I've had an interest in coding for awhile but was scared to start because I thought it would be too difficult, but Matt is an excellent teacher and made all the lessons very simple and fun! I can't wait to use my coding knowledge in the future :)
Changing a career path and learning something brand new can be challenging. I was sceptic at first if coding was something for me and overwhelmed by the variety of schools and courses offering workshops to code. I found that ScheCodes has been a smart, available and fun workshop offering skilful and on-demand knowledge. Matt is an amazing teacher, he explains very well and gives students the freedom to explore coding. The ScheCodes team is very helpful and the possibility to interact, ask questions and learn from each other is great and gives me the confidence to continue. Definitely the most interesting workshop I have attended lately! SheCodes is a perfect introduction to coding and Matt is a great teacher. The lessons are easy to follow and well detailed and distributed. The challenges are interesting and this course was a real delight! Cannot wait to start the advanced module!

I loved this course! After the free class and the 3 weeks workshop, I was hooked on coding and decided to go for the 8 weeks workshop. Working on the weather project was definitely challenging and a bit frustrating sometimes but then when everything came all together it was really satisfying! A challenging workshop that I loved!! Matt's a wonderful teacher, the lessons, the amount of work was a great fit within my full time work shedule. It is a lot of work, but I found it enjoyable - even when it's frustrating - you get such a sense of pride and satifaction when you build something from start to finish. Such an amazing journey it's been for me, from learning the fundamentals of Web Dev, to Vanilla JS and now React. After so many frustrating and expensive online tutorials and courses, SheCodes was a breath of fresh air for someone with no coding background like me. Matt is a fantastic teacher, he really knows his stuff! Every workshop is well designed and a lot of thought was put into these. Concepts are conveyed with examples and described in a simple and easy fashion, so you don't feel overwhelmed. The lessons are super easy to follow, and homework and projects are great to put everything into practice by yourself. Couldn't recommend more!

I loved the course! I'll be honest, it was hard at first but at one point I found myself getting more and more excited about coding. Matt is a great teacher as he really explains why and how something works. It's almost as if he's sitting there right with you and showing you how it's done. When you get that 'Ahhaaa! moment and everything clicks, then you feel like you could rewrite the internet!! All jokes aside, I 100% do recommend this course to anyone that's interested in digging deeper and really developing some real coding skills.

I had a great time with this course and with Matt as the teacher. He does a great job breaking things down and using the right words to make terms easily understandable. The challenges assigned correlates with what we learned prior so being able to apply what I've learned on the challenges and project made me more comfortable with coding.

Joining SheCodes is one of the best decisions I've made in a long time, for myself. It has been really challenging and sometimes frustrating, but the SheCodes team really gives you all the tools and the support you need to succeed and it has been absolutely amazing. Matt is an incredible teacher and explains every step in a very good way and the weekly homeworks and challenges takes you to the goal step by step. It is also a nice atmosphere where it is okay to fail and try again, that is what learning new things is all about. I recomend SheCodes to anyone who want's to learn how to code!

When I finished my React workshop and worked on other coding projects I really felt like my responsive design needed some work, so I was thrilled when this workshop got introduced. This course is a fantastic intro to HTML, CSS and Javascript and Matt is a brilliant teacher! The lessons were enjoyable and challenging enough to keep things interesting without being stressful. I started the course without any knowledge of HTML and I'm amazed that I now feel comfortable understanding and creating basic HTML websites after just 3 weeks π

There's a lot of info crammed into a short amount of time but it's done in a manageable way so that my brain didn't hurt too bad! It's pretty cool how I was able to amalgamate all the lessons into a final project. I have even able to make the final project related to my work as an elementary teacher. The support when I needed it was excellent but I do strongly recommend researching bugs and questions on your own because lots of additional learning happens this way! I spent way more than 5 hours per week but maybe this is because I nerd-ed out more than necessary? As with any new learning, would have to keep up the practice in order to maintain all this new knowledge. Definitely recommend!
I really liked the format of the course, it is very easy to navigate. Moreover, I especially liked the practical part where you get to put in practice the skills obtained during the learning sessions. I think Mark does a great job as a teacher, he is very direct and does not make it look like difficult, just challenging which is exciting. I definitely recommend SheCodes to anyone who is looking for a new challenge and maybe a new path in their professional career!

