I really enjoyed the three weeks course and found it a great introduction to the world of coding, which seemed so alien to me before starting. I really like the format of the course, with instruction videos and challenges so that you get to practice the new skill you just learnt. I also appreciated how I could go at my own pace but still had the incentive of a deadline for the homework each week. Having the slack community was also great. Knowing that you are learning together with others can be very motivating.
I am so glad that I have joined SheCodes! In just 3 weeks I went from knowing NOTHING to building a simple website π€©. At first, I was a bit hesitant about the teaching format, but Matt is absolutely brilliant at explaining things. You can watch videos whenever you like and rewatch them as many times as you want which is great if you are juggling a job and/or college work with the course like myself. Matt was an articulate instructor and very talented at translating scripts into easily digestible concepts. I was able to reinforce my understanding of coding basics quickly--I had not had to write any code in over ten years, and re-learned everything in three weeks, as promised. The coursework was fun and comprehensive, and the videos made it easy to rewatch if I missed anything.

I have always wanted to learn to code but didnt know where to start, I had previously watched youtube videos and read online resources but found that none of them started right at the beginning. I really enjoyed these courses and the satisfaction of learning something new and being able to see my skills develop through the projects

I have really enjoyed learning all new things over the last three weeks. Would defiantly recommend this for anyone looking to learn the basics on coding. This basic course was a good way to get a better understanding of what coding is really about. I really like watching the bite sized videos done by Matt followed by a challenge to test my new found knowledge.
I like the lively presentation - no edited to perfection kind of videos. That helps a lot. Also, rework what is in the video makes it easier to understand where you go wrong if it does not work in your version.
I didn't think I would be able to complete the course, or at least not very well, but the way it is instructed by Matt, and the allowance to take it all in you own time, in small or large chunks is very helpful! The videos make it easy to go back to something you learned before if you get stuck, and the online support system on Slack is amazing. I feel much more confident and better equipped now that I have completed the course! I plan to take more courses with SheCodes now and gain a better future! Thank you so much <3

I'll be honest: I was intimidated by the idea of learning to code for quite some time. I thought that because I am a clinician and work in healthcare, there would be no way that this would click with my background and skills. However, I was super surprised by how much fun I had doing this course! All of the lessons were very easy to absorb without feeling overwhelmed, and I loved that there were so many different ways for me to go back and review different concepts if I was stuck (e.g., videos, examples/models, support from staff, Slack). If any other women in my life ask about where to start with coding, I will be sure to refer them here.
The pace and examples in this workshop were well-thought-out and clearly demonstrated the goals for each lesson. Written summaries of the content were helpful in looking back and reviewing quickly without having to re-watch videos, and the workflow overall made for a really positive and supportive experience!
I have loved completing the first part of the SheCodes course and have learnt more than I thought I would. The way in which you learn by watching videos and then putting into practice what you learn after each section is so easy to follow and really helps you pick things up.
This class was a great introduction to the world of coding and served as a sampler for me without committing before I was sure I wanted to explore this field. The videos were digestible, the homework helped cement the foundations of the coding languages we explored and the project was challenging enough to keep me engaged until the end.
I'd learned some extremely basic HTML through my job, but coding always kind of intimidated me. I came across SheCodes and am so glad I signed up! Feeling like wonder woman after having coded my own website from scratch. This was a great intro into responsive web-design, would highly recommend to anyone considering looking to further polish their HTML/CSS skills. The videos were great and very detailed and not only cover coding skills but go into some of the more practical details as well. So you not only learn how to write the actual code but you learn how to think like a coder/developer. Excited to continue my journey with SheCodes React.
I started programming as a side task in my previous job to build some basic applications in Google App Script to automatize some processes. I discovered that I liked coding and that the job of developer would enable me to have a more flexible lifestyle than I used to have. After trying to learn coding on my own via free courses and YouTube videos, I realised it would be more efficient to have a better structure of learning with deadlines, challenges, projects but also flexibility, which is why I registered to SheCodes. Even though I had already some basic knowledge of HTML and CSS, this course was clearer than any of the other content I had already learnt from and helped me understand better what I was doing. I would like to stress that you DO NOT NEED to have any experience in coding to register for SheCodes. The courses are very structured and the fact that you apply what you learnt right away in some small challenges helps absorbing the information.
I enjoyed the course and have gained a much better understanding of coding. I think the average estimated hours given for the 3 week course were quite inaccurate for me and it was much more time consuming than I was prepared for it to be. Whilst the videos are good, they are not always very clear and seemed to deliberately leave things out as a challenge. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I personally felt the slack channel wasn't a very fast or reliable method of support and so these regular gaps of information became frustrating at times. We are also encouraged to search Google for help, but the issue there is that many sites were discussing coding terms and techniques we hadn't learned so any methods suggested for certain issues didn't seem like viable options. Overall, I think it's a good course and I enjoyed it, but would advise anyone doing it with no prior coding knowledge to ensure they have time to dedicate to it.
I truly enjoyed SheCodes Basics! It was a great way to see if this was something I wanted to pursue and it definitely is. The videos made learning fun and easy, I cannot wait to continue my coding journey.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience in this workshop. It was very informative and I learned a lot. When I didn't understand something, I was able to seek help through Slack chat. And then tip for incoming students, it is more difficult for you to binge all the videos and assignments in one day in comparison to other workshops like the Basics Workshop. Of course, you should take notes especially if you aren't spreading the workload in the way where you get to practice everyday. And yes, I do recommend this course.

