the Slack workspace has a ton of students going through the same challenges as you and you get answers to your questions from the SheCodes team in usually less than 24 hours. Fantastic experience that I would recommend to anyone who interested in getting started with the basics.
SheCodes has got to be one of the best formatted basic coding courses I have ever had the privilege of participating in. There was just enough learning time to really absorb each lesson and with submitted code expectation, I felt a real accomplishment had been made. I also loved the tips and tricks that Matt would include in the lesson, which made my experience a lot more simplified.

I have loved the SheCodes Basics workshop. I learned a lot in a short amount of time. I really enjoyed being able to put the lessons together and figure some things out on my own.
I've been interested in learning how to code for some time and found free courses online but the issue with those is that it's very hard to be motivated. This workshop is different as all the videos are not only very informative but very easy to follow. Each video has a challenge which makes you put your skills to practice and I've enjoyed every single one of them. Also, Matt's a great instructor and I highly recommend this workshop.
I always wanted to find something I liked and could work with. With SheCodes I had the opportunity to find a course that was a completely new area for me and that went far beyond my expectations. I really enjoyed dusting off some old knowledge as well as learning new things. I'm excited to take the next workshop and continue learning a new skill.
I've had such a great time taking this course and will continue to complete more workshops. What makes SheCodes special is that they take the time to explain why things function, and what the intentions are behind the code. I've attempted to take other courses that often lacked the understanding of how to explain the steps of why things are done. Instead, those courses often presented sterile explanations of what is being done on a screen. Matt is an excellent instructor, and his method of teaching actually helps you learn, not just memorize.
Before SheCodes, coding was intimating and daunting but this workshop introduced me to the fundamentals and contributed confidence in my ability to learn and utilize code!

The Beginners Workshop was a great course! The pace wasn't too fast or too slow. I learned quite a bit because Matt was a great instructor! I highly recommend this course for anyone starting out or maybe even a refresher if it's been a while.
I majored in English and creative writing in college, going off the notion that I'm a predominantly right-brained individual. Never did I expect a well-placed ad for a free introductory coding course to help awaken my dormant left brain! SheCodes made the seemingly esoteric completely accessible to me. It re-ignited my passion for world-building and opened my eyes to a beautiful new way to understand and approach our digital universe. Not only did Matthue and the SheCodes team gird me with the foundation for an invaluable set of skills, but they also empowered me to keep at my learning, to lean on a community of like-minded go-getters, and to persevere through the tougher moments of frustration. I've not felt this excited to explore and expand my mind in so long, and I can't thank (or recommend) SheCodes enough!
As I continue each program with SheCodes, I surprise myself with the amount I have learned and what I can do on my own. What used to look like hieroglyphics to me is now something I can easily read and understand. I am really proud of this weather app and I can't wait to continue my studies!

This coding class was so easy to follow and engaging. I have tried taking other online coding classes, but it was too difficult for me to follow and understand. That makes SheCodes different; Matt makes the lecture and challenges super fun. One thing I loved about this course was that I was free to have another solution from what Matt had as long I understood the basics of the coding method we used and my code made sense.
I have learned so much in a short amount of time, I would recommend to anyone who wants to try out and see if coding is something they would enjoy.
Loved learning with videos- it means I could go at my own pace and re-watch when necessary!

I must say... in the last 3 weeks I have learned so much from Matt Delac! I did not know where to even begin with coding. Matt was able to explain everything in detail that I was able to follow along and learn. Now, I have the confidence to continue learning and improving my skill to become a front-end developer! My final project is more than what was asked but that is how well Matt taught me I felt I could go the extra mile and really test my skills. I can't wait for the next chapter thank you, Matt! This workshop was great! I already had experience with HTML and CSS but hadn't learned much Javascript and I was able to easily learn it in just 1 week! Matt has a very clear teaching style yet keeps things short and simple and to the point which I love and the SheCodes community and extra resources make it very easy to get quick answers and a strong understanding of the course materials. 10/10!

I found SheCodes Basics workshop to be very easy to follow along with and simple to learn. I like to challenge myself and learn new things. Programming has always felt intimidating, but SheCodes has given me the confidence to hone my skills and gain confidence!
It is true -- these lessons are broken down into easily digestible bite-sized pieces. There is a lot of information available if you are willing to absorb it all and not miss any bits. I had so much fun in my basics course, and I love that we can use our own creativity throughout the entire process.
The Basics Course is very nice beginner friendly. It was challenging and rewarding. I like how it encourages you to experiment and change your solutions.
I have been interested in tech and coding for quite some time. However, I always thought you had to be a math whiz to be successful. Matthieu was very quick to debunk that myth in his free coding session. Suddenly, I didn't have any reason not to give it a try. I have enjoyed learning HTML, CSS, and JS so much! I'm really glad I made the decision to give it a try. I'll be continuing on with the SheCodes courses and will be a React Developer soon enough.
I like this workshop
Iβve always tinkered around with coding through blogging and watching courses on YouTube. However, I had some free time in the summer and decided to sit down and do an actual course. I loved that this course was indeed intended for beginners. Doing the challenges not only helped me to understand the concept of what I was doing and more importantly, why I was doing it. My favorite part was learning about CSS and styling.
This was an excellent experience, when they said SheCodes basics they were serious. This was challenging at times but more than all funny and I have the opportunity to practice with all the challenges and homework.

