As a single mother of 2 small children, I cannot rave enough about this workshop. For quite some time I had been wanting to do something different as a career that could really allow me to provide for my daughters. I've always been interested in STEM and with my background as a Science and Math teacher...I was so excited when the most beautiful Godsend appeared on my YouTube recommendation about SheCodes. At first I thought "What is this?" then I clicked and it was amazing to think that in a short clip I found myself wanting to join. I worried that as a single mom juggling kids, homeschool, and play time that there would be NO WAY I could do this and not fall behind but after back and forth emails with Matt I was reassured that I COULD DO IT and that was the moment I took the plunge. I attended the free workshop and as an artsy attention to detail kind of person, watching Matt really allowed me to see myself doing this and becoming passionate about it. I set out on a mission to start and finish and made sure to do so throughout the course of these 3 weeks and I can honestly say that I am so proud of all the knowledge I've gained, so proud of myself and being able to say that I didn't allow anything to stop me from working hard, completing challenges and submitting homework on time. I DID IT! All of the thanks goes out to Matt Delac and his team João, Daniela and the wonderful people on Slack who took time to help me when I got stuck. After sampling several different intro to coding courses, SheCodes really stood out as the most straightforward and easy to follow. The introduction workshop lived up to all of my expectations and more- I can't wait to begin the more advanced workshops next! Every week offers a new challenge to learn and adapt to the languages of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Its program is a flow into the next step, that way you create what was just learned. Smart feedback loop. I feel confident enough to move forward into the Plus and React programs. Another Big bonus is the community that we connect with on Slack to find solutions while participating in each lesson.
SheCodes was honestly more fun that I thought it would be! Matt's videos are easy to follow with bite size pieces of information and learning. I have always been interested in learning how to code and SheCodes makes it easy to approach a complex topic.
This was a really fun and easy way to understand the basics of coding! It's helpful to hear and learn why certain things are done the way they are, rather than just reading this information from a book or website and not understanding it on a deeper level. Looking forward to more courses with Matt!
SheCodes wasn't the first time I tried coding. But it was the first time I had fun coding. It was easy to into, great challenges. I'm going to continue learning thanks to this great intro!
This is the best course for absolute beginners. It's the only beginner class where I actually learned to code.

This workshop was awesome! I really enjoyed being able to expand my skills by learning React. I also liked being able to apply these skills to the already familiar project of the weather app. Having a community through the Slack was great in order to connect with others and ask questions.

SheCodes has become an outlet for me to learn and dive into the world of coding. After completing the SheCodes workshop, like many others, I was hooked! I continued on to SheCodes Plus which both challenged and humbled me but nonetheless made me want to keep pushing and learning. I am continuing my journey via SheCodes React and I'm excited and prepared for what's to come!!
I am a beginner to coding, and the videos were very easy to follow and understand. Matt is an amazing teacher and communicator. I learned so much the past 3 weeks, and I can't wait to grow and learn more.
I chose this class because of how Matt breaks down every little piece of information - it makes it so easy to learn and gives me confidence along the way! Everything was so clear and the lessons build on each other really well. This class showed me that coding doesn't have to be intimidating and confusing!

I learned so much in 3 weeks with SheCodes Workshop. Each lesson comes with a small challenge which ensures you're understanding the lesson. The small projects were a lot of fun and I can't wait for SheCodes Plus.

