This progam helped me learn a lot of basics of coding. Each video was really helpful and I think that this project was really exciting. Every detail was explained in the videos which is very helpful for a beginner like me!
I love the accountability which the weekly program offers, this means that I was more likely to stay committed. Another factor I enjoy is the fact you can easily revisit and rewatch videos, the support from Slack is super helpful and accessible. Matt teaches in a clear and playful way which makes the sessions enjoyable. I enjoy the focus on playing around with colour and design.

I have just completed my week 1-3 I have been enjoying SheCodes a lot. I have learnt so many amazing things in just my first few weeks. I really enjoyed the course, first week was the most difficult one. But the more I learned, the more interested I became. The videos give clear explanations and guidance. Especially useful I found Athena AI.
My interest in coding began in late 2022, whilst I was in my third year of University. I realised that I had little passion for my major and wanted to find something new that would spark passion within me. I had thought about going back to university after I graduated to study an MBA or something in finance. But, 2022 was a year of exploration and self discovery for me, I had met a lot of friends within the tech industry, who suggested I look into coding and that coding was a great field for women. So, I did just that. I began my research and saw an overwhelming amount of different positions within the tech industry. Immediately, I was drawn to the idea of cybersecurity and began to do a course on that on freeCodeCamp but it was overwhelmingly difficult and frustrating. I gave up as quickly as I had began. Then, I return after I had written my final year exams and went back to my research, I looked for advice from the large online coding community and everyone had advised to start with web development, as it was the foundation of understanding coding and breaking into the industry. So, I started again, watching Youtube videos, following along with them as they began to code, and at first, it was overwhelming but it made a lot more sense this time since I was taking baby steps. I spent a month being self taught, assimilating the different markup languages, wanting to perfect them before I added Javascript to my roster. I went on Tiktok and found my community in 'Black women in Tech-tok', that's when I came across SheCodes for the first time. I always knew I was a learner that needed a roadmap with structure, so I knew I would thrive in an online school or course, so I knew SheCodes would be for me. I had a stable enough understanding of HTML and CSS and SheCodes helped me begin to understand the ropes of Javascript and I'm excited to learn more, know more and grow with SheCodes. This is only the beginning of my journey with our amazing instructor Matt and the SheCodes team.

That was an interesting course for learning the basics, with having no coding background I liked the setting and the presentations. Sometimes, I felt overwhelmed by the amount of content, but actually it is not a big deal. You get help through Slack and Athena Al are terrific helpers; Athena Al walks through more details. I cannot believe how Matt makes it so easy to learn how to code, the multiple challenges and interactive videos make it easy for us to follow and implement what we learn as we go. My confidence in my abilities went from zero to almost 100% when it came to applying the concepts taught. I would recommend this course to all women around the world it is truly worth it.
I am a stay at home mom and I was scrolling tik tok one night when I came across a video for She Codes. I am not computer or tech savvy at all. However I found it interesting and decided to watch the free 60 minute coding session. After that I started the She Codes Basic and I LOVED IT!!! The whole set up was great. I loved the short videos they were so easy to follow, and challenges were so fun. I am excited to start another workshop!!!
I really enjoyed this course! I had a little knowledge about html and css before I started, but it all makes so much more sense now. The videos were well structured and well paced and I enjoyed working on all the challenges. Can't wait to start the next course with SheCodes :-)
This 3 weeks of coding have been fun! The classes and videos were very easy to understand. As a beginner with no knowledge about HTML, CSS or Java Script, I was able to build my first landing page. I learned a lot in SheCodes Plus! It's so satisfying being able to put everything together to create an app. Things really started to click while completing Plus. Some things I struggled with, but I always knew I'd have a way to figure out the answer either through the resources, videos with Matt, or in the slack groups. I really enjoy the structure SheCodes provides. I'm feeling more and more confident.

As a designer with an education in UI/UX and strong interest in front-end development, SheCodes Basic and Plus were valuable resources on my journey towards refreshing my knowledge of HTML/CSS and Git, as well as picking up new ones in JS, APIs, and more. The lessons were clear and concise, and I liked that the platform allowed me to view and review the SheCodes videos, notes, and other recourses at my own pace. The community is also inspiring, warm, and diverse. I enjoyed connected with a handful of SheCodes alumni as well as fellow students over LinkedIn over the past months. With the help of Matt and the SheCodes community, I feel supported and engaged in my journey towards a career in combined UI/UX and front-end development. I'm also excited to continue working on this project and alongside new ones, in the upcoming weeks!

I was very nervous about learning how to code, but I am honestly surprised that I really enjoyed learning the different coding languages. I would highly recommend this intro to coding! After several free videos on Youtube I finally decided to go for a little more structure and I am happy with that desicion.
A friend of mine mentioned SheCodes during a conversation about skills, so I did the free class, which I enjoyed a lot, and signed up for the basics course right away. However, at the same time, I changed jobs. As I was very busy in the transition period, I kept postponing the deadline. I was afraid I would never meet the deadlines while working full time job and other having other hobbies. 2023 came and so a new resolution: stop postponing SheCodesBasics! And I'm so glad I finally did the course! It turns out it was easier and more manageable than I thought!!! The fact that is broken down in small topics with short videos helps you to manage your time (I think it also helped that I got a bit addicted π). Thank you Matt and SheCodes Team!
The SheCodes classes are a good way to get started. I think the react class is the most difficult one. It was interesting but in my opinion the other classes are enough if you just want to get to know coding. I think some videos need to be updated but generally I would recommend all the classes I took here!

