SheCodes Basics was a comforting introduction into the "intimidating" world of coding. I had ZERO prior experience with coding and a lot of programs do not start you off from absolute scratch. This is what made SheCodes a great experience for me because it starts you off from a level of zero experience so you don't miss any foundational knowledge. I decided to upgrade to SheCodes Plus so I can continue to learn more. I highly recommend this program to anyone who is intimidated by coding and has no prior experience!

Great for beginners
It is incredible that in just 3 weeks you can learn so much; the classes are pre-recorded but at the same time so didactic and well focused that you don't feel the difference, besides, along with each lesson and challenge Matt always finds the place to transmit security and confidence, something that is undoubtedly highly valued when putting in practice what has been learned. All this makes this course essential for anyone who wants to start understanding this field better, I can't wait to start the next one.
I really enjoyed learning on this platform. Not only did "She Codes" motivate me to learn, it motivated my son as well. He spent some time watching the videos and doing some coding with me. I wish you had a program for guys!
Great workshop! Concepts are well explained and build on each other in a way that makes sense. I liked that Matt teaches the WHY behind the thought process and not simply just telling what to do!

This is a great workshop, and the best thing is that, this is a workshop and you have to do all the stuff yourself, so it wouldn't be like a online course in which you only have to watch videos. Here with having deadlines and fun challenges, not only I learnt a lot, but also it really helped me building confidence in what I can do and what I know.

This workshop was incredibly valuable. Many websites are viewed on viewports smaller than a desktop so having the skill to build a responsive website will be greatly beneficial.
When I first started this program I was a bit nervous because I thought the course was going to be hard. However, this program does a great job of breaking down concepts and making them more comfortable to learn. This program is very flexible, which I love, considering that life can get hectic at times. You can tell that SheCodes was crafted with consideration and care! I am very satisfied with my experience and will totally recommend anyone who wants to learn to start here.
I was nervous that learning how to code would be frustrating; however, this was not the case. The lessons were well-explained. I found it easy to follow along. Finished SheCodes Basic in only three days.

I am so glad I decided to take this online course. I was surprised by how much the Basics program taught me. I can finally say that I built a website! My website could have been more technical, though I require more knowledge. Learning about coding is interesting to me. Knowing this, I do wish to pursue coding as a career! This program is an insight into front-end development. Thankfully, Matt provides step-by-step videos for each lesson. If you get confused with assignments, there is a group chat (Slack) with students and team members who can aid you. I advise anyone interested in coding to at least try the Basics program to get their feet wet.
At first, coding sounded very intimidating and I knew it was going to be a challenge but this was something I wanted to do for a very long time to make that career change. After going through the SheCodes Basic workshop, it helped me gain confidence that I can do this. Although there were struggles and frustrations along the way, I kept at it and Matt did a great job explaining how to code step by step. I had a lot of fun doing the final project and seeing the results is very satisfying that I was able to create it from scratch. I am looking forward to the other workshops ahead and learning more.
I loved this workshop! I'm a female in the construction field, and was wanting to learn coding in order to build a website for my company. I learned so much in this course, and it was so easy to follow along. I even signed up for the SheCodes plus course because I can't get enough!

My project
I decided to take this course to see if I could get the hang of something that has always interested me. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology and worked as a Paralegal for an immigration law firm for many years before becoming a stay at home mom for a few years. I'm looking to kick start a new career and this is just what I needed to see if I could grasp the concept of coding and actually understand the basics. Thank you SheCodes! I fell in love with it! Looking forward to completing more advanced coding courses.
Overall SheCodes Basics was a good starter course to see if you like coding or not.
Each lesson contains helpful videos and example code for every kind of learner. I felt helped and challenged at the same time. Highly recommend!

Originally started my career in the veterinary field and then switched to the research field and from there developed an interest in the tech field which is why I switched positions a year ago to work more with data by helping to manage research data instead of actually doing the research itself. I've been working as a data analyst/data consultant and recently took an interest to coding and wanted to learn how to possibly make a career in this field. SheCodes has been amazing with helping me get a first look at what it's like working with code on a basic level and has inspired me to continue on my journey to work towards building a career in the tech industry specifically in coding and also to continue to take more workshops and build more projects to expand my knowledge. This was a great introduction to coding and the final project was fun to create. The lessons and assignments along the way build well. It was nice to have the earlier lessons available for a refresh, or to go back and look at code from an assignment to remember how it all came together.

