Having completed the SheCodes Basics program, I was initially apprehensive about whether I would be able to keep up with the curriculum as it involved a new programming language (Javascript). However, from day one, Matt's lessons were comprehensive, the community was supportive. As I said in the previous testimonial I gave on completing the Basics, what I appreciated most about the SheCodes was the emphasis on hands-on, project-based learning. Instead of just reading about coding concepts in a textbook or watching lectures, we were actually coding from day one. Not only did this help solidify the concepts we were learning, but it also made the learning process more enjoyable and engaging. It's undeniable that there were hard times but going through the videos and working on the weekly projects helped me get better at it. Overall, I cannot recommend SheCodes enough to anyone interested in pursuing a career in coding. The experience was challenging, rewarding, and ultimately life-changing. Thank you for everything!
What a fun course to complete! Matt's teaching style motivated me to wake up early and get started on the class right away. I love the short videos with the quick challenges to test what you've learned. Your knowledge and confidence keeps building up and before you know it, you've created an elegant webpage to be proud of. Looking forward to my next workshop with Matt!
There were so many things that I wished would have been different, that it would take me a really long time to mention them all. Most importantly: I really thing the videos should be revised. There are things that are outdated (like using clearfix) and no longer in use, tools that now have different versions (like bootstrap and netlify) which makes it harder to follow through the videos. But the lowest point is the lack of proper feedback on homework and (even more shocking for me) the final projects. It's "your solution works" kind of feedback. Personally, as someone who is learning to code, it's not *just* about the code working, I could really use feedback on how I could write it more clearly, etc. Otherwise I could just use an html/css/js validator and get pretty much the same answer. It's really a shame and I hope it changes in the future, because otherwise what's the difference between doing this or a full curse on udemy that costs 15β¬? One really wonders. Also bear in mind that unless you have nothing else going on in your life, 5 days a week is not enough to complete the week.
I really enjoyed the coding workshop. The videos were very clear and slack was so useful when I couldn't work out what was wrong in my code. SheCodes Basics is the perfect introduction into coding and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wonders what coding is about.
React was very complicated and difficult, but by watching the videos step by step helped me to understand and learn how to develop with it.
Good introduction to basic HTML, CSS and Javascript. Videos and challenges are presented in a user friendly way however I think the support provided is lacking. Feedback on the homework is pre-defined responses with no personalisation. Whilst the Slack is good to seek help or to help other students, when the SheCode's staff get involved, they merely just fix the code for students without helping them understand what was wrong. I understand the principle of people trying to troubleshoot their own code and figure things out but for beginners, I think support to lay the foundations is very important. You could find all the information covered in this course online for free but if you're looking for the structure (which I was) it's a good starting point - albeit expensive for what it is.
My SheCodes experience has been pleasant. I had no prior experience or knowledge about coding until completing this course. From watching the learning videos and completing the challenges I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge. It never felt like work, which made the challenges that much more interesting. I would definitely recommend!
I have really enjoyed learning something completely new and different from what I am used to. It is a whole lot of small wins for me when I get a piece of code to work by just applying a bit of focus and logical thinking, I celebrate. Matt's videos are easy to follow step by step. I didn't think I would make it this far but I am very happy and grateful that I did and I intend on going all the way to SheCodes Max as I intend on changing my entire career path.

This course is so well organized and Matt explains everything in a way that is easily understood. Unlike other courses there is always a fast way for me to solve any issue or problem I faced by reaching out on slack or going back to watch the videos. React! React!! React!!! I'm never using regular html and css for front end. React is so challenging and fun. All the videos in this workshop opened my eyes to a new world of front end development and I can't wait to develop my own personal projects with react. Learning react is very crucial for anyone who wants to work as a front end developer and Shecode's react course is great for learning it. It was a bit challenging but I could get answer to all my problems by watching videos and doing homework again. I enjoyed this course a lot like other Shecodes' courses and I am very thankful to our great instructor Dear Matt.