I had zero knowledge in coding but had always been very interested. Since I'm in Law it's not usual to have access to any kind of class that would help me get to know this area better but now I can say that I at least know the basics and would be very much interested in continuing with other SheCodes workshops ! This course taught me the basics of coding well and opened up a new world to me. I did SheCodes Plus immediately afterwards and enjoyed both courses a lot. In general the videos provided a good explanation of what was expected and the (sometimes much needed;) support on Slack was great as well.
I had never before tried coding and was quite scared this workshop would be too difficult for me. It turned out to be a very pleasant experience where not only I learned a lot, I also had fun while doing so thanks to the easy-to-follow videos that explain everything perfectly.

Learning code as a total beginner from scratch to proper skills, just one website comes to my mind : SheCodes.io. Lessons, videos, vocabulary, projects, help and feedback from live-support and so on, everything is provided in order to get the best skills.
I really enjoyed learning about coding with this course! Everything was explained so clearly with such great videos. Each challenge was definitely a "challenge" but Matt taught everything in such a way that I was fully prepared to tackle anything. I also really appreciated the support provided on slack and to feel connected to a community. I am really considering enrolling in the SheCodes Pro!!

Started from SheCodes Basics to React, by far this was the most challenging course. No doubt the learning curve for React was steep, at times the new concepts and functions were hard to grasp. However, Matt's videos always made easier to comprehend. I can't believe that I was able to build 2 React apps within 8 weeks! Looking forward to what's coming next

I've learned A LOT during this course, the step-by-step videos are so easy to follow which makes it easy for anyone to understand! I had a lot of fun putting the final project together as I really understood what I was doing. There's still a lot left to learn, but I for sure understand the basics now.

Great for having some structure and deadlines to hold yourself to while you learn how to code. The amount of material is also very achievable to get through when you are limited on extra time to commit to learning (approx. 5 hours / week compared to 10+ hours with other programs). I also like the nice mix of bite size videos and exercises to get hands on practice with the concepts. Best way to start out my mornings learning new skills.
Matt's videos are very instructive so we can easily follow them. The best part is I didn't even notice that I was working on the challenges and homework, because to me I was just having a lot of fun. I also loved the self-paced learning, which may be challenging at times but with discipline and passion, any dedicated student can do it.
Highly recommend SheCodes for those who want to learn coding but have trouble finding time. I like how the lesson is broken down into topics with short videos and exercises to practice.
An excellent workshop! SheCodes taught me HTML, CSS and JavaScript in 3 weeks from scratch, and the instructor Mathieu produced very clear and easy to follow videos. The learning-by doing approach means that for each new skill learnt, I was able to practice with a challenge. Whenever I got stuck, there was always someone to help. Would recommend to everyone who wants to get ahead in tech :)
The class videos were easy to follow, and the challenges plus weekly homework were just the right amount to practice and retain the learned material. This gives me a solid foundation to learning more complex coding. I'm very glad I joined the class!

