I really enjoyed this workshop! Matt was a great instructor and made the lessons easy to follow and understand. I feel like I learned a lot and have a a good grasp on intro html, CSS and JavaScript.
Super helpful in learning new coding techniques. I had a little trouble keeping up and understanding why certain functions were built the way they were and that wasn't completely explained that well but overall, it's a great start and I look forward to continuing my journey with SheCodes Plus React!
I really enjoyed this course! I love how each section was broken down and we took it one step at a time. You really don't need any prior experience to understand basic html, css and JS. It is easy to pick up and learn! Thank you so much for putting this workshop together!
This 3-week course was easy to follow yet challenging. Great workshop to learn the basics of coding quickly.

I was excited to find students could develop a basic website by the end of week 1! By the end of the workshop, I feel confident with my basic coding skills. I was able to create a well-designed, nice looking, interactive website in a few hours. SheCodes gives a lot of insight into what coding really is...the insider's view. I'm so happy with my experience so far.

While I was working full time SheCodes gave me an opportunity to explore the world of coding with easy tutorials that taught the basic elements.

I didn't expect to learn so much from this course! Having zero background into coding, I was pleasantly surprised how much I picked up. Matt was easy to understand and turned the lessons into easy to grasp concepts that I was able to remember. The homework was both challenging and enjoyable, and a good mix of tutorials vs. self learning ( I googled so much items!) Thanks for a great introduction into coding, I feel I can understand computers better now :)

I started SheCodes knowing nothing about coding and knowing that I wanted to get a bit of exposure before jumping fully into school again. This was the perfect intro course to get my feet wet and make sure this career path change would be the right fit for me.
The way I've always felt about coding would be the same as trying to catch a moving train: a rush of information in constant change and many different languages to make your choice of learning extremely overwhelming. The way SheCodes is structured makes the train move in a slower-but-steady pace, so you can learn on your own time how to code and feel confident that you too can become a coder. Amidst all of this, I'd say the best part about the workshop is the Slack community that helps you through doubts and mistakes you couldn't catch yourself. The members are extremely nice and helpful which made me feel like my questions weren't too basic or simple. Thank you SheCodes team and members for the wonderful learning experience!

I chose 3 out of 5 for this product for a few different reasons. Some of the reasons I will list have a positive and a negative side to them. I am continuing on to complete the Plus and React courses as well, but the Workshop has set the tone for me in regards to expectations from SheCodes. POSITIVES: (1) SheCodes will help me reach a decent skill level in coding languages and software that are brand new to me. (2) The instructor provides good resources for you to further your knowledge [on your own]. (3) You can learn most of this information for FREE online, but the key to SheCodes is the packaging. You would have a difficult time finding a similar course that includes infrastructure, support and accountability. In my opinion, that is where SheCodes SHINES and is the primary benefit of learning code through this platform. NEGATIVES: (1) While the instructor points you in the right direction to helpful resources, I feel that SheCodes should also provide reference materials within the program (material created by SheCodes). The documentation for each lesson is helpful but it is inconvenient to hunt down, for example, how to properly code an event listener in JavaScript after I have moved on from that lesson. Also, the documentation for topics were introduced too early or too late. There were a few times where I remember watching the video then viewing the documentation and seeing concepts that had yet to be discussed in the videos - which also makes it harder to hunt down documentation later on while working on the project. (2) In the same vein, I also wish that there was actual documentation. The documentation included are examples at best, but I feel with the cost of the program, there should be accompanying text. Personally, I grasp concepts so much better when I can read something through. I understand you learn code by doing it, but I should have the option to read and understand why, for example, I have to change an image display to block if I want to center it on the webpage. The instructor videos VERY LIGHTLY scratch the surface of each language, and I feel that I deserve WAY more out of SheCodes for the cost. I still have 2 more sessions of SheCodes so maybe I will find more value along the way. CONCLUSION: SheCodes has good packaging but it only gets 3 stars from me, because I will still have to find and/or create my own reference materials to retain the skills I've learned. I am continuing on to SheCodes Plus then React, so I am excited to keep learning (especially so quickly)! However, I fear this will only amount to three INTRODUCTORY courses that I overpaid for.
Such an incredible coding course! I went into this course knowing very little about coding, and just after three weeks my confidence in moving forward into web design has escalated tremendously!
This was a fun way to learn the basic's to html, css and Javascript. The support team was very fast with helping you figure out your code and bugs. I would highly recommend if you're curious about coding.

I loved this workshop. The videos were easy to understand and Matt explained all the concepts in detail so doing the homework on my own was challenging, but doable. I felt like I learned so much in such a short period of time.
I was able to accomplish developing a functional weather website that I never dreamed I could do otherwise. This course has given me confidence in my ability to create and understand code that actually results in a functional project. Looking forward to learning about REACT!

SheCodes is a great way to gain a basic understanding of how coding works! I learned a lot in these three weeks! It's a lot of work, but you'll gain a lot of learning from it and a whole lot of fun too! I recommend this to anyone that's simply curious about what coding is.

It was much more basic than I thought it would be. I would recommend it to a friend who is unconfident and inexperienced with coding, but if they are somewhat familiar with it, I would not.
I had a great time with the workshop! Matt did a great job explaining the fundamentals and this has given me the foundation needed to learn concepts on my own and expand my knowledge. I would definitely consider signing up for the more advanced workshops in the future.
I had no doubts about taking SheCodes Plus once I finished the initial workshop because of how much I enjoyed the learning process and I am glad I did! The class is super organized and extremely well thought out. The step by step structure allows you to learn efficiently - the class is challenging but not overwhelming because of how well it's set up. The team is also super helpful on Slack - I always had my questions answered every time I hit a roadblock. I would recommend this course to anyone who is interested in learning to code!

This is a great program for coding beginners! I was able to complete the program while working full time. The lessons were easy to follow yet homework assignments were challenging enough. I decided to continue my coding journey with SheCodes after learning a ton in the intro workshop and finding that I really enjoyed it. I really love this style of learning because you can revisit the difficult material as many times as you need. I'm leaving this workshop feeling accomplished and excited for React!

Within just three weeks, I learned a lot! I always saw codes while dealing with stories at work, but I never understood them. I highly recommend SheCodes Plus for anyone who wants to learn how to build a working website from scratch. The fact that the lessons are divided into topics helped me a lot to understand the step-by-step process of building a website that can provide important information such as the current weather. I am very happy that I now have a published website that accurately states the weather in any city in the world.
