She Codes was an amazing start to coding. Fast-paced, but very rewarding, the weekend flew by as we shifted from HTML to Vanilla Javascript. By providing the tools and tips for further learning, networking, and optimism, the She Codes team and volunteers are truly an awesome bunch.

She Codes workshop was a surprise from the moment I came across the Facebook post announcing the event. It took me out of my comfort zone and made me realize coding can be fun if the right people lead you to the proper mindset.It was the first time I learned HTML, CSS and Javascript.After this eye-opening experience I now feel capable of exploring by myself and I know I can count on the mentor's support. Taking part in SheCodes 9.0 was one of the best experiences of my stay in Lisbon. She Codes workshop delivers on what it promises. I left the workshop with a beginners' idea of what coding can be, with the understanding of its potential and of what roads I could pursue if I want to get deeper into Coding. I came looking for tools to better communicate with the teams that carry out coding projects, and I got much more than that. Thank you She Codes :)
I decided that is time to change my career path and open the door to the tech world. While searching on how to begin this journey, I bumped into the She Codes workshop and was an incredible surprise: how much you learn and the amount of information that you absorve in just 2 days with an amazing team of teachers. I really liked the fact that is not just a theoric workshop, you really practice coding and for me is the best way to consolidate knowledge. β οΈGirls if you want to start coding this is a good way π
I always, especially in recent years, wanted to learn how to code and create and design my own websites (and in the future hopefully apps). She Codes helped me a lot in getting a step closer to my goal! I really enjoyed the workshop! Matt and the rest of the team really know how to teach understandable and they were open for all kinds of questions. Further, it was motivating to work in a group of "she coders to be" and get to know a lot of interesting people. I definitely plan to pursue and develop my newly acquired coding skills now and think about being a freelance coder/designer in the future (of course, after practicing much much more haha)!
I highly recommend She Codes to any women that wants to explore the area. SheCodes was the perfect opportunity for me to enter the world of coding. As a journalist and content producer I work a lot with the interfaces of websites, but what is going on behind was a mystery to me. Super happy with what I got out of this course and I would love to attend She Codes Plus. Whole team is great and I definitely recommend it to any woman that wants to understand how software works from the basis.
I tried to learn to code on my own but always felt demotivated quickly and failed miserably. With SheCodes I got the support I needed, the essential questions about front-end and back-end development clarified and a lot of exercises that were greatly beneficial because I could actually understand what I was doing. The course is fast-paced and intense if you are a complete beginner but you will get through! I recommend applying ASAP because this experience will change your life! After several attempts I came to the right place where I took the basic ideas to develop a more linear path. I had been told very good things about She Codes, yet it exceeded all my expectations! If you're new to coding, this is such a good way to get started. The course will give you a very good overview of how the Internet works, how different disciplines work together, and a very solid foundation if you want to keep learning. The course is fast paced and challenging, however there is always time to ask any doubts you may have, and we all helped each other. I have never imagine I could be able to code and understand the web in 3 weeks. Homework were so fun to do and it was definitely worth it to come every Saturday from Porto to learn and to have this unique experience of learning from the Matt and his team. What an energy!

It's impressive how much we managed to learn in such a short time! Sometimes I got lost, because of the overwhelming amount of information presented, but in the end, with the help of everyone, I was able to get there. The workshop opened my eyes a little bit more to what programming is, and I feel more confident to venture further into it. I signed up for SHE CODES hoping to understand the basics of coding and maybe start my one website from scratch β¦ but I left with much more. I learned how the internet works, some of the tools to do my own website, the 'where' to go to continue learning and improving my newest skills. Learned the basics of product management and to understand based on retrieved data what my clients want and what I can change. Not only was the workshop both inspiring and challenging but during the 3 days, I had the opportunity to network with 27 amazing women full of entrepreneurship ideas and dreams to make the difference. Matt and the rest of the team were great professors even talking about such complex themes. I would recommend this course to every woman I know that wants to understand more about coding.

The She Codes course was an excellent overview of all the different aspects of coding - front end, back end, and career paths in the industry. From what I learned in only 4 Saturdays I am able to make tweaks to my website and even have the confidence to try building one myself. Matt and the team are excellent teachers.

SheCodes was great opportunity and my first entry point to the world of coding. The workshop gave us precious insights into the basics of html, css and java script. But SheCodes wasnβt only about pure coding, Matt and his team created a great concept to combine the three fields of programming, product design and product management and teach us the basics of each. I have been a teacher for a long time but wanted to change my career to become a coder and this course gave me the perfect introduction and motivation I needed to start. The teachers are amazing at what they do, all very experienced and successful in their areas but most importantly they make the experience so much fun! I loved being a part of such a small and dedicated team, replete of inspiring women and actually looked forward to the early Saturday mornings, even on little sleep ;)) You will learn a lot but also make friends and share laughs. Lisbon just got a little bit better with SheCodes. : ))
