I recently completed my SheCodes basic workshop and the experience was worth all the hard work. Applying for SheCodes has been rewarding and challenging at the same time. With the help of the SheCodes team and Slack members, I managed to learn more about coding then I anticipated. I look forward to the next phase
I am delighted to share my experience with the Delac Foundation as a female biotechnologist who was fortunate enough to receive their workshop scholarship. From the moment I was accepted into the program, I knew that I was in for an incredible opportunity to expand my coding skills and network with other like-minded women in the tech industry. As someone with a background in biotechnology, I have always been fascinated by the intersection of science and technology. However, I had limited experience with coding and programming languages. The SheCodes workshop provided me with an invaluable introduction to coding languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Through hands-on projects and real-world examples, I was able to grasp the fundamentals of web development and design. One of the standout features of the workshop was the supportive community of women who were all striving to excel in the tech industry. The mentorship and guidance provided by the SheCodes team were invaluable in helping me navigate the challenges of learning a new skill set. I was able to connect with other women who shared similar interests and aspirations, and together, we were able to collaborate on projects and support each otherβs progress.
Thank you to Matt and the SheCodes team. The Python Advance course was able to take my skills further and understand how OOP works and how to use dictionaries and how to show data through Python using visualisation. I enjoyed my time learning these skills and hope to use them in the future.

With these few weeks of coding, i can boldly type code any where without using google chrome browser, this is a great achievement for me this year. I have learnt so many features like background image with line-gradient CSS, border-radius, margin, padding, border, transition, hover , eventListener, alert, prompt, changing event on clicking a button using javascript, lots more. The workshops are so interactive and easy to follow, even for somebody like me who is quite a beginner. The instructors are very patient, knowledgeable, and eager to help whenever You are moved on to the next step in each lesson, which doesn't make you feel overwhelmed. I also liked the fact that there were practical projects that allowed me to build on what i've learnt along the way, really putting into practice whatever is learnt. The sense of accomplishment and confidence I got when I completed my first project still remains. A collaborative atmosphere encourages one to learn from others and creates some kind of teamwork, which keeps one going.
This one was challenging, but I am grateful I had a supportive team behind me. the videos provided explained things very well and the team was always available for any questions i had.
React has been an extremely steep learning curve and has felt like the 'next step' in my coding career path. The exceptional support offered by the team at SheCodes has enabled me to become a more confident and resourceful developer, well-practised in troubleshooting, debugging and adhering to a strict workflow.

Learning Responsive was initially quiet challenging for me, but the the group made it easy for me. I was curious about coding while studying psychology, and thanks to the free 1-hour demo and Matt's ability to simplify complex concepts, I was inspired to sign up for the online workshop. Initially, I was scared to enroll, but the demo gave me the confidence to take the plunge. Although I had no prior coding experience, the workshop was a challenging yet rewarding journey. I was grateful for the quick response times from the SheCodes team on Slack and the flexibility to learn at my own pace. I'm very excited to start the Front End workshop soon!
I have enrolled to a few bootcamps before but could never complete them due to the fast paced learning and the lack of support from the teams. Being a part of SheCodes Alumni has proved to me that I can do this and that my transition into Tech was the best choice i could have made.
This was a great introduction to Python and nice insight to back-end Python. Matt broke everything down into small steps and repeated the most important codes at the end of the course to make it easier to understand.
