A great introductory course in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Matt did an excellent job in his classes, providing a thorough yet manageable groundwork to a topic that can be overwhelming at times. The foundations learned throughout the course are a great start to high-quality work in the field!
I really enjoyed this workshop! It was easy to follow, and the analogies and examples really helped me remember how everything works. I think this workshop was much easier to understand than when I was in college π³ , and it was a lot of fun! Thank you!
SheCode was exactly the course I needed as a beginner that's looking to enter the web world, I'm a everyday dental assistant and now I feel comfortable coding. Though this is just the beginning I've learned a lot because of the detailed information that built a solid foundation within the past 3 weeks, super excited for the future!
Was a bit skeptical at first, but ultimately really (pleasantly!) shocked by how much I learned in this course - and how quickly! Highly recommend.
This workshop took me back to the days where I would customize Myspace with all kinds of images, fonts and other props. The simplicity of the modules provide clear step-by-step instructions that allow you to fully understand what you're working on and why it's useful. I would encourage all women that have an interest in coding to give it a try, it's definitely worth it!

This was a fantastic way of learning the basics of coding! It was engaging and I learned more than I thought I would. The exercises made it much easier than I originally anticipated.
I found all of the videos easy to follow and the exercises challenging without being frustrating. I appreciated how I could go at my own pace and the support that was available on Slack. I work with developers every day, and while I always knew what they do is difficult, this workshop helped me understand on a deeper level just how difficult their work is. I'm thankful to this workshop for not only giving me introductory programming skills and knowledge but also allowing me to better understand and appreciate my colleagues and their work.
SheCodes was a wonderful experience! The lessons were informative and I really enjoyed completing the challenges and homework to test my knowledge. These exercises could be frustrating, but there were plenty of resources available and the solutions for review were great. I'm so glad I enrolled!

Based on my experience with SheCodes, it was a great introduction to coding and helped me take the needed steps in understanding the basics of coding. SheCodes inspired me to continue to learn more about coding in hopes to get a career change.
Quick course and the self-pacing was great. I was able to complete the course in a week. This is definitely a course for BEGINNER coders. If you have any coding experience, you will likely feel as though this course moves slowly (many of the videos were review for me). As a teacher, I was disappointed to find when I wanted to complete more advanced coding in my homework and I told to hold off and instead register for one of the more advanced courses and wait to try it then. It made me feel as though the instructor's help was not really helpful and I was passed off for wanting to try to complete some of the work shown in an advanced video.
This course really challenged me, but I had really great help along the way. I am very thankful that I have this great new skill to take with me on my next adventure!
I have never coded in my life before, but the SheCodes Workshops made it look easy and fun for me! I learned entirely a new skill that I would like to practice deeper in the future. After every challenge that I would overcome during coding, I felt satisfied with the achievements I have done. Thank you to the team and Matt for making this happen!
Challenging but rewarding
Highly informative and easy to digest. Missing some deeper explanations (like why do we use div vs span, how coding impacts internet searches and crawls, etc), but the knowledge covered is more than enough to kickstart your coding career.
I chose SheCodes as an intro into the coding world. My goal was to learn the basics so that I can then be able to teach my elementary students. I met my goal, and am now interested in learning more! SheCodes made it easy, understandable and doable.
SheCodes has taught me applicable skills that I'll be sure to utilize in the future. I feel empowered to learn subject-matter in a primarily male-dominated field.
SheCodes is wonderful! The videos are clear, well structured, and organized. It's also an asynchronous class - you can learn and work on your homeworks/projects whenever convenient for you. I finished the three-week coding class in a week and was surprised by how much knowledge I gained already! I'm excited to unfold what the next class has for me. Highly recommended!
Learning to code for the first time ever from scratch is a very intimidating thing. However, Matt and the support team provide such simple teaching and great knowledge to get you through the course. I never realized how much I love coding until now. I am excited to take coding to the next level and apply it to my career!

The only time I have ever coded was with myspace and even that was only copy and paste lol. it's cool to now understand what the codes mean as well as how things function. This workshop is useful and easy to understand. Our teacher Matt did a great job of explaining everything as well as show many examples.

Never thought I could code one day! SheCodes really encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone! Highly recommended even for kids!
This course cleared up all of my "what is that?", "what does this do?", "what does this mean?"...."what?!?!?" feelings. I now understand what coders are referring to on stackoverflow, github, and reddit when I search for a term, a way to do something, or when I'm generally curious. Overall this course flows at an excellent pace, is broken down into little snippets, and sprinkles in various little surprises here and there. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to start somewhere without feeling overwhelmed by scattered, never-ending information and resources on the internet. And on top of that, I was able to find a lot of interesting things outside of the scope of this course from the suggestions in each video. I really appreciated all the help on the slack channel, too!
SheCodes was an amazing workshop! I will continue with SheCodes Plus in the summer. I learned a lot and found my passion for coding. The radio really got me through the assignments, and I just got lost in it all! I will continue to learn more and gain a career as a front end and back end developer!

