Transitioning to a new career is one of the hardest things I've ever done, but after starting SheCodes, I knew I had made the right decision. I didn't only fall back in love with coding, but I also feel happier and so proud of myself. Today I celebrate getting the first certificate of many to come in this journey. This has been a very insightful experience building this weather application, I already have a technical background outside of development and with the right fundamentals it was possible to excel my expectations and improve my knowledge to push further than ever and most of all I had a lot of fun while doing all this!
SheCodes Basic has been fun to learn! I really like that we are able to learn at our own pace. The lessons are explained well and it's great that we can rewatch the videos at any time. The challenges, homework assignments, and project have made me think but they've also been fun. I'm looking forward to moving on to the next set of Workshops!
I really liked how much we really dove into CSS in this course. I feel much more comfortable with styling now.
Iβve been working in retail, healthcare , and in Customer Service since Iβve graduated college. I currently work at a call center as a Customer Support Specialist and I was in desperate need of a career change. I was hesitant of making a big transition into coding until I gave it a shot to see if I would like it. I tried SheCodes and discovered a love and interest in coding.She code definitely helped me overcome imposter syndrome and gave me the confidence to want to learn how to code. I appreciated the flexibility or learning at my own pace and having workshops that are detailed and break concepts down to where itβs easy to follow along.Iβm now going to focus on learning how to code to become a front end developer one day.
This is a good introduction course for newbies to coding. Weeks 1 and 2 were long, but you learn a lot about HTML, CSS, and Java. Week 3 was my favorite since you get to create a page from scratch. I recommend SheCodes to others that are curious about coding and webpage designing.

This React Add-On course gave me more experience with React. React JS is a difficult concept to grasp but this extra course has helped me understand it more.
It felt so good being able to complete the beginner's course. Matt's instruction were easy to follow. I honestly don't think I could've done it without him. I cannot wait to continue on to the next workshop. I highly recommend

I'm absolutely loving learning to code with SheCodes! The lessons are broken down and explained so well, it makes it super easy to understand! The schedule flexibility is also a life saver for me as I am a full time student and worker so I can only do so much every week, but this makes it convenient.
This was an excellent refresher on the foundations. I've dabbled in html and css but this was a really great walk through to get best practices. Plus, I'd never done javascript before so that was definitely helpful!

In the SheCodes Responsive Workshop, the website I chose to build for my project was a developer portfolio. As I was creating my online portfolio, it was amazing to see how much I have grown as a frontend developer since starting the SheCodes Workshops!
I took the SheCodes Basics course during my spring break because I'm thinking of a career change, and thought this would be a good way to see if coding is something I'd like. The class was affordable, and I ended up really liking it! The videos were easy to understand, and I am considering saving up for the other classes.
This was great.
I enjoy how flexible this program is; I worked full time the entire time of the program and studied on the weekends, and a couple of hours on Mondays and Wednesdays. To be honest, I still feel a little lost and my final project is not 'perfect,' but I would like to continue learning to develop these skills and take my project to the next level. Everyone is very helpful on Slack and I am excited to review the next topics, I am doing SheCodes Max.
At first, I thought this would be the hardest thing I have done, but I am glad Shecodes made it easy and understandable. We were encouraged to keep it simple, and I am confident that I will be making my own professional portfolio. Thank you Shecodes for teaching me how to go about it! I look forward to learning more!

I have recently made a career change from working in healthcare to wanting to become a software engineer. Since completing SheCodes Basics I realized this was the perfect choice for me! I enjoyed every part of SheCodes Basics and was very excited and eager to move on to the next section to learn more. The harder the challenge the more fun I had! I am so happy to have begun my journey to become a software engineer! :)
SheCodes Basics was a great way for me to dip my toes into the world of coding. I enjoyed the way the classes were set up with videos, challenges and homework, which allowed me to learn by doing. It was also beneficial for me to be able to work at my own time and my own pace.

Awesome experience to learn the fundamentals of CSS, HTML, and JavaScript - very cool to see the final project come to life. There where times of frustration but worth it once, the solution came to light.

This course filled in the gaps from previous coding classes that I took. The instructor really explains the concept and tests your knowledge after each concept and at the end of the week you put everything together to show how these items work together in a real example. I have learned to start simple and then add my format and styling elements one piece at a time to understand where I have made errors and to easily fix them.

I have had a personal interest in learning more about the basics of coding but through this basic's course, I found it will help me with my professional aspirations as well. I found these courses to be helpful as a way to digest the learnings as I had time to devote to them each week. The SheCodes React Add-On was so much fun! I had a great time building a Dictionary App. It was a very similar experience to building the Weather App. This mini-project allowed me to practice my React skills further. Another project that I can add to my portfolio thanks to SheCodes!

I highly recommend taking this class as it offers you a detailed and well-paced start into the field of web design and development. It was really fun completing all these little coding challenges along the way as it helped me implement and test my skills consistently and thoroughly.
The React workshop was definitely a challenge and by the end of this project everything that Matt talked about made sense and came together. I had so much fun doing this project and learned a lot!

I would highly recommend anyone who has even a slight interest in coding, to sign up for SheCodes basics. It's a solid introduction to coding and will provide you with foundational skills. I will say that the challenges are just that...challenging! However, I felt very well supported and had access to many resources to help debug my code or answer questions. I'm not sure where this path will take me, but I'm definitely signing up for the next course. It's exciting to learn something totally new!

This add-on workshop consisted of creating a World Clock page with many various JavaScript features. It was fun personalizing the project and I have many more ideas of how to enhance it in the future as I learn more functions.
I developed so much confidence with JavaScript in this course! I'm really proud of everything I've learned to do and I thoroughly enjoyed my time learning how to navigate more advanced code.

The five week course that could've gotten done in two weeks. By the end of week three I no longer watched any video or solution by week five I just kept turning things in bc already knew what it was they wanted of me. it is a waste of time but happy to get something out of it.

This workshop was amazing! I loved how the instructor Matt throughly explained the fundamentals of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I entered this course not knowing anything about coding, to looking forward to the endless possibilities of the world of coding! π If I were to ever get stuck on one of the challenges or homework AthenaAI along with the Slack chat were great resources.
I have tried other coding classes in the past and SheCodes was the only one that helped me truly understand JS. Matt, the instructor does an excellent job at organizing the weekly lessons and assignments in a way that really speaks to my style of learning. I was able to follow along and loved that after you submitted your challenge, he would go over the solution so you can understand where you may have went wrong and how to fix it. I wanted to see if coding could be for me and I loved the creativity and organization that goes into it and I'm so glad I took SheCodes Basics. I plan to enroll in SheCodes Max soon!
