I remember doing a coding class in college, but the instructor was not patient with beginners and I honestly didn't take anything away from the class. However, SheCodes made learning very easy to remember. I loved the layout of this bootcamp; going through lessons, then challenges, lastly the solution. It made me rely on my problem solving skills a lot more. I only used Slack one time; everything else I found via Google. It really is a coders best friend!

As a non-technical person, I sometimes work with the tech team, but I am not familiar with the specifics of what they do. It's been a great experience learning the basics of coding. I do feel like I learned a new skill. The playlist that Matt makes are a bonus!
Very Informative and reliable when it comes to providing resources however there was some information that was left out during the lessons that I had to look up myself such as how to display your work in your browser. "Open with Live Sever" in Visual Studio Code. Also left out for the final project how to get the background to display the palettes.

This was a great beginning to CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. The homework projects were fun and manageable, and I never felt overwhelmed.
I really loved how this class is presented and structured. The challenges after each section really helped me retain and understand everything really well and it was really nice to have Slack available for any questions. I enjoyed this class so much that it actually solidified my plans for a career change into software development! I am a nurse who has always been interested in improving health outcomes through technology. My husband is a software engineer and I always assumed coding was over my head. SheCodes taught me this is absolutely NOT the case. I had a great time in this program and look forward to using what I learned in the real world!
I was so nervous to round the corners towards project submission time - instead of the manner of pacing and learning becoming intensive or convoluted, I was awash with relief to have maintained the relaxing step-by-step lesson structure and support. I feel more confident now than ever previous :) .

Matt is an excellent teacher and is particular about helping us understand the basics & syntax. Loved the SheCodes basic and can't wait to start on Plus.
Matt's tutorials are not only thorough, but they're well-organized so that they build off of each other. Week 1 was all excitement as I realized that the HTML I learned 20 years ago in high school had still been bouncing around in my skull somehow. Adding CSS on top of it was a piece of cake, and the course lays everything out for you one step at a time. Week 2 was all JavaScript, which was brand new to me. There were times I got tangled in my own code during a challenge, but I was never frustrated because it was so simple to go through that week's threads and see if anyone else had similar problems in the past. If so, there were always helpful students and teachers ready to give solutions and help work out the issue. I came here from trying to trudge through Coursera's Google IT certification courses, but I was really struggling and kind of worried that maybe I wasn't quite 'smart enough' for a new career tech or something. However, based on how easily I adapted and absorbed the SheCodes training, I think it's just the different approach Matt brings, which is more visual learning (since he has his code in the video right in front of you so that you can pause it and follow along in your own session of VSCode,) in addition to the small challenges at the end of each lesson, which helps you practice and cement the coding you just learned. Aside from the videos, there are all kinds of learning/coder aids, such as cheat-sheets, color palettes, and CSS generators. Fantastic program. I'm so glad I took a chance from the beginning and signed up for SheCodes Pro. I'm ready to rock the rest of this program and have an exciting, fulfilling career. FINALLY! Thank you, Matt!

This was such a wonderful introduction to coding! I completed the basics course and feel like it just scratched the surface, but I also learned a LOT. Matt is a fantastic teacher and makes what seems super complicated, super understandable. Highly recommend this course to anyone who might be intimidated by learning a coding language.
I've been looking for a coding program that would work for me. I looked for over a year and all the other programs were sketchy with their advertisement and gave no insight on their curriculum. But when I first seen SheCodes, I thought it was too good to be true. And now after finishing the Basic Course in just 1 week, I am so excited that I found a program that works! I have a RHIA and a MSHI and worked as a medical record coder for 7 years, I was hoping my Master's in Health Informatic would give me that technical flare, but it didn't, which left me short of the mark for potential employers. SheCodes has a well-built curriculum! and if you've read any other testimony, Matt is an excellent teacher! His style of teaching is what got me through this course so fast. He literally led the way all the way down to the finish line, and by the time you arrive, you'll know exactly what to do! Go tell a friend!