Since it was my first ever coding workshop (I literally didn't have any prior knowledge), I don't know where else to compare to it, but I enjoyed this workshop SO MUCH! I once thought it would have been wonderful if I was explained more (I was sometimes asked to do what the video didn't teach me), but I guess Matt, the instructor, intended to train us in searching/googling skills -because you would not always have someone to help you around and therefore google will be your best friend when coding; I was also able to learn and find A LOT of interesting things by accident when trying out new properties:) Before this workshop, I was just a high school sophomore who liked design and was slightly interested in coding, but now I see a new path and possibility opened to me; my dream job is a frontend developer now! To the most-valuable-3-weeks that has changed my future and life, Thank you!
This was my first time trying to learn how to code and I really enjoyed and understood the instructions Matt presented. I really benefitted from the Slack community that SheCodes provides. The videos and challenges Matt provided were very helpful. I am excited to continue onto the next workshop.
I think it is important to link with a teacher that teaches at your pace. I have tried a few different programs and didn't understand what I was being taught. However, at SheCodes, I have found that Matt teaches in a way that is simplified and understandable. I have shared this link with 5 friends already who are interested and I say "he teaches to the point, to get this, do this". That is the type of teaching that I learn from. I also found Slack to be useful when I am stuck as other programs do not have that option.
I had a great time doing this program. It has helped me start building a foundation in coding and get a sense of how it is to use real developer tools. I enjoyed doing the challenges, and they helped me feel I was progressing.

If you are looking to venture into the world of coding, this is a highly recommended workshop. Over three weeks you learn a tremendous amount of information about HTML, CSS, and Javascript. The SheCodes platform was user-friendly and it created a great learning environment that challenged me to get out of my comfort zone. An added bonus, is being in a community of like-minded individuals which was supportive and uplifting. The instructor and staff are knowledgeable and are quick to provide assistance when you are stuck. Overall, it was a great experience!

This workshop is a helpful starting point. I liked being able to speed up the course or slow it down, while still being accountable to practice and submit work. Combined with the flexibility and permanent access to lessons after completion, it's incredibly useful.

I found the SheCodes 3-week self-paced class to be really easy to fit into a very busy life. I took this class alongside a friend to have some accountability and it's been great to be able to bounce ideas off and work with each other. If I didn't have this, there is a huge Slack channel of folks to reach out to and collaborate with, which is awesome! I loved the material we learned and the freedom of the last assignment. I'd recommend this to anyone who is code-curious and has been waiting to take a plunge and make the commitment. You can do it! We can all do it!
I tried a few other "learn how to code" websites. I frustrated immediately on a few and learned through a free trial on a few others. This website has been detailed, informative and super helpful! I started knowing very little and feeling very overwhelmed! It wasn't until after I watched a ten-minute video of him building a website and me able to follow along with the majority of the steps, that I realized I didn't feel overwhelmed at all! This course is great for women just getting into coding to see if you like the process!
It's been a great experience! The videos and homework match nicely and Matt is an effective coach to guide and inspire along the way. I'm looking forward to the next series!

I won't say this round of SheCodes was easy but it is definitely satisfying at the end! Getting to see an app work, that you built and understand how it works, is really exciting. I can't wait to share what I learned and keep tinkering around with APIs.

I'm not going to lie, I was very worried when I signed up for this workshop that I would not be able to catch on and overall was very intimidated that I'd gotten in way over my head. To my relief and surprise, the modules were easy to comprehend and follow along with! Matt really explains everything so well. It boosted my confidence when it came time to do the challenges and I was even motivated to do additional research and pursue this more. I'm so glad I invested in this workshop.

SheCodes is a great beginners course!
Overall, it was very informative, but I mistakenly thought this was an at-your-own-pace course and didn't realize there were actual course deadlines! This would make it harder to recommend in my friend circles, because most of us at the moment have very erratic schedules and so committing to deadlines is difficult. However, the pace at which it moves is really excellent for a beginner, because it allowed me not to get to overwhelmed and to take tasks one step at a time.
I truly enjoyed this program! I am excited to continue on to the intermediate and advanced portions!
The course was easy to follow and not too hard to understand each concept. It took quite some time to fully apply the concept of each element into real coding. In my experience, I only took the very beginner course and I already had to do more research in order to get to the right code. Would definitely recommend SheCodes for women who are interested in a new experience that could lead to a new career path.