I never coded before so was nervous that this would go over my head but it was really easy to understand and I was able to learn a lot really quickly.
As expected, it was a lot of trial and error to get the project to look the way I wanted. I know it's not perfect (as I'm a novice), but I had a lot of fun with the project! I also like that Matt had the students seek answers on our own, just like we'll have to do in the real world. 😁
After watching the free coding sessions with Matt, I decided to take a chance and invest in myself. I have been wanting to learn coding for years. As a young mother of two boys, I understand the need to stay challenged and relevant in the work-force. Coding is the future and will continue to be in high demand. I want to do everything I can to stand out and continue to advance in my career path. Supporting my family is must! SheCodes is a program that I've been able to easily follow and grasp at my own pace. Not the mention the community and staff are super supportive. I feel like I'm finally able to move forward with my coding goals because of SheCodes. I took on the daunting task of learning new a new skill and changing careers and SheCodes made everything so much easier! It was overwhelming at first, but all the lessons are well detailed and organized. The support offered through Slack is super helpful and staff sends messages of support and breaks down the code to help you with problem solving. I had enrolled in separate webinars with information on how to break into the coding and development world, and I was happy to see that I was already well prepared and knew most of the material covered after just a few short weeks. no one ever told me how fun coding could be! ✨ it's challenging & frustrating but when you persevere with trial and error and error and error 😉 and finally get your result, wow, better than chocolate!
I really enjoyed this workshop and learning about React! SheCodes Plus was definitely a challenge for me, so transitioning into React felt like a breeze (at first), but I know there is still so much more to learn! If there's one thing I would want more of, it would be: more explanation on *why* things work the way they do. The video content is all super helpful especially watching Matt problem solve on the spot, as they come up. Whenever I ran into issues, I was thankful to have Slack as a resource, but I do wish I knew how to troubleshoot for myself a little better. I know that will come with more practice though, and I'm grateful to have gotten the basics down in this course and working on my final project! 🥳
Great intro to Coding!
I've learned so much from Matt in this coding program. It has really pushed me to further my education. All of his employees are kind and want women all over the world to succeed in tech. I am very proud of the page I created and happy with all I've learned in the course.
The thought of coding never crossed my mind, but this workshop felt welcoming and I was comfortable with being uncomfortable. It was surprisingly rewarding. I would absolutely recommend this program to others!
I needed a career change after years of being a Teacher, and dealing with the pandemic. I did meet with some challenges but, slack is there to help; so don't get discouraged. Overall I loved the class and hope to go further with tech in the future. I highly recommend this class, and plan on taking more SheCodes classes soon. Thanks Matt!!

I really enjoyed this class. I could step through the course at my own pace, and I thought the material was challenging and fun. The way the challenges and coursework are set up make it very easy to get help, find resources, and learn from your mistakes.

This workshop has been amazing! The videos are short but packed with info. The slack group is extremely helpful, and the projects are fun. You are taught real-life coding skills as well as pushed to learn things on your own to practice.

SheCodes has been very engaging and user-friendly. I find the challenges rigorous enough to push me to learn without making it daunting. The solution videos are helpful for being able to check how optimal my solution is immediately, while it's still in the forefront of my mind. The Slack channel is incredibly helpful for troubleshooting things that I'm unable to Google, with quick response time. You get out of this program what you put into it, so if you're motivated and consistent, you'll learn a lot!

Loved how this program was formatted! The lessons were flexible and I liked how after each lesson there was a challenge and a homework to be completed so that I was actually using what I learned. Learned a lot with the beginner's package and cannot wait to upgrade to the next one.

I have never ever considered a career in tech but with everything that's been going on with the economy, I wanted to learn some new skills, skills that are in high demand. I came across the SheCodes a few times and even signed up to the webinar a few times without attending. Yup... I know. I finally decided to give it a try and at least listen to the free intro course. While I was watching Matt code, I said to myself, " I can do that!" So I finally decided to take the 3 week course. I found myself surprising drawn to the lessons and I found the challenges, though frustrating at times, almost like a strategy game. I like this coding thing and so I'm deciding to pursue the React Plus training program to keep this momentum going. I thought that Matt was a great teacher. I did like that he challenged us to do some research on our own in order to complete some of the challenges because it's just real life. I feel that I will be empowered to be able to find solutions on my own if I need to. When I couldn't figure it out however, I was always able to find help through Slack. Invaluable! I would recommend this program to anyone interested in something challenging and surprisingly fun.
