The online workshop is a great introduction for first-time coders. I have previously tried going the self-taught path and found this course to be so much more helpful. The lessons and videos are easy to follow, especially if you are more of a visual learner. It's been a great stepping stone experience and I look forward to continuing my education in coding!

I overall had a great time completing this course! Everything is easy to understand. The content in the videos is explained very thoroughly, but even if you don't completely understand something, there are people who are more than happy to help you. I loved learning HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, and even though this course only taught the basics, I feel that I can already do so much with what I've learned. I'd definitely recommend this course to a friend!

I loved these last 3 weeks. I had previous knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS before joining SheCodes, but this was the most hands on I have been with a class. It was exactly what I was looking for, and it was awesome! The video courses, challenges, and homework were so much fun to do - and I'm ending this first workshop with more confidence, and a better understanding of the basics of coding! Can't wait to code more!
The beginners workshop is well laid out and easy to follow. I love what I am learning and can't wait to move on to SheCodes Plus.
I came into SheCodes workshop knowing without any knowledge of html, css and javascript. I really enjoyed these pass 3 weeks. I feel like I learned a lot and I just want to learn more.I really liked the videos and all the help that is offered during the workshops. I took this workshop to see if coding is something I could do and thanks to SheCodes, I know now that I can make a career change in the direction I want.

I was very skeptical about choosing a coding course to enroll in especially one online because I wasn't sure if it was trustworthy. But I decided to take a chance and invest in myself and I'm so grateful I did! This course is very accessible and the intimidation I felt of not being able to understand the material was completely dissolved after the first lesson. You're not given hours long lectures but are immediately given a wealth of knowledge and the tools to be on your way. Thank you Matt!

I love how the classes were divided, allowing each lesson to build on the fundamentals you are continually learning. I only knew enough coding "to be dangerous" before this course -- learning with purpose and direction was perfect to really make the concepts stick. I am so much more confident in my ability to create and troubleshoot!
The structure of the course flowed well and was incredibly digestible and comprehensive for a beginner. Worth every penny and then some. Matt is an excellent instructor. I would highly recommend this course.

This was my first class in 6 years so I was definitely worried I would struggle, but Matt made it so that I was actually relaxed and able to ENJOY myself while learning a completely new skill. This course gave me confidence and hope for a new career. I cannot wait to continue to the longest workshop. π₯° Also, I work full-time and part-time, and I was still able to make it work. If you're even thinking about it, just commit!
Good for beginners
I've learned about html and css in the past but this workshop really helped bring it all together. It was also a perfect introduction to javascript. Its motivating and fun to see what you can create after just a few hours!
Matt is an excellent teacher. I found the coursework layout easy to process. The approach is (IMHO) the best way to learn anything: 1. Here is the demo. 2. Do it. 3. Review and see what you need to focus on more. I'm thrilled to be moving on to SheCodes+ and after I have finished React, I will be hitting the job market, ready for for a new career! Thanks Matt!

I've learned that there are no barriers to learning. This experience challenged me to explore something new. I'm an undergraduate Biological Sciences student with the University of Maryland, College Park. With zero background in coding, my curiosity drove me to take this course during my winter break in a pandemic. The SheCodes 3 week workshop was just right for a beginner like me. I learned more than I expected while having fun π. Thank you!
I knew nothing about coding before taking this workshop, but the way it is set up is not intimidating at all! You can go at your own pace, and there is very little stress/pressure. It is all about learning the material. I feel so much more confident because of it, and I would highly recommend it.

I took this class to look into whether coding was something that would interest me. I loved the self-paced timeline of the program. I also really enjoyed that each homework assignment left you with a bit of a challenge that you were not taught, so you had to do some experimenting/digging to figure it out! Excited for what is next!
I never could have imagined that I would have learned how to start coding in such a fast and intuitive fashion. I'm thrilled with my personal development over this course and I'm looking forward to continuing my coding journey in the Plus workshop!
This workshop helped to de-mystify the coding world for me! I feel empowered and like a true badass having been able to work through the homework assignments and the final project.

SheCodes is just awesome for learning how to code. Practice coding is followed by videos. And then comes the weekly assignments. The teaching method in the videos is great!! It forces you to practice. And practicing or coding is the key to learn to code.
This course rocks! Matt breaks down the concepts and makes it so simple to learn. Each lesson builds on the next at an easy to digest pace with practical hands-on challenges along to way to help cement the learning.
Wow SheCodes Plus was a lot to take in but totally worth it in the end! I enjoyed working on my weather app from start to finish and totally happy with how it turned out! Thank you to the whole SheCodes team for this experience and help along the way. Looking forward to React now:)

I walked in with zero experience coding and I thoroughly enjoyed the introductory course! I appreciated the numerous opportunities to practice and the community of other coders if I ever got stuck on a challenge. I was easily able to balance the workshop with my full-time job.

