This course was challenging but very rewarding in how it introduced powerful coding concepts and how APIs can be leveraged in really interesting ways.
A great, accessible introduction to HTML and CSS. I appreciate that lectures are easy to follow and the projects are fun and engaging.
SheCodes Basics helped me to learn something I never thought I would be able to. The way Matt teaches is great for visual and hands on learners like myself. I would highly recommend this course to women interested in seeing what coding is all about and seeing if they like it before they dive into something bigger. On to the next!

I went from not knowing the first thing about coding, to being able to build multiple functioning projects and have fun in the process. Best workshops ever- tough project because JS was difficult to harness
I enjoyed getting walked through how to make this app, but I don't feel I have internalized most of what I did. I don't think I could do most of it again, without following the videos over again, and then I don't know if I could apply it to something different. It was an interesting introduction, but it feels like a lot to have paid for the level of actual understanding I have at the end. I was hoping to have time and brain space to get creative with this, but I spent all the time I had dealing with the basics.
I learned so much from this just the basic class, I am looking forward to the other workshops now!!
I'd always wanted to learn to code, and this is the first time I've had a stress-free coding experience. I admire Matt's vision of closing the gender gap in technology. SheCodes workshops simplify the learning process by incorporating challenges and creative activities. If you are new to coding I would recommend SheCode coding workshop!
I have taken other courses to learn Javascript but always had a lot of trouble understanding how it functions. Not only did this course make me feel much more confident writing my own code, I actually understand what each piece does. I highly recommend!

I've always wanted to have some coding skills, and when I came across SheCodes on my Instagram, I knew that I had to give it a try. I work full-time and was a bit nervous on how I would balance these lessons with my normal routine. Each lesson was short while being very informative, and I was able to start/stop whenever I had free time during the week. This class was really fun and I will be taking the other workshops.
Honestly, I am shocked at what I can now do and understand in such a short amount of time! Its been great!
I was a little nervous at first but the lessons were easy to understand for the most part. There were some moments that I found challenging(mostly JavaScript) but that is exactly what makes coding so interesting to me. I cannot wait to finish all the way through the Pro Max workshop!

I work with IT and do some back end but had no experience with front end. I saw that this course is focused on women and fell in love with it even before starting it. I love that every lesson we are challenged to code and practice what we have learned and at the end of the course we really are capable of completing a project on our own!

This course was definitely worth trying. I feel like I learned a good basic level of code knowledge. If you're thinking about learning to code I feel like this is a good beginners option to start with and see if it is for you or not. Overall I would recommend because it is pretty interesting information.
SheCodes Plus has challenged me immensely throughout these 8 weeks, but has shown me that I am capable of creating things I never thought I'd be able to do.

A good intro to coding
I'm a 22-year-old new mom who is looking to start my career and began with SheCodes. I'm not sure where I'd like to be in the tech world, but this course was very fun to do. I felt like I was gently being walked through the course and also was allowed to be challenged a bit. This is just the beginning! 10/10 recommend this course.
Fantastic workshop! Easy to understand information for beginners with no previous experience (I am a previous speech therapist). Lots of content broken down into short, easy-to-understand videos. Plenty of support from the community so I never felt lost.

I learned such an amazing amount about how to built a beautiful website in such a short amount of time. Not only did I learn how to do specific things, but I also learned how to look things up on my own. This will allow me to do even more than I learned in this class in the future, and continue to build upon the knowledge I gained in this course. This will help me in so many different aspects of communicating with designers, engineers, etc. in the future.
I was looking for a career change and had been thinking about coding for a while but did not know where to start. When I found SheCodes, I knew it would be a great way to get into the field! Matt made it so easy to follow along and now I am more confident as a beginner! It was the best decision I made and I can't wait to take the advance courses!
I always wanted to learn how to code. I have spent a lot of time in the customer service/food service realm and always saw advertisements for coding workshops. Three weeks ago, I took the leap and I don't regret it. I definitely have a mind that likes to figure things out and so seeing the back end of everything has been super cool. This course was definitely nostalgic, reminding me of my time trying to edit my Myspace profile to something a little more personalized. I definitely want to continue my journey and learn more.
The lessons taught by Matt, were super clear and manageable. Having the slack team available for when we got stuck was so nice, and helped keep up morale and motivation toward learning more and having fun doing it. Outside of that the other SheCodes resources, such as the gradient and palette features, and shecodes radio rocked ! Most importantly, they were really understanding with timing; I needed extensions due to health concerns and power outages, and they made it really easy and stress-free to request more time. 10/10 would recommend.

SheCodes Plus was definitely more challenging than SheCodes Basics. However, the SheCodes community was encouraging and helpful. During this course I had another severe asthma exacerbation, and it was such a relieve that I could continue to work on my project from the comfort of my own home. I was also able to make a friend during this course that was a huge support. I feel truly accomplished with my weather app! and I'm so excited for what is coming next!

I joined SheCodes after not knowing if I wanted to return for my graduate studies in Psychology. I was feeling lost and without direction in life, and was also dealing with chronic pain from a spinal stenosis diagnosis. I spoke to a friend of a friend who is a professional full-stack developer and they told me all about their career. The next day, I looked into coding schools and was happy to stumble upon SheCodes. The lessons have been easy to follow and learning has become exciting again. I am so happy to be here.
