I really enjoyed the SheCodes Workshop. The instruction videos, challenges, and solutions work really well for someone like me who wants to work at their own pace. I can't wait to start SheCodes Plus and React!
Very good. Whilst I appreciate that React is comprehensive and this course certainly teaches you a lot, and I'm sure certainly covers the basics, there were many times during the development of the App through the teaching that other aspects of React were alluded to but were not fully covered or explained. I only wish these were elaborated upon. Otherwise, a fantastic course with a great online support team and brilliant intructional videos made by Matt.
Loved every moment of SheCodes, from the introduction to React! Would highly recommend to anyone looking to familiarize themselves with coding, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React. The videos and guide-throughs are very clear and concise with help from an amazing team.

This workshop is an amazing introduction to the coding world! Before starting, I would not have known where to begin. I found that the videos were easy to follow and had a good flow of information. I really enjoyed this course overall! I'm definitely excited to move on to the second workshop 😊
Matt's videos are clear and the Slack channel is helpful when I get stuck. I was SO amazed at what we were able to do with the weather API. I now see such a cool range of possibilities for Javascript and I can't wait to go on to React!
Really loved this course (as well as the previous two)! I really liked it, sometimes it was hard to understand what was going on, so i learned more in the solution videos than the learn video.
I loved working on this project since it gave us the needed tools to integrate real-time information using an API. After creating this project, I have learned a lot in JavaScript. Before I looked through the Vanilla JS videos, I had googled how to increment days in JavaScript which gave me more information as to how JavaScript's internal dates work. This has been a great challenge to complete!
SheCodes 3-week workshop exceeded my expectations. It is extremely well planned and engaging. The quality of the videos, the great interactive challenges and homework, made the material easy to follow and retain. A great new skill that I decided to learn during a quarantine has become something I'm looking forward to increasing my knowledge in and seeing how far it can take me.........Definitely recommended 👍🏾👍🏾
SheCodes was a fantastic way of learning coding for anyone of any skill sets. I loved how collaborative and supportive the program was. The shift between watching videos and actively coding was so helpful and effective. I can't wait to take my next SheCodes workshop soon!
I needed/wanted an intro to coding and this was a great way to dive in! It always sounded so intimidating, and now I have some experience, I have a great appreciation for the engineers I know! The videos were easy to follow, and I loved doing it on my own time.
Challenging but fun! Though it's online learning, I always managed to get the help I needed if I was stuck on something. I never thought I would be able to create my own weather app! The lessons were in bitesized videos so it's easy to digest and can go back if I needed to refer back to anything. Thanks SheCodes team, I can't wait to learn more!
SheCodes was a terrific way to introduce me to the world of coding. The videos made it so easy to follow along and the assignments were very manageable. I felt like I learned so much about HTML, CSS, and JavaScript within just a couple weeks!

SheCodes is AMAZING! I've been majoring in Computer Science for over a year now, and I've been recently interested in front-end development and learning a few new languages. The workshops were the perfect place for me to get started over winter break! Matt takes things step-by-step and zooms in to explain the nitty gritty of the code. He neither makes it too long and superfluous nor too vague; it is just the right amount of explanation! In addition, you have this whole team of women around the world standing with you as a united force learning these new coding languages -- all of which are there at your disposal to help guide you and learn with you through Slack chat. Professional help is also available-- and they truly do help with whatever question or trouble you may have! (This is a unique twist from undergraduate help in college... ahaha.) Videos can be fast-forwarded 30 seconds or rewound for 30 seconds. You can always go back to previous lessons. The best part? A review of the video and significant concepts are left underneath each video. I have never encountered such a helpful platform to help me get started. Matt flawlessly lets us grow wings throughout the lessons as well so that we can find outside coding help and experiment for when we won't have a helpful guide in our future coding adventures. I recommend SheCodes to any woman interested in learning front-end development (website-building) or coding in general. What are you waiting for?
Brilliant start to coding. The videos are so easy to follow along and I think Matt describes the content and instructions really well. You learn a lot over 3 weeks and the frequent challenges really help to cement that knowledge.

