I am so glad that I started this journey! I did not think I would be able to complete the workshop because of my full-time job, but the setup is helpful for those who need a flexible program. Additionally, getting extensions during those hard work weeks helped me keep going. The assignments made practicing what we learned fun!
A lot of info but helpful. When in doubt, researching and using slack helped a lot.

I had zero experience coding but the Basics workshop was a great way to begin learning and to try out whether or not coding would be something to continue learning. The lessons are broken down in a way that makes it easy to follow along and if you get stuck you have resources to help you out as you learn.
I've just finished SheCodes Basics and have learned so much in a short amount of time. Matt is a great teacher and does a good job at simplifying the more complex topics. I'm in a computer programming certificate program at a local university, but feel that I've learned more in just three weeks participating in SheCodes than I have in most of my university courses so far. With the SheCodes workshops, I truly believe ANYONE can not only learn to code, but can excel in the CS field.
I am more comfortable and confident!

I had such a great time with SheCodes Basics! I am a complete beginner to coding but I felt the videos easy to follow and the challenges were just the right amount of difficulty to challenge me, but not make it feel impossible. I certainly got stuck a time or two, but after going back and reviewing old videos or checking out Slack, I was able to sort out my mistakes. I can't wait to do another workshop!
I took the SheCodes Basics course and I loved it! Each week was very beneficial and I learned a lot while taking this course to expand my coding experience. I definitely would recommend this course, and I look forward to learning more here at SheCodes.
When I first started my journey, I was intimidated and overwhelmed by the vast amount of information and complex concepts that I needed to learn. I remember the feeling of accomplishment I had when I wrote my first few lines of code, and I still get that same rush of excitement every time I create something new. Learning how to code has been incredible. I would highly recommend anyone who is even remotely interested in coding to give it a try !
It was 11 years ago that I touched code and it is my passion now as much as it was before, I decided to retake that path and this course was a great way to start.
I was hesitant to try a coding workshop, but I am so happy that I did! The entire format makes the content easily digestible as well as enjoyable. I highly recommend it for anyone on the fence about coding.

The SheCodes Basic workshop provides a great introduction to coding for beginners. The course, in addition to your own research on topics discussed, is a great way to figure out if you'd like to continue your software engineering journey.

I am on a path toward learning UX Design, but was too interested in the coding aspect of tech AND the ethics and structure of this particular workshop! I gave it a go after a lot of thought, and while I've "only" learned the basics, I am ending the workshop feeling accomplished and open to learning much more, especially from SheCodes, but self-learning must be continued after this!! I planned to start SheCodes Max as soon as possible because I have a lot of faith that it will teach me valuable hard skills for development, but considering I am pursuing UX, I'll be holding off on Max to focus on UX Design specifically. However, thanks to Matt's great communication, I have assurance that I will be able to afford Max with the discount that was offered, when I am ready to take it on.

SheCodes basics was a fun and well-paced intro workshop that allowed me to pick up concepts quickly and with less confusion. I found myself jumping into lessons to keep the information coming. I was just excited to learn and try the next step. I loved Matt's approach to tackling trickier concepts and found the challenges fun and interesting. I cannot wait to start the next workshop and continue building my skills.
This dictionary app lets users search for word definitions, pronunciations, synonyms, and even example sentences—all powered by an API. I used React to create a clean, user-friendly interface with a search function that updates in real time. I had a great time learning introductory-level HTML, CSS, and Java Script in SheCodes Basics. I'm now eager to learn even more about coding!
The Plus add-on was very fun and interesting to learn.
Though I read other testimonials, I was still a bit intimidated by the idea of coding. I decided to go all in and have enjoyed learning thus far! Matt explains everything well and takes his time. If at any time a certain coding element slipped my mind I simply looked at my past challenges, homework, or at the lesson itself. I'm looking forward to how much more I will learn.
Really enjoyed this workshop. The teaching style and setup of the workshop was perfect for me, because I am a practical learner. The amount of work that needs to be completed is generally reasonable and challenging enough. I would highly recommend!

I really liked this project. It was a challenge but doable. The instruction was spot on and the help from the new Ai (Athena) and Slack team were invaluable.
I like the step by step walk through. This has been more helpful than any other course I have tried. Matt does a great job of explaining the process and takes his time with the exercises. I have enjoyed this first part of the journey, and look forward to the next lessons.

Taking this add-on after venturing into React for the first time in the React workshop was great additional practice for me. This mini workshop helped me cement React concepts (how components work and how they connect/how to troubleshoot) and made me more comfortable with applying this to my own projects. Seeing the instructor work out bugs on the tutorials (the thinking process and steps he takes) helped me with doing my own debugging. I have thoroughly enjoyed all the workshop SheCodes has to offer.
I started this course with zero knowledge or experience. There were times when I felt like an imposter but I took notes, referred back to them constantly, and rewatched videos. After watching myself apply the information I was learning, I was was truly amazed at how much I was retaining in such a short amount of time. I'm excited to keep going and learn more!
Loved returning to SheCodes for the Max program! Wanted to build a dictionary app and following Matt's tutorials helped where I was stuck! Highly recommened!

Ladies and non-binary folks, if you're looking to get your feet wet in the world of coding, SheCodes is where it's at! I recently completed their Basics course, and had such a great time that I decided to level up and try out their SheCodes Plus program. Let me tell you, some of those later sections were a real brain-bender, but the experience was totally worth it. If you're a newbie to coding, I'd definitely recommend practicing your JavaScript skills and dabbling with APIs a bit before diving in. But with a little bit of elbow grease and a lot of patience, you'll be coding up a storm in no time. A huge shoutout to Matt and the whole SheCodes team for putting together such a fantastic program - you guys rock!

SheCodes felt very empowering for me as women. I did the intro to coding and lets just say I had so much fun learning HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I want to continue to learn and progress my knowledge. With that being said, I will be back SheCodes!