I decided to take on this course and it's been great. I used to do programming at my old job, however since I stopped being a software engineer. I noticed I started to slowly forget what I learnt. I took on this course to jog my memory and it helped a lot! I didn't notice how much I missed coding until I did this course. The teaching was fantastic from Matt, the videos along with the tasks to do were so fun. The SheCodes team was amazing and they made sure to answer any questions we had.
Time went so quickly whilst doing this course which can only mean one thing.....I LOVED IT!!!! I have always been curious as to how websites are made so when I saw this course I jumped at the chance to do it. Matt does a wonderful job at explaining everything with easy to follow videos and smart little challenges at the end of each section. My advice to everyone is to take lots and lots of notes! Overall a very informative, enjoyable course to do, very happy indeed.

I really loved this course. I tried the basic one to see whether indeed this was really my thing and turns I want more!! The way Matt explains the theory in his videos is super easy to follow and makes you feel you can accomplish anything ;)!
I have some issues focusing so this workshop might not be the best for me as Matt tends to make "mistakes" and change his mind quite often and since the videos are not edited (or not much), it can sometimes get really confusing and frustrating. It's good to see that even an experienced coder like Matt has to think and sometimes just do different things before getting it right, but when he summarizes everything, he can be quite messy using the wrong terms, when it's already a really complex and confusing matter. Apart from that, I still like how Matt is funny and engaging, how he guides you to complete the final project, the course is packed with info and the project is quite fun.
It was my first time and I was able to get through the lessons and the videos were clear and informative.
I am satisfied with Shecodes basic. The lesson videos are short, concise, and entirely understandable for beginners. The schedule is flexible as well and I have a chance of reviewing the previous lessons with the help of assignments. If we face some problems in coding, the SheCodes community is willing to help and solve them together which is really friendly and warm.
I recently completed the SheCodes Basics Add-On workshop, and I must say it was quite the journey. While I won't deny that it presented its fair share of challenges, I'm thrilled to share that with the help of the workshop's instructional videos, I was able to overcome them and experience a truly rewarding outcome.

The follow up and response on she codes is fantastic, the tutorial videos are helpful and the explanations are understandable The existence of Etna's coding guide, which is excellent in describing and explaining the code, this course was very wonderful for me.
I am in a middle of a career change and wanted to try coding to see if this was something I can do and most importantly want to do for a new path in my life. I was nervous at first about these courses being online, but SheCodes made it very easy to do and having the videos to go back and listen to Matt's instructions worked better then in-person classes. I loved it and found out I am not bad at coding! I am looking forward to learning more in the other advanced courses in SheCodes. Don't be scared to learn something new at any age. To be honest, this course was very difficult about to JavaScript lessons, it wasn't easy to understand and I needed a lot of help from the teachers and I also had to inform myself with other videos. I thought maybe I wouldn't be able to understand and that I should finish the course but I was wrong. To Anyone reading this review I want to say don't give up!

I enjoyed the course a lot. This one was a bit more challenging than others, but I did it well despite having a job. Matt is a great instructor and has clear pronunciation. The exercises keep everything interactive unless you're learning through videos. Taking these 4 level courses is just what you need if you don't have time all day. Plus the team is fully supportive and accessing the community in Slack is a huge bonus.

Really enjoyed the Basics course. Matt's videos are easy to understand and they're not too long. So, it's easy to suqeeze in some lessons after my normal work :) Working on the final project was great, seeing how finally everything came together and I created a whole page from scratch. It's pretty fun getting started with the SheCodes materials.

Enjoyed this course but a lot of tutorial videos would show you one thing and the challenge to follow would be something unrelated and not yet taught which was frustrating. Also, having to use codesandbox when the tutorial videos are shown in VS Code made it more difficult to learn.
I recently attended the SheCodes Basics workshop and I must say, it was a truly enlightening experience. Before doing the SheCodes Basic Workshop, I thought coding was way over my head. I had watched a few youtube videos and nothing seemed to make sense. It was like everyone was speaking a different language. But this workshop made everything so easy to understand. I felt a huge sense of accomplishment after just the first few lessons. This workshop was the hardest so far but after multiple attempts & reviews of videos, there was the lightbulb 'ah-ha!' moment when it all just clicked. Matt does a fantastic job of going through a concept, demonstrating and then re-running/explaining what he did. Redoing the weather app with React also allows us to see the different techniques that can be used to achieve similar results. Overall, this workshop is a great, thorough introduction to React!