I`m happy I joined SheCodes. SheCodes taught me a lot about CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. The videos are easily understandable and this course was more accessible than anything I've used before (and I've tried my fair share). I loved the projects and coding has finally started to make sense!
SheCodes taught me a lot about the fundamental pillars of code such as CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. I have been struggling to learn code on my own, but with this workshop it made complete sense! The videos were easy to follow, homework assignments were challenging, and the final project gave us creative freedom. I'll definitely be registering for SheCodes React later this year. 👾 If you're hesitant or debating between SheCodes and another workshop, I highly recommend SheCodes! It was more like a game where you had to "beat each level" before advancing. I'm a visual learner and the way Matt explained everything was perfect. SheCodes was a great way to learn an introductory to coding. The 3-week college-class style format helped keep me on track and on-schedule with each lesson and the videos and projects made me practice each skill at a time and in easily digestible chunks. Overall, it was a fun and easy way to learn coding for the first time.
I found all of the videos easy to follow and the exercises challenging without being frustrating. I appreciated how I could go at my own pace and the support that was available on Slack. I work with developers every day, and while I always knew what they do is difficult, this workshop helped me understand on a deeper level just how difficult their work is. I'm thankful to this workshop for not only giving me introductory programming skills and knowledge but also allowing me to better understand and appreciate my colleagues and their work.
The SheCodes Beginner Workshop was an amazing experience! I didn't expect beforehand that I'm able to learn so much about coding within such a limited amount of time! Quick course and the self-pacing was great. I was able to complete the course in a week. This is definitely a course for BEGINNER coders. If you have any coding experience, you will likely feel as though this course moves slowly (many of the videos were review for me). As a teacher, I was disappointed to find when I wanted to complete more advanced coding in my homework and I told to hold off and instead register for one of the more advanced courses and wait to try it then. It made me feel as though the instructor's help was not really helpful and I was passed off for wanting to try to complete some of the work shown in an advanced video.
So far very good! There is so many different online choices but this makes a difference: workshop way of working (with homework, deadline and homeworks to submit) and possibility to have support from the SheCode team if you have some issues (kind of mentoring on demand). Continue offer great product & service! Small future suggestion: as some videos were done in the past, update new info/changes eg. What is the difference between JavaScript 6 and the newest one.
SheCodes is wonderful! The videos are clear, well structured, and organized. It's also an asynchronous class - you can learn and work on your homeworks/projects whenever convenient for you. I finished the three-week coding class in a week and was surprised by how much knowledge I gained already! I'm excited to unfold what the next class has for me. Highly recommended!
A great course for beginners definitely worth it. I loved the fact that the curriculum is divided in several short videos and after each video you get to apply what you have learned in the challenge and afterwards combine everything you have learned in the homework and finally in the final project. A great introduction to coding - I have learnt so much these past few weeks. Really enjoyable and the videos were easy to follow. I expected more teaching in the third week rather than just the project, but a great experience overall! I would definitely recommend.
The lesson videos were clear and concise. Teaching was very structured, allowing me to practise what I learn through the small challenges and homework so it didn't feel too difficult and gave me confidence one step at a time to progress until the project at the end of the course.
This was my first time trying to learn how to code and I really enjoyed and understood the instructions Matt presented. I really benefitted from the Slack community that SheCodes provides. The videos and challenges Matt provided were very helpful. I am excited to continue onto the next workshop.

Simple, straightforward, and effective! Learning by doing make things stick much better than by passively watching videos, and things were broken down into manageable chunks. I found myself enjoying things so much that I pushed ahead of schedule!
I'd recommend 'SheCodes' to individuals who are busy with a day job yet are still keen to pick up coding skills to stay relevant in this increasingly digital-focused world. Each module in this course comes in bite-sized videos and challenges, allowing beginners to cope with the learning process with ease, i.e. they are not too overwhelming and can be completed by mini-milestones. The weekly assignments' deadlines motivate students not to lose their momentum in this course and rest assured, students are not alone in this journey. The 'SheCodes' team will review the homework submitted, and students can reach out to other coders via Slack for help.
I was always interested in learning how to code, but never thought that I would get the chance. When I first came upon a SheCodes ad, I was immediately intrigued; and when my employer asked me to attend further training during my short-term work, I jumped at the opportunity – and never regretted it. Being totally absorbed in the learning videos and corresponding challenges, hours pass without me realising it. I immensely enjoy putting what I just learned into action and can’t believe how far I’ve already come in such a short period of time. Coding can be challenging, but it is also a lot of fun and extremely rewarding. If you are unsure whether you should sign up for one of the workshops, do it! I'm sure you won't be disappointed! 😉
I really enjoyed the SheCodes workshops! I enrolled to refresh my web development knowledge, as I haven't touched it in 5 years, and wound up getting a proper grasp on some things that I'd used previously used but hadn't really understood. The videos explain things quite well, the bite-sized exercises and homework really help reinforce the learnings, and completing the final project really brings a sense of achievement.
The videos are very well explained, liked a lot the tips and the time to explain deeper some things that I didn´ t understand before this course. Really appreciate the good job on the course tool.