I took this course to open up good coding logic and practice to move on to other languages. Overall this taster was great value for money and I learned a lot in 3 weeks, Matt is a great teacher and the short lessons and regular homework to apply your knowledge to are paced really well for a beginner. If I wanted to move into front end dev I would take the more advanced workshops in a hot minute!
This advanced course is really a challenge, yet Matt is a great teacher and all the team is always there to help you! The course wasn't easy, but with determination and consistency, you can learn how to code! After working in retail for many years, my husband and I were in a car accident that left him permanently disabled. When life deals a bad hand, there aren't a lot of options but to push harder or give up. I decided to push harder and changed careers. I needed something that could provide for us and our young son. But I didn't have a degree. So, I began pursuing IT certifications. I passed the A+ and landed a job at a Helpdesk. I've been there for about 18 months and am now pursuing a degree in Cyber Security. However, the leap from Helpdesk to Security is impossible without experience, certifications, and degrees. I started working with sites to learn ethical hacking, but they required coding experience, which I did not have -- dead end. While studying for the Security+, I saw an ad for SheCodes on YouTube. It sounded too good to be true, so I did some digging. Sure enough, it was legit and had awesome ratings! Then, I nervously asked my husband, "Do you mind if I pay for an online coding class that may or may be a scam??" haha And he said yes! That leads me to now! I just finished the final project and feel SO much more confident. I have programming classes required for my major, which I start next week, and now I'm prepared to take them on. I have even gone so far as to reach out and start networking with jobs in app development, system operations, and internal security. If there is someone out there who isn't sure, I would say this: Grab life by the reins and MAKE IT HAPPEN! SheCodes is a perfect place to start! Matt is an excellent teacher, and the structure is well laid out and very easy to learn. Go out there and get it, girl, because you deserve this!
I am extremely satisfied with this workshop! Coding can be very intimidating for absolute beginners but through Matt's great pedagogy and clarity (said from a teacher :p), short but efficient lessons, and regular practice, it is quite mind blowing what one can do within just three weeks of learning! All the new notions are broken down into single blocks of learning to grasp the essential meanings, demonstrated in videos with explanations and documentation too. We then get familiar with these new notions to finally apply them into various tasks. It is a very progressive and fun process. Thank you so much. I am very much looking forward to the next training!
This was such a great course for a newbie - Matt is a really good teacher and the videos were super informative and helpful. I loved the challenges at the end of each video to put into practice what we'd just been taught and found it easy to follow along. As a single mother of 2 small children, I cannot rave enough about this workshop. For quite some time I had been wanting to do something different as a career that could really allow me to provide for my daughters. I've always been interested in STEM and with my background as a Science and Math teacher...I was so excited when the most beautiful Godsend appeared on my YouTube recommendation about SheCodes. At first I thought "What is this?" then I clicked and it was amazing to think that in a short clip I found myself wanting to join. I worried that as a single mom juggling kids, homeschool, and play time that there would be NO WAY I could do this and not fall behind but after back and forth emails with Matt I was reassured that I COULD DO IT and that was the moment I took the plunge. I attended the free workshop and as an artsy attention to detail kind of person, watching Matt really allowed me to see myself doing this and becoming passionate about it. I set out on a mission to start and finish and made sure to do so throughout the course of these 3 weeks and I can honestly say that I am so proud of all the knowledge I've gained, so proud of myself and being able to say that I didn't allow anything to stop me from working hard, completing challenges and submitting homework on time. I would definitely recommend SheCodes. I didn't have any experience in coding, but yet with the instructional videos and information it was quite easy (and fun!) to complete the challenges. Matt is a good teacher, he has a good pace and his enthusiasm is pleasant to listen to and learn from. The first workshop has definitely sparked my interest in coding.

It is my first online Workshop and I am very much satisfied with the teaching methods, contents and all the support from the Slack team members. Of course Mr Matt is a great teacher, the lessons are short and to the point which never make me feel bored or lose my interest. After three weeks Workshop, I have learnt lots of basic coding knowledge and am very happy at end got my certificate.

