I have been trying to learn how to code for years now. Until I took this workshop I felt so lost. This was definitely a great choice, I've learned so much more in three weeks than in the years I tried to learn on my own. I feel so much more confident about coding. I can't wait to move up to the next level!

Great instruction with logical lessons that build your skills slowly. I got a lot out of it in only 3 weeks and always felt supported by the staff and fellow students. I wish I could easily refer back to some of the material, especially when doing the challenges, but overall it's a great beginner course. Highly recommended!
I had a lot of fun going through this course. The Slack channel was very helpful and everyone was so welcoming. I think learning how to code is a great skill to add for anyone and I look forward to utilizing what I learned in my future UX/UI design projects!

I highly recommend SheCodes to anyone who wants to learn how to code. The basic workshop was a lot of fun! I learned a lot and I am now eager to learn more about coding. The lessons they designed were divided per topic and each topic had its own practice or "challenges". So you will learn coding step-by-step. It was rewarding to see the developments in the different challenges that I completed because they looked better than the ones before. I got to be creative in how I wanted the page to look and add interactions for anyone who viewed the page. I am very happy that I took the SheCodes workshop!
This class is fantastic! I have been wanting for quite a while to learn JavaScript and gain a better understanding of HTML and CSS to improve my content development skills, and this was the perfect class to challenge me to learn and put my new skills to the test. I've taken a couple of other less cost-effective HTML courses and things just didn't click the way they did when Matt broke everything down. Each lesson is short and easy to digest, and Matt is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about what he does (as are the rest of the SheCodes staff!). Highly recommended!

Amazing coding workshop! I am a Designer and a Luxury Marketer and I had always wanted to develop my coding skills to the next level, but I always postponed it because I thought it was very complicated and hard to understand until I got to learn from Matt! He explains in a very smooth and easy way for you to completely understand and his team is always there for your questions. This workshop is exactly what I was looking for, it gives you the ability to apply and create while you are learning and that is what helps you to make the most out of this course. I am now excited to continue with the next workshops to become a front- end developer.
Not only is this workshop comprehensive and helpful, but a lot of fun! I enjoyed doing the lessons and the project.
Although I struggled through some parts of this workshop, I am truly grateful that I stuck through until the end! As a 17-year-old finishing high school and aspires to become an engineer, this workshop helped open my mind and expand my knowledge to a world I never knew existed. Such an incredibly intuitive way to learn! Great examples and easy to follow along videos that prompted further learning and more research once a topic was introduced which warranted more curiosity on my part. I definitely would recommend this as a starting point for anyone who is interested or even curious about starting their coding journey. This course is easily digestible and leaves you with relevant skills that prepare you to further your knowledge if you choose to do so. If not, still a great base knowledge of CSS, HTML and ES6.
Nicely put together lessons that I was able to complete at my own pass. Not to easy but not to hard. Makes the process of learning what can be tedious and frustrating a pleasant experience.

I have been wanting to try coding to see if I liked it for a while but I was reluctant as I had no previous experience whatsoever with coding and I had no idea if it would be something I could actually do, or enjoy. I watched the SheCodes Video and decided that I would give it a try. Surprisingly, I enjoyed this 3 months more than I was expecting as the videos are easy to follow, Matt gives you great advice and if we get stuck, we can always count on the team to help us out on Slack. It was challenging at times, but also very rewarding when you get to see the result of something you have built. The project at the end was a lot of fun because we got to use an weather API. I've been shopping around for the perfect coding bootcamp and I couldn't decide because I wasn't set on the prices or the courses, always something that made me hesitate. But then I found SheCodes and the way Matt teaches is so great and easy to understand! I knew right away he is an expert and not only tech savvy but business savvy, which was the last thing that made me decide on signing up right away and I'm so glad I did! The Shecodes workshop was a great introduction to web dev. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get their feet wet in it. I am signed up for Shecodes+ and excited to see what else they have to offer. The lessons have challenges after every video. You go at your own pace and at the end of the week there is weekly homework. I great way to practice all the things learned during the week. Deadlines are helpful for anyone looking for a little structure with some flexibility.

