All homework instructions are clear, in addition, I like homework because it always has a little secret and you need to use your brain to do it.

I am a girl high school who has a dream to learn as much code as I can. Before SheCodes I never had much experience at all, this was great for teaching me basics and now I know how I can build off of it. I had a ton of fun making my own project at the end of this course and I was able to be creative in my own way. I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to learn coding.

When I first heard of "SheCodes" was on Instagram. I literally ignored it, I didn't know what it was exactly. When I saw it again on my feed, I saved it. Never looked back until December of 2022. I follow people on Instagram that does coding and I was always a fan of coding, I just didn't know exactly "How to code?". Since I like to learn new things, I decided I would give it a go. I did, started with Basic. I don't know but "I fell in love!" It's amazing how coding turns everything beautiful. I'm glad I gave it a go, now I can't wait to go higher and learn way more.
Had a great time learning the basics on how to code. The lessons were easy to follow. I'm excited to keep learning!

I built a vibrant, mobile-friendly landing page for a travel agency that adapts seamlessly to any screen size. Using CSS Flexbox and media queries, I ensured the layout rearranged elegantly—from desktop to tablet to mobile. The page includes interactive elements like a navigation menu, image galleries, and a contact form, all while maintaining fast load times and clean code. This project deepened my understanding of responsive design principles and the importance of user experience across devices. SheCodes found me at a time when I needed a push in a new direction. Three weeks with SheCodes Basics and I feel like a hacker😎 All honesty, the program was fun and user friendly it made learning so much easier. Being able to interact with others in Slack made learning less daunting. I didn't think that coding would be something that I could be interested in, this course proved me wrong and I'm eager to see more possibilities.
This basic Add-on workshop is a great opportunity to further your understanding of basic coding. It was both enjoyable and educational.

I was very nervous about learning how to code, but I am honestly surprised that I really enjoyed learning the different coding languages. Matt does a great job of explaining the content clearly in his videos. This was a great experience of learning the basics and I can't wait to make time to learn more in the future!

I never thought strolling through my Instagram feed would change my life and career path. I first saw a SheCodes ad on Instagram a year ago I was in college unhappy and uncertain with my life. I took a chance started the beginners coding course and never looked back , I dropped out of college and began my journey of coding through SheCodes by far the best decision of my life!
I loved it, very easy to understand.
It was such a nice pace to work through and incredibly detailed in terms of what knowledge to gain.

Hello everyone, I'm just a regular retail associate who just wants to do more. I do have a bachelor's degree in fine arts, but I don't really have anything to show for it, since I don't have a career in that field. So to feel not so "stuck" I decided to learn coding. I took the basic course 1) to see if I could actually do it and 2) to see if I would actually like it. The SheCodes basic course taught me I could do it, and I do actually kind of like it. The courses do have their challenges sometimes but you can easily get the help you need and Matt, the instructor, breaks everything down really nicely. I never thought online- learning could be for me but after taking this course I don't find it that bad. In my opinion, you can't go wrong in taking the basic course, it gives you an idea of what an actual career in tech could be and for little cost.
Great intro to coding!
After completing the "basic" course, I learned much more information than I expected. Learning was simple and interesting. Personally, I really liked it.
Using a grid-view is very helpful when designing web pages. It makes it easier to place elements on the page!
I am so happy to have signed up for the Basics add-on workshop. I learned more techniques and the project was fun to do! Can't wait to start the next add-on workshop!

I would highly recommend this intro to coding! After several free videos on Youtube I finally decided to go for a little more structure and I am happy with that desicion.

I went to college for mechanical engineering which was when I fell in love with coding and decided to change to Software Engineering. At the end of the day you do not need to go to college to get a job as a Software Engineer. Bootcamps are just as valid as an education as a degree. I personally went through the bootcamp route because university in the US is expensive and I don’t want to spend 4-5 years learning math and 5-10% of coding. Matt is a great teacher, one of the best I've had in a while. The way he teaches is simple and it's self paced. If one day you want to just take it easy or another day you want to put all your energy towards it. This bootcamp is quite friendly for people that like to be in control of how much their learning but with structure as well to keep you in check.
I learned a lot of new and awesome things this week. Feels good to have completed another lesson and have another certificate under my belt.
This workshop was one of the best which I have dreamed to attend.
This bootcamp + some instructional videos from a free coding bootcamp really helped me learn the basics of HTML, CSS, and javascript. I can't wait to keep going.

I enjoyed the classes. While some of the lessons were refreshers, I gained a tremendous amount of knowledge during the 3 weeks. Even though I faced bouts of frustration, at no point, did I want to quit. I recommend this course!
I feel so accomplished after completing this workshop! I was doing the self-taught method for quite some time but SheCodes gave me the structure I desperately needed! Things started to click for me 💡. I appreciated how thorough Matt was in his explanations and how the workshop was divided. This gave me the ability to be very hands-on which is my best learning style. The Slack channel and the assistants were extremely helpful! I am grateful for this program.

This is a great course if you are a true beginner looking to research whether or not web development is something worth further pursuing. The course definitely tests your mental strength and endurance, but the results are rewarding when you execute the assignment and the final results mirror that of the examples.
I really liked the course! The only two things I'd personally like to see are: 1 - consistency in what's taught in the video vs what's in the assignment. A lot of the things we're supposed to do for homework wasn't taught in the video, or was taught another way, and the answer we're given is to just "google it." I know, but if we're spending $$$ on this course, this info should also be given to us on a foundational level so we know what to google in the first place, and 2 - I'd love to see more "practice projects" that we can do that aren't necessarily graded, but we can maybe submit in a different slack channel for our peers to weigh in.
The SheCodes Responsive workshop was fun and showed me that I don't always have to resort to bootstrap to get the look and feel that I desire from my projects. Looking forward to react!
weeks 2 & 3 felt brief compared to week 1. Maybe spread out the workload a bit more?

What a quick and fun class! It was so great to learn something new and Matt's teaching was clear, thorough, and worth it! I had little trouble following along and have learned so much in such a short period of time. I am now looking into longer-form coding classes. What a great way to dip your toes in the water!

I had zero knowledge of any languages covered in the basics program. It was simple enough to follow along with the videos, and I really liked having a challenge right after the explanation video to test what was just covered. It helped me to learn it on my own, and I now feel a lot more confident for the next workshop!
Doing this was the first time I actually made a decision on my own and was able to have full control on how I preferred things. It made me realize that not only was this good for me to try a new thing, but it was a fun yet equally challenging experience that makes you want more.

The lessons and challenges are easy to follow and well explained. I'm so happy I went out of my comfort zone and joined SheCodes. At first I was a bit intimated, but as I went through the lessons it became more comfortable for me. If your thinking about joining, I say do it! It'll be worth it.
SheCodes Basic was a great introduction to the world of coding! I truly was a beginner, knew nothing at all about how to code or how it worked, and now I have a rockstar landing page in less than 3 weeks! Matt is a great teacher and I love how after a new concept is presented you immediately get to practice applying it.

I like how easily the videos are to follow and the quick response in the slack group when I have a question. Most of the time someone had the same question so the answer was already there! 10/10 recommend
I had a wonderful time going through this course. I was able to complete the whole 3 week workshop in 1 week as I worked on it full-time (about 3-5 hours each day). The slack channel is also very helpful to ask questions in real time when you're working on your code. I am excited to see what's in store for me next! I would love to become a Front-End Developer!