I enjoy spending time watching the teaching videos and completing the exercises. By doing the exercise daily, you will soon realise that coding is not as hard as you imagine! The course is suitable for those who don't have any coding background because Matt will teach you step by step.
SheCodes was a terrific experience. A week ago, I had ZERO coding experience, and I just finished building my first webpage using HTML, CSS, and Javascript. SheCodes Basics is a great intro to coding. The format is terrific. You have short videos followed by immediate application of the skills you just learned. I highly recommend this program to anyone interested in coding.
I took this course because I am a UX Designer and wanted to get into the brain of a developer, so that I can work with them better on projects. It's funny because I use design programs on a daily basis, and now I know what REALLY goes into something as simple a centered text, colors, buttons, content, and and even simple shapes. I had a great time using SheCodes! Matt is an excellent teacher who goes through every step, but also surprises me with something new which gave me opportunity to learn something on my own. I love the accountability aspect of the program with due dates for your homework. This forced me to keep going because I find that I work best when there's some sort of deadline or pressure. The courses don't take too much time out of your week, and it's taught in a way that allows you to retain the information well. The Slack channel is AWESOME. I got stuck on my code for the final project and JoΓ£o was very quick to help me out by pointing out where my code was going wrong. That final assignment WHEW! It was tricky because my design brain wanted to make it look flashy, so I rewatched the last few videos, went over old code from homework, and went online. Now I have something to show for my portfolio! I can't wait to continue by Shecode's journey as I advance into SheCodes Plus and Responsive!
It is very easy to follow and understand his videos. I learnt the basics of coding in concise yet very clear and informative videos, which I will definitely continue with when I have more time. A very good source to use if you are new to coding and you are not sure where to start! The mini challenges and assignments cements your knowledge too.
3 weeks back I didnβt know anything about coding, while today I am coding for about 3 hours continuously without sensing the passage of time! I greatly appreciated Matt and SheCodes team for giving me the opportunity of learning to code. I am not at an advanced level of English, but everything was stated very clearly and I had no problem with videos or descriptions.
When I started out with SheCodes, I was cautiously optimistic that I would be able to learn how to create and design websites remotely; without having a classroom setting for problem-solving and assistance. The combination of the videos and Slack, as well as the provided resources, have given me the confidence to continue learning and hopefully turn this hobby into something more.
I had some struggles throughout this course but I was always able to find my way around! All of that thanks to all the videos and resources we are offered. It is also great to be able to check out what others have done, so you can learn different methods and better analyse your own. I am still impressed at how much I have gotten into coding! Throughout SheCodes journey I learn that coding is actually really fun and as long as I put the time to practice I can do it. I always felt like coding has always been fascinating for me as I knew some programmers, but I never thought I could do it. Then during the pandemic I had some extra time on my hands and wanted to learn different things, and I'm so glad that I found SheCodes, the videos and challenges are so helpful in learning how to code!

I learned programming many years ago, only I was never very motivated to learn as a teenager. So I actually forgot everything. Through my job in product marketing in a tech company, I realized that it would be fun to go in that direction again, and with SheCodes I can do that now. I find it great to meet like-minded women and exchange ideas with them. The presentation of the videos and the possibility to ask questions in the chat is great.

I really enjoyed attending this workshop and learned a lot from the videos and by working on the challenges and the project. In the end, I was able to build my portfolio, which might require some editing but I am really happy with the results.
This course really teaches you how to create a web page from scratch. It has several small tutorial videos that walk you through the basics of coding, and they even check your homework. What's more, Matt gives you insights on how real devs work and tips on how you can keep learning on your own. I'm so happy that I took it and hope to apply it to my job somehow. The workshop is conducted at an easy to follow pace, especially for beginners. The videos are done in short segments making it easy to do a bit at a time and you don't get bored following the lessons; the instruction and the activity are engaging and hold your attention really well. The challenges in between help with recall and retention because you get hands on experience.

It was definitely a fun and challenging class. I really like that you can watch the videos from home and do it on your own time table which is really convenient when you have to work full time and have other responsibilities. I really liked the messaging platform for help on homework and challenges as well so that you have a community to help you and you don't have to just struggle on your own. I'm not sure if coding is for me yet but if I decide it is I will definitely be back for the more advanced courses as they are very educational and at a very reasonable price!

The structure of the workshop is very clear, and every progression is done step by step. Everything you learn is useful for the final project. Matt provides simple explanations in the videos, so everyone can understand, not matter their background. The challenge after each lesson really help to understand how to actually use what you just learnt. The community is very supportive and helpful when you struggle to move on during your workshop. I highly recommend it! I learned so much by following the steps in sequence on how to create a basic website. It was so much fun to watch and learn. Everything makes sense to me by watching Matt in the videos. I admit that I had some difficulty in grasping the programming concepts when I took a programming course many years ago. Now, I finally got it after watching and following Matt. And yet, I am surprised that I still remember it like yesterday.
