I always wanted to learn coding, but never felt like I could because it looked so intimidating. I was on Instagram one day and saw an Ad for the SheCodes free Coding Class. Matt introduced coding in a way that made it look fun and cool, so I enrolled in the SheCodes Basics workshop and I cannot even believe how much I learned in just 3 weeks! I am able to help out more with basic coding at work and my supervisor is thrilled and I can't wait to grow in this skill!

This class has opened my eyes to the coding world and I have enjoyed every bit of it. I would highly recommend to anyone who is interesting in coding.

I had a great time during this workshop. In the beginning, I was doing it just to learn something new, but it turned out to be much more fun than I expected. I would definitely recommend it.

The Basics course was a great place to start out if you are new to coding. It is a little overwhelming at first but I found the community on Slack to be a great resource for help and encouragement.

I would like to thank you for a wonderful experience. SheCodes Basic gave me confidence to continue my coding journey and taught me new things. In light of what was presented, I will remain focused and grounded for the challenges to come.

I had virtually no coding experience when starting this course, but found the instruction easy to understand and the challenges helpful in gaining more experience. I will definitely be taking more of classes from SheCodes.

This was an amazing workshop and such a thrill to be a part of! It is easy to follow along and Matt did an amazing job at explaining everything, whether you have coded before or not you step away with a ton of useful knowledge and resources. I was shocked, with this beginner course of SheCodes Basics. It took away negative thoughts and feelings, I had when it came to learning basic HTML, JavaScript and CSS. I am a believer that I can code because I had faith within myself especially with having a invisible learning disability. This course gave me an insight and its putting me on a path of accomplishing my dream career.

This is a great workshop. I was engaged the whole time, and it was incredibly interactive. I have learned more in two weeks than I have in months of trying to learn coding with other resources. Coding is enjoyable now, and I cannot wait to expand my knowledge using SheCodes.

The workshop was great, but I wish we got to learn more. The third week wasn't anything new - just a quick summary of what we learned in weeks one and two. I feel like that time could have been used better. Otherwise, the workshop was fun and Matt is a good teacher.

Wow! SheCodes Basics was a fantastic workshop. I would recommend this workshop to anyone who wants to start coding. I had no previous experience in coding when I started. SheCodes makes everything clear and easy to follow. Although I took a little longer to complete the workshop, I love how flexible it is. You can always go at your own pace. This course was amazing! I had been doing some study on my own but this course really helped me a lot. I love how it with through everything step by step and you immediately test what you learned. I love the homework and the project at the end. I would recommend anyone that wants to learn to code take this course.

Great beginner's course!

I enjoyed this workshop immensely! The lessons are very clear and purposeful, and the platform is overall very engaging and informative. So much value in this experience!

I thought the course was very compact and gave you enough info to decide if this is something you want to keep pursuing. The first week was definitely the hardest but I felt proud of myself each time I figured something out that I was struggling with. I am looking forward to moving onto the Pro course next.

This was by far one of the most challenging tasks I've taken on in quite some time. I have learned so much in the past few weeks about HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Matt is a wonderful instructor and the skilled team that works around the clock at SheCodes has also been amazing. First, SheCodes pulled me in with a free introductory class, the breadth of leaders who fill this community kept me engaged, and the user-friendly interface kept me going to complete my first coding workshop!! I am beginning my 2-year graduate program in foreign policy and was seeking a pathway toward a creative and flexible side hustle. This was definitely it! I am so glad I found SheCodes; on to bigger and better things with all that I've learned!

Thanks to how easy SheCodes made it to learn code, I am now obsessed! I can't wait for what the future has in store with such a high-in demand skill.

So during a short break from my graduate program this summer (I'm in a clinical mental health counseling program) I decided to take this workshop because it's been something that's always intrigued me. I am so glad I did! And seriously considering changing careers after I graduate. That being said, I will be moving forward with the second and third level workshops as well. I am thrilled I took this opportunity with SheCodes and I'm very excited to continue my journey with them for a while longer! 😄

I would highly recommend SheCodes to learn anything about coding. Whether you need it for your career or just a new hobby, the entire system is laid out really well and I really appreciated that we had to practice everything that we learned. I see a career in coding sometime in the future and am really thankful to have had this opportunity to learn through Matt's teaching.