Coding has never been easier and more fun to learn. Simple, self-paced, micro bites of fun videos with hands-on homework make learning html, css, and java script a fun ride. Proud to say that 2020 made me a SheCodes student, and even more proud for having built the very first version of my personal Happiness Life Coaching website - which will hopefully, in the meantime, help lots of girls to boost their happiness and unlock their potential!
SheCodes course is really well-structured and has a very pragmatic approach. In few weeks you get the basis of HTML, CSS and Java and can start building your webpage with professional tools. The videos are short and simple, and straight after each video you have a challenge or an issue to solve and at the end of it you can learn and play with a project you build from scratch. For the whole duration of the course you join the community on Slack, where you can get advice from peers or tech experts. The course developed by Matt definitely went beyond by expectations!

I feel like I have learned so much over these couple of weeks! The videos were incredibly helpful and thorough.
The final course in the series, SheCodes React, was definitely challenging but also fun to complete. Matt's instruction makes learning React easy to understand, and encourages problem solving as the videos won't address every issue in the real world application of the code. Definitely a great learning experience!

I found the course interesting, and really easy to follow along with. I like that the videos are short but really filled with information, and you can revisit them any time you need to.
Learning with SheCodes has been a great experience. I’ve learned a lot more than I expected and have a really great insight into the world of React. Matt’s instructional videos are clear and structured well, I found them easy to follow despite finding some of the coding slightly challenging. João has been awesome helping me debug my code too. I also feel confident knowing that there are multiple ways to code and that not every resource online is going to be useful for me. I’m looking forward to learning more!
The workshops at SheCodes were super easy to follow for a complete beginner! The way Matt explains how each element functions to create a webpage is comprehendible and the videos are short enough that you can fit them within your work schedule. The challenges were interesting and really give you the hands on experience needed for truly grasping the concepts learned.
This was worth every minute of my free time, to be able to do it myself and then experiment to learn from my own mistakes! I joined the free class and I loved it! It seemed to be built in a more accessible way than other programs. I found that I was able to truly gain a solid coding foundation with SheCodes! Matt’s instruction had documentation, videos and we had all the support needed by using Slack where we could get all of our questions answered. If I had to go back in time and the opportunity to choose from a course to learn to code I would not hesitate in choosing SheCodes again. Both Matt and the team deserve recognition for their great work in creating this course!

I went from knowing literally nothing about coding to being able to create a basic webpage. Everything is very well explained and you are also encouraged to Google things and find solutions on your own which is great for learning. I liked that you could refer back tot he previous videos and lessons at any time. I can't wait to start the next workshop!
This one was really tough... I almost give up because of a few issues (mostly personal) and also I got confused with the last week's videos.... but thanks to Joao I kept going... He was really hopeful
This course is amazing! The videos are easy to follow along and work through but still challenging enough for you to test your own abilities as you learn. The Slack group with other students in it is super helpful when you get stuck staring at your code not sure why it's not working. Another set of eyes can help find those small typos or even offer advice on what you are missing or doing incorrectly.
I love this coding workshop! The videos and lessons are clear and easy to understand. I really like how it is setup. We learn a little bit, then practice, then apply everything learned that week in a larger homework. Then at the end of the course we applied everything we learned into a project. I liked that we got to decide what we wanted to do for the project.

Very well explained videos and useful homeworks. I also appreciate that you are able to push back some deadlines.
Who would have thought that learning the basics of HTML, CSS and Java Script would be so easy and such fun! Granted, there were a few details that it took me a bit of time to get a hang of and in other cases trial and error technique was necessary, but all in all it was a great experience. It did take me more than five hours a week to complete the lessons and homework, though. My average time spent per week was about eight to nine hours. Matt has a great way of making you understand the functionality of coding with humor and creativity. Even though you don't learn in a group the videos make you feel as part of a community. On slack you can get all the help you need from SheCodes employees and other students, giving you the secure feeling that there is always someone there to help if you get stuck. Summa summarum: It was a great experience and I learned a lot in a very short time. Having a better understanding of all the work and functions behind even the simplest website really changed my perspective on my user experience online.