The course has been fun and informative. I've known that I love coding since taking Web Design classes in high school, and through using MySpace so long ago. I'm glad I finally took the first steps in creating a career for myself. As a working mom, the hours were completely doable, and I don't regret signing up for this course. I never thought I would love to learn how to code so much! I went to college for healthcare and slowly realized I'm burnt out and immediately knew I had to change something or do something that can be so fun and rewarding. I was looking online trying to see what kind of remote work I could do and as I was searching on YouTube I came upon an ad about SheCodes and what really drew me in was that it was all women! I did the info session with Matt and I fell so in love with the idea that this is actually a thing! Don't get me wrong, I knew it was a thing but to know theres a community of women on the same boat as me wanting to try something knew really excited me! I was nervous and at times, I did get frustrated a few times because I just felt like I wasn't getting it quick enough like everyone else. But Matt's videos are so well explained and the resources and information he gives are so reassuring and easy to follow that I'm so excited to learn more!
SheCodes Basic course gives you a good overview of HTML, CSS, and Java - just enough so to grab your interest to pursue it in more advanced courses (or I guess also to let you know it's not really your thing...which is equally important). I liked the pace and was able to balance this with other demands throughout the week. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants a quick intro!

Through this first workshop, I gained some solid experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and was able to build a beautiful website about ballet! π©° Most importantly, I learned how to be self-sufficient and use a variety of resources to accomplish coding challenges. Having access to a strong mentor and a team of support is so helpful when learning, just as it will be throughout a fulfilling career in tech. :)
I was first taught coding by my mother who had a Masters Degree in Computer Science over 30 years ago. That was when coding was young and all we could learn was DOS because none of these newer coding languages existed. This was my first time formally learning HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I can hardly believe that I was able to create real web pages so quickly. I have recently begun building No Code Apps and I am excited to enhance my projects by incorporating what I have learned through the SheCodes Basics Workshop. I could not be more excited about the opportunities that I foresee because I have begun to develop this new skillset. I am grateful.ππΎ
SheCodes has been phenomenal in helping me understand the basics of code. SheCodes Basics was an excellent intro into HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I went from 0 coding knowledge to being able to build a webpage in 3 weeks! The videos are the perfect length to not lose focus!
I love SheCodes! I can't lie, I was a little skeptical, there are a MILLION coding bootcamps... however- I went from zero knowledge to building an interactive webpage, being able to inspect other pages proficiently, and the intimidation this field used to give me has been replaced by an eagerness to learn more!
I would recommend this course for people who wants to learn at their own pace. There is a lot of people to help in case you are confuse with assignment.

I never thought I would be able to learn the amount of information provided in such a short amount of time! The design of taking things step by step while still leaving room for challenges was such a great way to progress and comprehend through this course.
This work shop was definitely challenging but at the same time very rewarding. I got stuck a lot especially in JavaScript, but watching the instruction videos helped immensely when I couldn't debug my code by myself. Seeing my weather app work in real time as I integrated the API and seeing the final results of my hard was very satisfying.
Not an easy program but it actually feels like you're learning.
Matt is an amazing instructor. I was thoroughly impressed with how I had no issue with comprehending his teaching and also being able to enjoy his lessons at the same time. The lessons are short and straight to the point and very easy to grasp. The challenges were fun to do and provided necessary knowledge for me to apply on many of the assignments.
I had a blast learning! I didn't believe it was going to be this easy to learn and I've learned so much, I cannot wait to continue on my journey with SheCodes.
Let me start with a little background. I graduated high school in 2011, took 1 recordkeeping and 1 accounting class, and have not touched a computer other than to surf the web since. I currently am self-employed, and run a home cleaning business. Before I started cleaning, I was a stay at home mom for 5 years. I have known that this was not the path I wanted for my life, but I was worried to try something new. A good friend of mine recommended SheCodes to me because I showed some interest in technology. I was nervous because I came into this not knowing ANYTHING about coding. Once I started on my lessons, I really got the hang of it fairly quickly, and it turns out I thoroughly enjoy it! I am so happy to have found SheCodes and everything I have learned so far.

It was a bit challenging at first but i knew i have to learn to code, took some time off and here i am today.
I started SheCodes on a whim not really knowing much about coding or what it entailed and after completing the course, I can say with 100% certainty that coding is fun. This was so much fun and challenging. I highly recommend SheCodes for anyone starting out with little to no knowledge about coding. Lessons are well-planned, instructions are clear and help is always available. This will definitely challenge you to use your resources to find your own solution to a certain problem and forces you to search and google by leaving some elements unexplained on purpose. Don't be afraid to think outside the box to give yourself more of a challenge.
I wanted to learn something new that wasn't in the medical field and this popped up. I used to be tech savvy, but ever since I entered the medical field I stopped updating myself on technology and I wanted to get back to that and taking this course has taught me some new things. Thank you SheCodes.

SheCodes Plus has been fun and challenging. Designing an app from start to finish was interesting to learn since I had no idea what all went into the design/ execution of an app. I hope to be able to continue to work on my app and take it to the next level.
I never thought I could learn how to code. I had always assumed that it was "too difficult" for me. This workshop was not only fun, but super informative! I love that it is self paced, but it still gives you flexible deadlines which really motivated me to complete things in a timely manner. I like that you can complete your assignments/challenges and watch the videos when ever you like, as long as your homework is turned in on time. Overall, I felt that this was a great workshop for beginners (like myself) and I really feel like I have learned so much! I am so excited to continue learning through SheCodes! I would 100% recommend this workshop to anyone who is interested in coding.