Loved this workshop! I'm a busy Product Manager and mom of two, and I was able to complete this course. It brought a whole new dimension to my understanding at work. The best part is my four year old wants to "code like mom" now! ❤️

Although challenging at times, this was an amazing way to dive into learning how to code. Matt and his team and as well as all the SheCodes students on Slack were just so helpful every step of the way! I would feel overwhelmed at times but I always ended up understanding how to do it every time. I am so proud of myself for building this weather app from scratch and can't wait to tackle other things! Thank you Matt and SheCodes team for providing me a fun and amazing opportunity!

I had a lot of fun and I was surprised how easy I was able to learn, I think Matt might be part of it, the is straight forward and easy to understand. I like how SheCodes also has a lot of tools to help you find the right color palettes, gradients, etc, it is very helpful, specially if you are not someone super creative like I am. The lesson was great and teacher taught everything clear. The only problem that I had it was that checking the homeworks included too much time; 48hours for each homework!.

Two projects completed! I am so grateful for the opportunity to learn new skills and brush up on skills from the previous workshop. This is a whole lot more visual than any other college class or youtube course that I have seen. Really love that I can watch Matt type and I can type along too. Slack allows for questions outside of googling. Its easier to digest and fun to look at, watch, listen, etc... EXTREMELY GRATEFUL.

It was really straightforward and easy to follow. I definitely recommend this course especially if you are learning with no prior experience!

Learning to code has been really fun so far, of course there have been moments of frustration but when you figure out where you went wrong the end result is very rewarding. Thank you Shecodes team for helping me learn a new skill that will set me on great path to success!💛

I had some experience with HTML and CSS before this course, but Matt really helped me fill in some of the major gaps in my knowledge. I had no experience with JavaScript and was pretty scared of it, but I can't believe how much fun I had using nested if else statements in my final project!

SheCodes is ah-mazing! Matt is an excellent teacher and does such a great job breaking down seemingly difficult technical concepts. The Slack channels are invaluable for working with other students and the rest of the SheCodes team for feedback on your work. This isn't my first workshop and certainly won't be my last.

I like this workshop. It is very good for learning fundamental basics of building a website. I can't wait to start next workshop SheCodes Plus. I want to start it immediately. I recommend everyone this workshop.

SheCodes Basic was an exciting workshop to do. Everything was pretty east to understand as Matt was very thorough about explaining what needed to be done. I would definitely recommend this program to my friends. Can't wait to do the next workshop!

Matt's tutorials are super clear and straightforward. I haven't had too much trouble following and I really enjoy the process of figuring things out and making things work. I have learned a great deal through my SheCodes Plus workshop, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who's interested in coding!

I believe this was overall a great introductory course. I would have liked for the videos to have spent more time explaining some of the more advanced concepts in JavaScript that were not as intuitive as html or css to logically understand, but that's alright. The cheat sheets were helpful to get through the course timely without needing to spend hours trying to make sense of it as a beginner.

Signing up for SheCodes was the best decision I've made in a long time! I felt so stuck, stagnant, and ultimately unhappy with my different career paths thus far. Coding is the first time I have ever been excited for a career, and I've only been a part of SheCodes for 2 weeks!

I've tried other coding workshops and classes, and SheCodes has been the only one where I've felt like I've learned the concepts and have been able to apply them in real time. I'm so proud of the progress I've made in such a short amount of time!

This was such a great course! It was easy to understand but challenging enough that I was able to learn through trial and error with the challenges and homeworks.

My experience with coding was limited to messing with MySpace almost 20 years ago but after going to the free coding class I felt confident that I would achieve more through SheCodes. The pace of the lessons is perfect for me and I love how more resources are linked if we wanted to dig even deeper. I'm excited to keep learning with Matt and the SheCodes team!

