SheCodes Plus was a great experience! This course builds on the beginning workshop skills and adds so much more. I really liked that we were taught real world workflow and how to problem solve on our own. That feeling when your project finally works is a whole mood. Do not hesitate to take this course! After trying so hard to learn coding on my own from free websites, I had information but had no idea how to apply it. The course was structured in a way that finally let me make sense of all this information I was trying to take in and now I feel confident to pursue *crossed fingers* a career as a web developer π.
SheCodes is a great program. I received my BS in Biology, but quickly figured that it wasn't for me. I received a MEng in Systems Engineering and ever since, have been trying to increase my technical skills. This program has helped me to get the head start into the technical field that I was looking for. Everything was well explained and the process was extremely efficient and smooth. I would highly recommend!

I absolutely loved SheCodes workshop. It can be very difficult to stay motivated with online education, but something about SheCodes makes it so easy! As a beginner into coding, I benefitted greatly from Matt's step-by-step teaching through his videos. The lessons are bite-sized so I was never overwhelmed by information in a single seating. The challenges after each lessons are a great help in refreshing my memories and a big help in putting the lessons into actual practice. The moderator(s) on Slack were also super efficient in answering all sorts of questions I encountered during my learning journey. I love how feedback were given after each homework submission so I know what I did wrong in the process.

I really enjoyed my 3rd week project because i can create and decorate my own page which makes it fun! I have learned a lot in these past few weeks. I've taken a few coding classes before but I liked this one a lot more. Even though it was all online the instructions were clear and left little to no room for confusion. I've always had a hard time taking online classes because the information isn't always clear and leaves room for questions. I had very little questions about each lesson and the ones that i did have were easily answered just by going back and reviewing previous lessons. If you're hesitant about online only courses, trust me, this one is for you.
I had a semi basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript prior to this course, but the way Matt's videos explained each concept made everything easier to understand and remember. I can't wait for the next couple of courses so I can get a deeper understanding of each language, in hopes to utilize the knowledge to help me start a career in coding someday.

This course has made learning how to code so fun and exciting. I've always been hesitant on taking coding bootcamps due to lack of time but I absolutely love how this is structured to be for people who are in school or in the workforce full time. Matt explains things in a clear and concise way and the real time assistance via Slack gives me reassurance for whenever I run into issues. I'm looking forward on upgrading to the next workshop!

This was my first coding class and I loved the format! Getting to move at my own pace but being held accountable for weekly deadlines was really motivating without being overwhelming. I also loved being able to leverage Slack when needed for help on assignments or just to see whether others were encountering the same challenges I had. SheCodes is a true community!
I'm so glad I found SheCodes! I'm currently looking into switching to a career in tech so I've been using different platforms to learn how to code. SheCodes really helped me to understand what I've been learning already with all the challenges, and the project. Before I was just absorbing information, but after going through this program I feel a lot more confident about coding. I would suggest using another coding program at the same time as you're completing the SheCodes basic workshop since you don't dive too deep into HTML, CSS, and Javascript. But if you sign up for the other workshops you most likely won't have to do that. Overall I really enjoyed this workshop!
Hello, I was excited to take this class but due to personal circumstances, I could never take it. Then the pandemic hit, and I suddenly was allotted way more time to focus on a new skill to improve my resume and overall knowledge. Although it was hard to balance home life and this class, I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family. This class provides you the basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript so that way you can expand on that learning in the future. Thanks Matt!
I love how beginner friendly the SheCodes Express Workshop is. The information is presented in a way that is easy to understand. Also the resources and programs used throughout the course made coding less intimidating, which I greatly appreciated. I definitely recommend this workshop for first time coders.

I've learned so much in the last 3 weeks and have really enjoyed having to find some of the solutions on my own. It helped me understand the process better and the video lessons were super informative and easy to follow.
SheCodes is Amazing...Like really REALLY AMAZING. Its a sensational learning tool. After only two weeks, I was able to make this project with no help while working 84hr weeks during the CoVid19 pandemic. I can't stress enough that I was at level 0, in terms of technical knowledge, when I started this workshop. My confidence in my ability to learn computer languages has to have gone up by 100%.

I absolutely loved this course! I came into it knowing a little HTML but still felt like I learned leaps and bounds more. The HTML and CSS were by far my favourite part. they were fun to watch and I loved the challenges. I wish javascript had focused less on alerts/prompts and much more on functionalities you see on websites you use now. I know what we learned can be applied to other functions but still feel not sure how I would apply them. That's really my gripe about the course. The project was really fun and wish there was more!

This workshop blew me away! The curriculum thoroughly introduces HTML, CSS, and JS. I especially enjoyed the structure and available resources. Each lesson includes a video and a challenge to practice the learned skills. The course also grants access to a messaging software that allows collaboration between students. What a great way to learn! I really loved the accountability. It was so important for me to finish my homework every week and make sure I really understood the content. I've completed tons of my homework before - I have a Bachelor's and my MBA - but it's been awhile! The content was broken down in easy chunks, but also gave you enough challenge that you had to push yourself. A great way to learn the basics.
I highly recommend SheCodes! If you have ever thought about learning to code. This is a great starting point to test the waters. I came in as a novice with no coding experience whatsoever. SheCodes eased me into the world of coding by making it understandable. Believe me! The weekly challenges will test you. But the end result is rewarding!

I came into this workshop knowing nothing about coding, and left feeling so inspired to keep learning more! The whole curriculum is very approachable--videos are short but very informative and easy to refer back to, the challenges and homework are helpful and the final project was really fun to work on. I found myself looking forward to this every day and spending hours in my final week working on creating new things outside of the workshop because it was so fun. The Slack group was helpful for questions, someone usually got back to me within a few hours with a quick and helpful answer, and it was really cool to see how many women were taking this from all over the world. This was my first exposure to coding, and Matt's teaching style and enthusiasm takes the intimidation factor out of it for anyone who might be hesitant to try. I highly recommend giving this a try--I definitely want to continue learning more after this.
I am 26 and had a child at 15. Our life has been a ride. I have been a server for well over 8 years and never have I ever thought about coding until our state went into lockdown and everyone including me lost our jobs. It was and still is quite scary but signing up for SheCodes has empowered me in a way I have never been able to reach before. I loved the entire course and I woke up bright and early every morning to finish my homework and study on my own time. Matt is a personable instructor that took the edge off learning something completely new and intimidating. I came into this with absolutely no knowledge of coding. And now I'm hooked. I've been interested in learning how to code for years, and this was a great introductory workshop to HTML, CSS, and Javascript! I have a very busy work schedule, but I was able to complete the tutorials, challenges, and homework assignments over the weekends. Matt is a great instructor and a very clear communicator, and you are able to relate and discuss questions or issues with SheCodes staff and your peers anytime over Slack. I feel more confident in my understanding of coding basics, and I am interested in taking the next step to learn more. My only regret is not signing up for a SheCodes workshop sooner!
