I breezed through this class and the challenges made learning fun and rewarding. Matt's teaching style is very straightforward and easy to follow. I really liked that this class was self-paced because I could complete it on my own time.
Doing a project was a great way to learn and start developing something concrete on my own. I enjoyed the process of struggling, getting stuck sometimes especially with Javascript, and then finding ways to resolve a problem. Loved learning about APIs and the ease of using tools like Netlify and Github.
The SheCodes intro class was an amazing experience! Would recommend!
I loved the workshop! Matt does a great job in explaining the material and it's all well organized. I learned so much in the 3 weeks and was able to complete it even while working at my other job in the PT clinic. This was an excellent introductory course to HTML, CSS, and JavaScript! The lessons are easy to digest and well thought out so each week's skills are used in the next. At times, I would have appreciated more in depth explanations behind why a certain element should be used over another, but that's a lot to ask of a 3 week intro course.
Super fun and basic way to learn HTML, CSS, and javascript for the first time or to revisit after a few years! I had dabbled in them when I was younger and this was a great refresher and taught me some new techniques and tricks! I am now super excited to continue learning and trying new things with code!

If you're looking for a very, very basic and rudimentary understanding of coding languages, SheCodes is your go-to. However, if you're expecting an expert understanding or a deep dive under the hood with these languages, you won't find it here. Matt does a competent job introducing these languages but fails to provide deeper subject matter. In my opinion, not worth the time or money.
SheCodes is the best! I learned so much about coding than ever before! Matt's videos and solutions were easy to follow and were explained in detail. I appreciate this experience to have learned on this platform!
I have really enjoyed refreshing my skill set in html and css and have really surprised myself with learning Javascript, I never saw myself writing any Java and to my surprise I'm proud of myself, this is my first project ever where I coded some Java, thank you SheCodes for this opportunity! I was honestly a little nervous starting this workshop, but I was pleasantly surprised with how much I have learned. The lessons were easy to follow and although I got frustrated in the moment, I did enjoy the challenges because it was like solving a puzzle! This workshop really made me use my brain and I'm excited to enhance my new skills even further!

Great Introductory Course
I came in just wanting to be able to intelligently speak to my clients about HTML, CSS and Javascript when they are using our product, but came away with a love for design. Who would have thought coding could be this fun. The course makes it easy to follow and pick up. I never felt daunted by homework, but like I was doing a fun brain-teaser with each course. I have taken other coding classes and didn't help it stick quite like SheCodes.
SheCodes is a great tool to get a familiarization into coding. I feel like I now have a basic grasp on how code is used in everyday life. The examples and explanations can be complicated but easy enough to do in the time span they've allotted. I took the month long course to see if I liked it and as soon as I stop writing this, I'm going to sign up for the 3 month course.
This was a great experience. I always thought learning to code was going to be so complicated. Don't get me wrong it was definitely something I had to work at, but the way this coding workshop is set up, was very user friendly and makes learning code enjoyable. Going to continue honing my skills!

I've really enjoyed this introduction to coding and can't wait to learn more! Doing the project and seeing how, after just 3 weeks, I could grasp the concepts and make it into a website (albeit quite simple for now) was a really great experience.
SheCodes was a perfect way to start coding, it was explained in terms I could understand and still gave opportunity to research further for detailed information. 3 weeks was a perfect time frame to keep you relaxed yet still on your toes with getting assignments completed.

This was a really good crash course into coding for web development. Matt's explanations were very clear and understandable, and the homework tested what you learned throughout the lesson with just a bit of a challenge. Although I didn't need it in the end, it was really nice knowing I could post in Slack for help! Having learned just this much in a short amount of time has made me more motivated to keep learning on my own. π

Great 3 week course. Was able to grasp fundamentals of HTML, CSS, and Javascript through a mix of course videos, self-directed Internet researching, and the course discussion board on Slack.com. A great way to find out if you have the aptitude or interest, before investing in a longer, more expensive course.

I joined SheCodes to make a career change from being a teacher. After searching through many coding programs, SheCodes was the one that offered flexibility and a great learning community. As my first official intro to coding, the SheCodes Workshop was a great experience. It's not easy navigating this new space as a designer, but it really helped me understand the process, language, and workflow of my fellow developers. I hope to learn much more in future workshops.

SheCodes is great because it can transform a complete beginner into someone who is starting to know their way around the world of coding. I took a basic computer coding class in college and had a hard time, but after a few years I wanted to give it another go. SheCodes was the perfect place for me to start and at a relatively low cost too! I am definitely going to consider the other workshops in the future.

Impress with how the courses are set. Also, obtaining help from my peers was a great thought. Everyone is friendly and helpful when you need it. When you need extensions for a homework or assignment, they don't ask for a reason. They'll just do it. Which, for me, it was great considering the country I live in hasn't recover from the global pandemic.
I love this course! Being a mom with a full time job I love being able to watch the videos and assignments at my own pace but still have a deadline when things need to be accomplished to help keep me on track. This workshop made me eager to learn more.

I have been in a support role in software companies for awhile but I have been so intimidated by learning code! I signed up for a SheCodes course and I absolutely love it! I work full time and I am a mom so time is a scarce commodity but I have found this course so enjoyable it is easy to make time. I can't believe how much I have enjoyed working through the lessons and homework. I would recommend this curriculum to anyone!