I had a lot of fun working through the different practice problems and seeing everything come together in the homework assignments at the end of each week. Every lesson builds upon the last in a neat, stepwise progression that makes learning feel like a bit of a challenge but not difficult. I appreciate how the answers aren't provided but that students are given the information they need to "Google it" and come to workable solutions on their own. Bonus? My daughters think I'm cool now :) That said: I encountered an issue when submitting my first week's homework assignment that has left me troubled. I replicated the provided example but, after review, I was notified that my homework was incomplete; when I checked to see what the problem could be, the link I had previously followed to the example opened a differently-formatted page. I went to Slack to ask if I would be required to reformat my homework despite my submission being a faithful representation of the original example and was answered with a request to post my question in another channel of slack because it was a "technical" problem; because the turnaround time for answers was slow (an as-advertised ~48hr) and I didn't want to wait (and I want to learn), I went ahead and reformatted the assignment. Still, I have two problems with this: 1. Assignments that require students to copy (nearly exactly) an example document should not be graded in comparison to example documents that did not exist at the time the assignment was completed. 2. A support team should provide support, not direct questions to different channels and then definitions of what "technical" means, even if it does mean something different (and so vague as to be meaningless) to them. I asked a question of the support team that pertained to a philosophical question, not a technical question: Considering that I submitted an assignment based upon an incompletely formatted example (that was available to me), would I be required (by the SheCodes team) to continue formatting my assignment to match an example that did not exist (to my eyes) until after I had submitted my assignment? When I indicated that my question was not technical in nature (I had no difficulties creating a document, coding a document to match the example available to me, or submitting a document), I was told that, essentially, all questions are technical questions and if I want an answer I should submit my questions to the proper channel. This is not a free course and it is alarming to me to be paying for support and receiving resistance, instead. Just an FYI. I am learning a lot, but I am someone who enjoys the Googling and searching and fiddling. If I were taking this course with the idea of getting (and receiving) much support from the support team, I'm not sure how that would be going.

SheCodes is a great resources for jumping into coding!

I would highly recommend this program to any woman who wants to explore the tech field! It is a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-star program. The people who help answer the questions, and help you get up and running are AMAZING!! The only experience I have is answering emails and browsing YouTube. I was extremely impressed with Matt the instructor. His teaching skills are in another dimension. ✔I have learned so much. There is a volume of support because of the way that this program is designed and run. I would recommend this program for its simplicity and quality.

I have enjoyed the workshops so far. The Responsive Workshop was challenging but very informative. I enjoyed the challenge and learned so much. Would recommend this workshop to all my female friends who are interested in learning to code.

I'm eternally grateful to the SheCodes team for the opportunity to learn at my own pace! Having the tools & time available to learn new skills for my future career helps to find my place in tech much more manageable.

I had so much fun learning the basics of coding with the SheCodes basics workshop. I have no previous experience in coding at all. This course made it so easy to follow and understand. I love that the lesson videos are broken into shorter digestible snippets and have challenges to check your understanding. I took this course to test the waters and see if it is the direction I would like to go career-wise. So far I am loving it! I can say that I will definitely be taking the next workshop to further expand my knowdelge of coding.

In January of this year I graduated Springboard with a certification in UI/UX Design and landed my first job as a User Experience Designer. I was exposed to the basics of HTML and CSS at Springboard but didn't have a deep understanding of them. Working with developers on several projects revealed this skill gap for me so I began looking for a course that would make learning code fun and found SheCodes! I have learned so much in these 3 weeks and I am so excited to use the skills I have gained to make me a better designer and teammate. Thank you!

The instructor really knows how to teach from basics so that a novice coder can understand, as opposed to other learning platforms which may seem a bit intimidating. I joined SheCodes Basics with no prior knowledge of coding, and after just 3 weeks I was able to create a dynamic webpage using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I am most inspired by: Ada Lovelace, the world’s first programmer. Being able to see the original letters written by Ada at the British Library and she was moved by her intellect and trailblazing courage.

I absolutely LOVE SheCodes! I almost went to a different bootcamp/workshop and am so glad I chose Matt and SheCodes instead. He showcases the material in a really easy to learn and digestible way and I get so much satisfaction from completing challenges, homework assignments and projects. The deadlines are helpful at keeping me on track and motivated to complete the modules, and the Slack community is super helpful whenever I get stuck on something. Have always been interested in web development and coding in general. This has absolutely made me enjoy learning the beginning basics of it. Matt does a great job of walking you through and explaining the "whys" and "whats" but gives you the wiggle room to think for yourself too. Excited to continue learning here.

I always thought that coding was something that I would never get into because it's supposedly really hard. SheCodes actually makes it fairly doable to learn and the prices for the courses are not to bad. I do recommend this to anyone trying to learn as well even if it's just the basics course. You learn a lot in just 3 weeks if you put your mind to it.

I think SheCodes Basics is a great investment. It introduced me to the world of coding and taught me the basic fundamentals, all in 3 weeks! When I was learning by myself, through apps, it only taught me coding language, such as html elements for links, images, headings. However, it never taught me how to apply this language and create a functioning webpage. SheCodes filled in this gap and taught me through coding software that developers are actually using. I look forward to continuing my coding journey and thank SheCodes for giving me a great starting foundation!