I loved the Basics course! I had absolutely zero knowledge when I first signed up for the course, but I am feeling really excited to continue my coding education! I'm planning to sign up for SheCodes Pro! The course structure is easily digestible and the challenges after every lesson make it so easy to learn as you go!
I had zero experience with coding and it is all so much clearer to me now! There are some tough concepts to learn, but Matt does a great job explaining them. I also love that I can watch the videos as many times as I need. I am a teacher and will teach coding to my students this year now that I feel more comfortable helping my students if and when they get stuck with our own programs.

I work a full-time job so I'll admit I wasn't too sure about how much information I would be able to absorb with this workshop, but, I was able to get through some of the lessons daily and complete each week challenge with ease. I was genuinely surprised at how quick I picked up the basics! It felt really rewarding to clear each week and I am really excited to see what I learn next. Seeing the actual creativity behind coding also really opened my eyes to what it is, I had fun making cute pages.
Easy to follow course content.
As a person who has come to the United States to live here with absolutely no knowledge of the language, I would highly recommend this course to other people. Not only does it help move along my studies as a student learning the English language, but also as a student learning how to code. I am completely invested in the manner of how the lessons are taught, the rigorousness of the classes can be tough but SheCodes has been so understanding and kind to our situation. I have learned various techniques in SheCodes, and was even able to create my own business card website. The closest I've come to coding was editing html back on myspace.. needless to say I barley understood what I was doing. Fast forward years later and today and I just completed the SheCodes Basics 3 week program and I am in awe of myself on what I was able to create in this short period of time. Matt created this program in short digest-able lessons that make it so anyone can learn and enjoy learning it! If you think you can't do it... I promise, YOU CAN! I am excited to move on to the next workshop.
This was the most fun I have ever had learning something new! Yes, at times it was a lot of thinking and hard work but so fun and it just makes you want to keep on learning. I learned so much!
I just loved the flow of the course. It was organized in a way that made sense. However, I do have one criticism. In our homework and final project assignments, we were asked to do things that were not covered in the lectures at all. I appreciate being able to look things up on our own to make something work, but I wish that expectation had been set at the beginning of the course so it wasn't such a surprise.

I would definitely recommend this workshop! I didn't realize just how important it was to build websites responsively so that mobile users could easily access your site as well. It's such an important factor to a site and I'm excited to use the knowledge I've gained and build more responsive sites in the future.
These past 3 weeks were truly incredible. I did not know anything about coding and I was able to learn so much step by step. The videos explained things very nicely and I never felt confused or uncertain. Practice and all is coming :)
SheCodes makes it easier to understand and practice code. I previously learned html/html5 and other coding languages through an app. While it was easy to understand, I never had the opportunity or even the right tools to practice and learn coding. No matter what style of learning you comprehend best; Matt teaches excellently to comprehend each point. Definitely worth the investment!
The SheCodes Basics Workshop has made coding a fun and easy skill to learn! I appreciate all of the lessons (and videos) that were created for this workshop. All of the steps were very clear throughout the lessons in each week.
I always thought coding would never be something I would be able to do, until I found SheCodes! I learn through seeing and doing, so having videos of Matt explaining what he's doing step by step was a huge help! I can now add my projects to my UI/UX portfolio, and apply my new understanding of coding to my work with developers.

I honestly was not sure I would be able to learn coding. Ive watched videos on youtube just to be left feeling confused and defeated. This week after just 2 weeks of learning, I created my own webpage and I am so proud of myself.
Very happy that I decided to sign up for this workshop. I love how helpful and convivial the SheCodes community is and very glad to be a part of it. It's amazingly fulfilling to learn and acquire new skills, especially when I've always been a self-professed "non-computer" person. I loved this course. Well worth it. It took me a little longer to finish since I have a job and other obligations, but it was so worth it. I've always been more of an outdoorsy nerd than a computer geek, but SheCodes might just convert me! I started the workshop with zero coding knowledge whatsoever and found it very easy to follow along with the lessons. I enjoyed the challenges and projects and loved that Matt pushed us to do some creative problem solving in each of the assignments. Looking forward to moving on from Basic to Plus!