I previously worked as a Digital Advertising Specialist for a media company in Washington DC. This is where I was first introduced to the coding world. I have advanced experience in HTML & CSS but, I knew I had only dipped my toes in the water. This was the moment I knew I wanted to pursue a career in programming (web developer/web design/frontend developer). I can say that the SheCodes Beginner Workshop taught me a lot. I now have a solid understanding of HTML, CSS & JavaScript. Iβm excited to further my knowledge by taking the SheCodes Plus & React courses. I started with absolutely zero coding experience and was unsure if computer programming was for me. This has been an incredible journey. I joined this course with a basic understanding of coding and within 6 weeks I am able to showcase a functioning weather application. With the help of SheCodes, I was able to gain hands-on-experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, GitHub, Netlify, and a host of other coding resources that made this project possible. Though this course was nothing short of challenging, I find that at the end of it all these skills will be invaluable in my career development and next level choices. What an excellent accomplishment to begin 2021.
Being curious about the world of coding, I enrolled in the introductory course by SheCodes. The fun challenge led me to realize the intricate development of the 'web' as we know it and forced my mind to engage with technology in new ways as I developed skills.
SheCodes has been a great experience! I just completed the Workshop and am very excited to continue on in the Plus curriculum. I had very little experience in HTML and no experience in CSS or JavaScript when I registered for SheCodes, and now I feel confident in all three! Also, having a platform made up of all women has been super supportive & encouraging especially with tech being a male-dominant industry. If you're looking for a career change, or just want to learn more about coding, there's a workshop for all learners!

This course was so much fun! Matt does a fantastic job of explaining everything in each lesson. I love that sometimes there are things in the challenge that he didn't discuss, so that I can explore websites that will fill in any blanks.
As a UX Designer, having a basic understanding of HTML/CSS and javascript can make the hand-off of designs from designer to developer much smoother when we can speak the same language. This course has helped me understand how a developer might break down my designs and translate it into code as well as the functions of each element in the code.
Having no background in coding and found SheCodes to be easy to follow along with. I just completed the 3 week course, and I would recommend this to anyone interested in testing the waters.
I'm an artist and graphic designer. While looking into extra credit courses available to add to my diploma, I came across SheCodes. I have always wondered if coding was something I would be good at or enjoy. I'm proud to say I now have experience in coding. I, myself, created an online webpage using the coding skills and techniques I learned through SheCodes. As a graphic designer, I now have more insight into how visual and physical design interact and create webpages, websites, and more. Having this background knowledge adds to my value as a graphic designer and artist.
I would highly recommend this course for any women interested in coding! The courses are easy to follow along with, and I like being able to go back and review the material.

Googling certain things outside of the lesson felt necessary for a few of the assignments, but I think that's part of the learning process. Happy with how my final project came out. This is a great lesson for anyone wanting to jump in to coding.
SheCodes workshop has been amazing and insightful. The challenge given after a lesson was my favorite part as it helped me understand the process a lot quicker. Learning HTML, CSS, and Java in a span of 3 weeks was definitely worth the time and effort spent!
SheCodes is amazing! I have always been hesitant to learn how to code, but this program makes it a lot easier. I never had to worry about struggling to find a solution, because there are plenty of instructions and resources provided. Everyone is also super nice, and there is always somebody available to answer your questions. Now, I am finally confident to say that I both understand and enjoy coding.

This course has been a great opportunity for me to better design and communicate with developers. I am a digital marketer and website designer. This has helped me to be so much more involved in the process and help my layouts work better for the needs of my clients.
The structure of the program really allowed me to process and implement each learning. I had some issues sticking with the timeline but they were very understanding and still allowed me to complete the program past the deadlines. Overall the way the classes were taught and logic explained, allowed me to build a strong foundation to pursue coding further! Highly recommend and looking forward to taking the Plus course next.

Just based on this first workshop, this workshop is a little too easy. Most of the information can be obtained through other resources, especially Google, and the comments towards the assignments are not helpful. On the two assignments that I submitted, the only comment I received was "Your solution is valid." Pros: -Can go through lessons at own pace (I was able to finish the three week course in one week) -Assignments are graded in a timely manner Cons: -Not much quality feedback
Glad I was able to learn from SheCodes. It has been such fun learning something new and being able to think differently. Can't wait to continue the journey :)

I've had some experience with HTML in the past, but this workshop really put it in a way that was very easy to understand. CSS and JavaScript were new to me, and I learned a lot within this first workshop. I'm really looking forward to learning even more with SheCodes+ and SheCodes React.

I had an interest in learning how to code but I thought it was going to be hard for me to learn. SheCodes made it easy to understand, and enjoyable to learn. I always felt like if I was stuck on something, help was right there. Matt explained each assignment/homework so that it wasn't difficult. He made everything do much easier to understand. I'm looking forward to using the skills I have gained from SheCodes!
I love that this program is mostly self paced. You do have deadlines to keep you on track but it is doable. Matt explains the material simply and easy to understand. Make sure to take notes during the videos to compare your work.
I was so hesitant about my computer skills in the beginning! With more practice though I was able to start coding and create my first project! I am excited to start next week's class. :)
I am glad that I decided to take this workshop. It's really cool how easy and fun the learning process was. But at the same time, we had complicated homework and projects. I only took three week's workshop, but it gave me an understanding of Front-End Development.