SheCodes was great! I am so happy to learn the basics of HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I never honestly pictured myself learning to code. I thought it was too complex. However, after watching a video about a free coding workshop, I figured I could give it a try. Matt was a great instructor and broke down the content into digestible pieces of information. I am so excited to see where my coding journey will take me. I want to continue on the path to learning and having fun with code!
I'm so glad I took a leap of faith and registered for all SheCodes workshops. After taking my first Java course over 20 years ago and barely passing the class, I never thought I would consider taking any coding class again. With SheCodes, each online workshop video is short and easy to follow and the information is easier to understand. I wish I knew about SheCodes earlier as I would have started much sooner. I'm mature enough now to remain focused on completing all the workshops even when it's difficult. At the end of SheCodes Basics, it placed a spark in me to complete the remaining 3 courses so I can change careers and reenter the Tech field and focus on becoming a Front End, Back End and/or Full Stack Engineer.
I loved SheCodes Plus! I had so much fun with this class! Its bitter sweet, as challenging as it was it's so gratifying to have completed my final project!

I applied with no knowledge on coding at all, but SheCodes made it possible for me to understand concepts so easily! I love how easy the video lessons are to understand. Even if I struggle I can always access the Slack channel and get help from peers. Challenges are also included which help as brain teasers.
Short but very productive program. I like how the classes are designed. Short info sessions are easy to follow, and challenges are great for practice. The project at the end was so fun and good for summarizing what I've learned. I have enjoyed it so far and can't wait to learn more!

When I started this workshop, I was hoping to just learn a new skill. But after doing the challenges, homework and the final project, I can say that I have a new found respect and love for coding. This course was my first experience in learning to code and it was great! I feel like I learned a lot and now have a good foundation to continue learning coding with!
A few months ago, I decided to embark on a mission to learn how to code and hopefully completely change my career path. Why?- because I know how much freedom I could gain from the great lifestyle coding can provide. I always had a huge admiration for technology but was completely clueless on how to use it. I started to research a bit and learn on my own for about 1.5 months. After that I applied for a bootcamp here in NYC but quickly realized that they wanted me to know way more (a timed admission test was given) then I was capable to learn. I was wondering, if the school wants me to know so much before I have even started, then why do I need them at all? Plus, $16.000 (tuition for the bootcamp/12 weeks) is a huge chunk of money if you ask me. That's when I decided to go the self-taught rout. I did so for another week or so and quickly learned that I needed some structure. That's when SheCodes made it's entrance :D After doing some research I understood that the program is for complete beginners like myself and that it was quite interactive. By that I mean, you don't just read about an assignment and then try to solve it, you get to see the process thought by Matt the founder and then you try yourself. It made so much sense to me. I signed up for the full course and just completed the BASIC one of three weeks. So far, it has definitely been great and productive. I love how you can always go back and relearn topics. I also love how all the topics are bite sized so you don't feel overwhelmed. You go at your own pace but still have deadlines which help you stay focused. Looking forward to the next step-SheCodes PLUS. Happy learning :)

I signed up to just brush my HTML/CSS skills since I did some basics HTML/CSS a few years back. It seems a lot of things have changed in coding. I was looking around for jobs and usually got rejections, but I'm building more skills for new opportunities and this is the workshop that help me regain some of my skills.
The videos are very quick and easy to follow. The assignments were challenging but doable.

This program is absolutely perfect for beginners! I've done other courses like this and everything was taught using their own coding editor, this is the first time I've been taught to use the actual coding editor I would use in the workforce. Highly recommend!
I struggled a bit in the beginning. I really had to focus and clear my mind for things to became easier to understand. Each workshop gave me further knowledge on the little bit of coding I had previous experience in. I definitely plan to keep moving forward with the other workshops that are provided.