So happy I found this course. I have been interested in coding for a few years now, and what better time to learn than a pandemic. I think the hardest part of starting any new skill is not knowing where to begin. SheCodes makes it easy. You receive deadlines, easy submission portals, hands on tutors (and other students), as well as easy to follow along videos. As stated, deadlines are given and encouraged, but because of the pandemic I found myself slipping behind, which was no problem as you're able to submit your work when you can. I also found the fact that the courses are broken up into 3 sections (beginner, moderate, advanced), to help with those who want a beginners course, or are seriously considering SheCodes for a career. I've tried other online courses (such as code academy) but they didn't offer the detail and personalized help that SheCodes provides). I can't wait to continue this skill through the more detailed and longer courses and highly recommend this website to others!
Easy steps to follow and to understand, but a bit more work might have been done on creating these videos.
I had already a bit theoretical background but a while back and so I wanted to use this workshop as kind of kick-off to improve my developing skills. I am really amazed how simple the things are if Matt has explained them. Everything was highly understandable and easy to imitate. I am happy that i discovered SheCodes for starting again to code and I am thankful for all the videos and challenges. The workshops made that I want more of it and i really want to continue.
I really enjoyed this little course, I learned a lot more than I thought and especially it has given me a greater interest in coding. I like how the course is divided into short videos and challenges so it makes it very achievement oriented and keeps you motivated, the time frame is very realistic and the community is lovely. Oh and I love sheCodes Radio!!! I listen to it all the time now, even outside of sheCodes, especially the 'energy station', it is the perfect playlist to work with. I can't wait to do the plus react course in the future!
I had no basic knowledge of coding when I first started, but I've always been interested in learning how to code. Taking online courses can be very hard, especially having to sit and watch a long video; SheCodes is well structured and the videos are clear and easy to understand. Matt is a great teacher; I thought it would be close to impossible to learn the basic concepts of coding online but now I know that it's actually possible.
I've thoroughly enjoyed this workshop - Matt's teaching style is super clear and being able to play the videos on demand or rewind to parts you want to see again is really helpful. I had a little HTML knowledge from a long time ago, this workshop has really helped me refresh that and learn a lot of new things too. I would recommend it even if you know a little HTML/CSS as you will learn a lot more throughout the course.
This was my first course on Application development, the ability to learn with Matt and review the videos, facilitated a great way to move at my own pace. I would recommend this for anyone who want to learn application development.
It's incredible how much I've learned in such a short amount of time and at my own pace. As a visual learner, being able to go back and rewatch videos or look at source code was extremely helpful.
I loved the experience of going from just some basic HTML knowledge to being able to build a pretty good looking page with some interactivity in under three weeks! The videos are clear and the challenges make the lesson stick. I also love that you can pace yourself however you want as you move through the videos.
I recommend SheCodes coding course for beginners to anyone who wants to get started with programming or just to get some basic knowledge about htms, css & javascript. The structure of the course was captivating. I liked that the instructional videos were short and specific, and were followed by tasks about what was learned in the videos. At the end of each week there was a more complex homework, that required a little longer focus and putting together what was learned throughout the week. Learning was fun & exciting, like a game :) Thanks!

React App is a little difficult to understand and navigate through but everyone has been extremely helpful. The videos walk you through 99% of the basics needed and rest, just ask on slack and someone will always be there to help you out when you get stuck. It was a little frustrating but overall, a great experience! I would love to learn back-end development from them if it ever comes out!

I found SheCodes React very challenging. But with the help of the SheCodes instructional videos and numerous online forums, I was able to make the Weather App using React. I highly recommend SheCodes.
I found SheCodes Plus to be a great course. It's a similar set out to SheCodes Workshop, just with a bit more content! Thanks so much again to Matt for the brilliant, straight-to-the-point videos that continue to inspire me to learn more, and to Joao and Daniella for their amazingly consistent support on the Slack chat.
It was a very difficult and challenging time, but the SheCodes Plus Workshop course pushed me more than ever before to keep going and to not give up in my coding journey. In several weeks I was able to learn so much more about vanilla JavaScript with the supportive team at SheCodes than I could ever have done learning just by myself. Even though my final weather app project is quite basic, I tried my hardest and best with what I could manage now, and again I'm so very glad and thankful I didn't give up. I especially love the fact that we will always have access to course materials, videos, and the Slack group even after graduating the workshop, so I am going to look over the course again and again to solidify my knowledge. I look forward to improving my skills greatly in the next workshop (SheCodes Plus React)!
I really liked the short videos in which Matt explains and demonstrates how to implement CSS or write JavaScript. All material is summarized in a way I was able to understand also more complex code. I will recommend the workshop to my friends!

It was helpful to be able to go back to the videos to understand how to do each exercise and homework. In the first week of the workshop I was frazzled with understanding the concepts.