I'm a developer already, but enjoy passing the basic courses. I believe even if you know everything, there is always sth you forgot or don't know, so I've learned a lot from the basic course. The SheCodes website, its tools, and learning videos are great. I'm really looking forward to joining the next workshop.

I had zero knowledge of any languages covered in the basics program. It was simple enough to follow along with the videos, and I really liked having a challenge right after the explanation video to test what was just covered. It helped me to learn it on my own, and I now feel a lot more confident for the next workshop!

This work shop has been a challenging one. Starting with how to start using React and deploying it, and then to changing a bit of the ways you code. I had to keep reminding myself of when we are using React and when to use JSX. Luckily the videos and the SheCodes staff through Slack has been a life saver! I recommend the work shops because of the helpful explanations on why the codes work this way and not that way, and the homework and challenges will keep you on track.
Simple and digestible! This workshop was an excellent choice to begin learning the fundamentals. I liked how brief the videos were. I also liked how each video ended with a challenge to put what I had just learned into practice. I feel like the basics workshopΒ has given me a solid foundation in CSS/HTML/JavaScript that I can build on with the help of other workshops and Googling. The lecturer is also excellent at explaining things, and if you ever get stuck on something, the Slack group is extremely helpful.
The instructional videos from SheCodes are incredibly clear, and the content is structured for easy learning. It is broken down appropriately, and also follows a logical sequence. I really enjoyed SheCodes Basic and plan to continue onto the next course!

Studying coding with SheCodes has been a fantastic experience for me. I just started two weeks ago and knew nothing about coding. After two weeks I am delighted to say that I confidently have learned the basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. These classes are full of fun, intrigue, and sometimes intensity. I mean intensity, positively. The pre-recorded lessons are excellent. However, video recordings alone are not enough to convey information. Hence, in order to learn faster, you need to listen attentively, take notes, and practice rewriting codes repeatedly. In spite of the fact that I only asked one question and found the solution before receiving a reply from the team. There is no doubt in my mind that the SheCodes team is awesome. Their support is always available to students, and students can count on them at any time. Prior to enrolling in the course, I had a lot of doubts about whether I should invest money in SheCodes. As a result of taking the classes covered in the first three weeks, I can say without a doubt that this has been the most valuable investment I have ever made. In addition to that, I also had concerns about payment and wrote an email to Matt elaborating on this topic. Upon receiving a response, I was offered a discount and the option of making monthly payments, which was very comforting for me. As a side note, I'd like to mention that I was neither paid nor pressured to write this testimony. It was entirely my wish to do so. (My motivation for writing this sentence is because I found some upsetting YouTube videos that were misrepresenting the SheCodes course)! Thank you, SheCodes for creating such an incredible course. Interesting introduction to coding, I appreciated the short videos followed by challenges and the structure of the workshop (with deadlines, homework, the project) which helped to stay motivated and focused.
Great way to get your feet wet in html, CSS, and Javascript. The videos are easy to follow and understand. Like with most things, you get out of it what you put in. I think to understand code and build a strong foundation, you need to be coding every day.
I have throughly enjoyed doing my projects with SheCodes. The videos are great and easy to understand, the challenges are a good way to learn the skills taught in the video. The help through slack has been very helpful too.

SheCodes basics was a good way to revise the few things I had learned here and there with HTML, CSS, and Javascript. It solidified my basics and I learned new things too. I completed the Basics course about a year ago and through simply reviewing the videos and following along with the code I had already built, it was super easy to jump into this Add-On course. You learn new content that builds on the content from the Basics course that isn't super overwhelming and Matt does a great job breaking down each line of code, step by step so that you are able to follow along while manipulating your own code. can't wait to start my next course!

Honestly, this course was amazing! I learned so much in such a short period of time! I loved how for a few of the challenges I had to go do some research myself! The entire experience was wonderful. I was able to apply what I had learned to the challenges, and when I ran into problems, I would refer back to the videos. If I still couldn't figure out the problem, the question had probably already been asked on Slack, which was very useful. I also appreciated how quickly they provided feedback on the homework and pointed out your errors. The feedback, as well as having other students inquire what I was struggling with, made the experience less frightening and increased my interest.

Round 3 of SheCodes workshops was as informative, interesting and entertaining as the first. I was able to use many of the HTML and CSS techniques we learned in Basics and Plus. I really enjoyed the creative freedom we got for this portfolio project. Though there were some moments of confusion and stress with my code, I was able to pull through with the help of Matt's lecture videos and the slack chats of fellow SheCodes students. I am really happy with my project and I can't wait to start on SheCodes React and Add-on projects.

For someone with 0 coding background, SheCodes Basics taught me how to build a website from scratch using HTML, CSS and Javascript! The videos are easy to follow as well, Matt explained very well a lot of fundamental theories and why certain steps need to be followed. I can understand the instructions 99% of the time. I look forward to continuing further with coding, especially web development.
I decided to do a career change and start my software developing journey with sheCodes. I liked in was focused on women learning how to code. The structure of the course was very easy to follow. The work itself was challenging, but having the opportunity to revisit the lessons and videos as many times as I needed it helped me understand HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I took both, sheCodes basic and sheCodes plus and i find myself very confident with my coding journey after a couple months. There is more to learn to eventually get a job, but this is a solid start point.

I started coding with Mr. Matt. I totally started from scratch and I am delighted to see my metamorphosis in me after 6+ months of coding. Never have I ever imagined that I could continue my coding journey especially after my post-partum. The videos are short and covers everything to become a Frond-end Developer. I am also over the moon because I did something which I have always wanted to do. I had a flair for technology. I know its just a drop in the ocean but still its from the ocean.