As a Product Designer, I've tried learning to code on my own several times but it was difficult to stick to courses without structure or community. This course was the solution to my problem! Each class had clear instructions, and if I ever had an issue I was able to get help from the SheCodes community via Slack. Now I feel more confident with coding and I am excited to take these skills to the next level!
I ve tried learning coding on my own but it was difficult as any free class does not give you any tips on what programs to use. This course was perfect for a beginner like me. There were clear instructions on what needs to be dowloaded and how to use it. Also, I was pleasantly surprise that you get help as well. If you have a question, you will get a response pretty quickly. I would recommend this course.
Joining SheCodes was the best decision I've made in quite some time. I was ready to challenge myself, learn something new, and change career paths but wasn't sure where to start. I can't believe how easy it was to learn! I played around with HTML back in middle school and early high school so the HTML part of the course was like a nice refresher. CSS was super fun since you get to start the designing part of the coding. Then came JavaScript. It was a challenge but still super fun! I can't wait to move on to the next course to expand me knowledge! If you are considering joining, do it! You will not regret it!
I started my intro to coding on July 27, 2020 and three weeks later with no prior experience I have learned some basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I love the lessons and look forward to doing more that is why I signed up for the SheCodes Plus and React. The best coding workshop ever! Prior to Shecodes, I never really got to code. I was only familar with some languages through youtube but would forget them easily because I didn't have anything to practice with. But Shecodes changed that! With a weekly homework and many practices, I've had enough practice and felt like I was actually learning. Besides, Matt is a great instructor and his lessons are very engaging. 10/10 I would take this course again!
I loved the SheCodes experience a lot! I can't tell I finished a front end development course because it does not give you deep knowledge and understanding of coding. However, it gives you an idea how it would look like to be a programmer and inspires you to develop your skills further. The project was very interesting and it motivates me to continue studying.

Even though I was working i would still want to come back to shecodes and learn soemthing new here. Coding became like a game or a trove to solve that I would look forward to everyday. Thanks to Shecodes I can pick this up as a hobby and work on it more. I never thought i could do it.
These workshops and videos have been great at grasping the basics into HTML, CSS and JS. A week is plenty enough time to complete all the tasks and Matt makes it very easy to follow along.

This is a great first step in understanding how to code in HTML, CSS and JavaScript using VS Code. While working, I found this model of teaching to be perfect for me as I could fit the lessons and homework around my schedule. There is a range of easy to complicated prompts, which help you build ideas one step at a time. Matt also shows you valuable tricks on how to use the internet to answer your questions as well as offer insights into how current coders work, which strengthened my confidence. You won't regret it.

SheCodes Plus is a great extension to the SheCodes Workshop. I have advanced my skills in HTML, CSS and Javascript. I loved how every week the lessons would build off each other. It is cool to see your homework from each week develop to your final project. This course has given me much more confidence. My coding skills have greatly increased and I am much more knowledgeable. I am looking forward to the next workshop and going out into the real world to put my new found skills to work.

I always wanted to learn how to code but didn't know where to start. The three week program was easy to follow and extremely beneficial!
Matt provides easy to follow, step-by-step video lessons on learning code, always paired with written code and other resources to supplement the videos. I found the homework to be an extra challenge beyond the lesson content! Which is exactly what I want out of this course--to be challenged to use the newly learned material independently. Help is always available, of course--I personally found the slack community to be VERY helpful when I got caught on homework. Plus, there are solution videos after every lesson and homework assignment. All in all, I feel like my understanding of code has grown substantially after taking this course. I look forward to continuing Matt's advanced courses! Thank you everyone!
I couldn't recommend this course enough! Matt was straight to the point and taught us exactly what we needed to know to grasp a basic foundation without taking up weeks of our time. I'm a hands-on fast learner, and other courses out there were a bit on the monotonous end for me. SheCodes, was exactly what I needed to have an edge in the ever changing tech world, plus the response time of the support team is unparalleled. The 3-week SheCodes workshop I attended was perfect for someone like me dipping their toes into coding! I began this course hoping to gain a new skill while stuck quarantining at home and I can confidently say I've learned basic but practical coding skills I'll definitely use throughout my undergraduate studies and in my career. If you fully commit to the course material and its deadlines, you will get the most out of this program.
I found the workshop to be very informative and fun! While it is ultimately self led, I found that it was broken down in a way that was easy to follow and understand. I never felt overwhelmed during the workshop. The material teaches you and also tests your knowledge through assignments that challenge you to think.
I am so happy I found SheCodes and decided to take the leap to finally learn to code! Matt is an amazing teacher, I really can't stress that enough. He explains everything so well that for me personally, everything just 'clicked' in my head. Because of SheCodes, I am now on the road to expand my knowledge and pursue this as a life long career. This course was a great mix of challenging and achievable β for beginners! I really enjoyed learning the basics of HTML and CSS in tandem, as I've learned a little of each separately before. Learning it all together helped me understand the purpose of each piece! I really enjoyed the videos (friendly and straightforward explanations), and I appreciated the ability to discuss or ask questions. If you already know the fundamentals of HTML, you'll want to try something more advanced, but I'd recommend this to anyone interested in the basics.
In three weeks, I was doing more in coding than my boyfriend, who is halfway through his computer science degree! I only did the three-week course for familiarization with terms so that I can be a better member on my team at work when collaborating with the developers. Still, I honestly enjoyed it so much I'm considering upgrading to one of the longer courses!
This was a great experience. I knew nothing about coding but I can honestly say that I left with a good foundation in order to keep learning. I would suggest anyone to take the workshops if you want to see if coding is for you.
I am so grateful to have come across the SheCodes and SheCodes+ workshops. The culture of helping women grow in the web development industry is so inspiring and empowering.