Very good workshop. Great for from-scratch-beginners like me. The videos are easy to watch, Matt is a very good teacher, the recurring challenges make it easy to keep up with the learnings and the self-paced format makes it easy to balance with our day-to-day. Bear in mind that it is really beginners level, meaning, manage your expectations as you won't come out of the workshop as an autonomous coder, being able to "upload" your website or gather data from user interactions.
I needed a career change after years of being a Teacher, and dealing with the pandemic. I did meet with some challenges but, slack is there to help; so don't get discouraged. Overall I loved the class and hope to go further with tech in the future. I highly recommend this class, and plan on taking more SheCodes classes soon. Thanks Matt!!
This has been an amazing journey with SheCodes, going from someone with little-to-no coding knowledge, to someone that has been able to build weather applications in both vanilla JavaScript and React. I am very excited about the new Responsive course and look forward to continuing my coding journey even beyond the SheCodes courses. I have never ever considered a career in tech but with everything that's been going on with the economy, I wanted to learn some new skills, skills that are in high demand. I came across the SheCodes a few times and even signed up to the webinar a few times without attending. Yup... I know. I finally decided to give it a try and at least listen to the free intro course. While I was watching Matt code, I said to myself, " I can do that!" So I finally decided to take the 3 week course. I found myself surprising drawn to the lessons and I found the challenges, though frustrating at times, almost like a strategy game. I like this coding thing and so I'm deciding to pursue the React Plus training program to keep this momentum going. I thought that Matt was a great teacher. I did like that he challenged us to do some research on our own in order to complete some of the challenges because it's just real life. I feel that I will be empowered to be able to find solutions on my own if I need to. When I couldn't figure it out however, I was always able to find help through Slack. Invaluable! I would recommend this program to anyone interested in something challenging and surprisingly fun.

Trained as a neuroscientist and a biology teacher, I wasn't especially expecting to do code but it is so cool to get a sneak peak at all the possibilities of coding. SheCodes is really amazing, well-explained, nice-looking and interesting. Challenges and homeworks are well thought for a constant involvement throughout the program. The only downside of the SheCodes workshop is that you are so excited that you want to be an expert from the very start! ;D I would definitively recommend SheCodes to other girls. #girlpower in tech

Might be because I am a teacher however, I do believe the course could be better. It's nice to do things at your own pace but considering the fact that everyone is different, we should be given more options/techniques to do certain task. I felt like most of the time we were just expected to copy the one technique shown in that lesson, without being given a variety of options.
Matt Delac is a brilliant teacher, he explains each concept thoroughly with step by step instructions. These workshops are really for anyone, especially for beginners who require guidance. I struggled with JavaScript in the past, as a result of this course, I finally grasp the fundamentals.

I am so happy to have joined SheCodes Plus after finishing the workshop. I absolutely enjoyed it and I learnt so much. At times it was quite difficult but after all everything made sense to me and we got to create our own weather application that is fully functioning. Matt is a great teacher! SheCodes Plus is INCREDIBLE! My friends who are professionals can't believe how far I've come and how quickly I have learned how to code a website and an app. Matt Delac is a fantastic teacher and makes it feel very easy, as well as so much fun. I can't wait to experiment and explore my new found skills and collaborate with other coders on some exciting projects!
I really enjoyed SheCodes Workshop and I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn how to code from the beninning. I had doubts at first because I never coded in my life but Matt is an extraordinary teacher who is able to explain concepts in a very clear and easy way. It's been a formative, challenging and funny experience and I'm proud of all the things I've learned. I would definetely do it again.
I have really loved my SheCodes experience and have found the course extremely useful and a lot of fun! I have really appreciated being able to learn in my own time, at my own pace but with a target deadline at the end of every week. The flexibility has worked perfectly for me since I work full-time and the set deadlines have kept me motivated. The lessons are a good length and explained well. The practical challenges, homework and final assignments which follow these offer enough of a challenge to feel like you are learning something but not too difficult that you feel overwhelmed. The SheCodes platform has been very friendly and approachable to use and I have looked forward to every lesson and every challenge. It's very satisfying when you get it right! Many thanks to Matt whose videos have been very clear and easy to follow. He's a great teacher who explains things well and makes the whole experience fun. I'm looking forward to starting the Plus course now!
The SheCodes Plus workshop has been a great coding experience. I have learned so much about CSS, JS and much more. Matt has been a great teacher and explaining everything in detail. And if this wasn't enough, Joao was there to answer all our questions. The SheCodes community is very helpful and encouraging. I would highly recommend this workshop for everyone that is interested in learning how to code!
SheCodes is awesome! It is my second time around and I found it even more inspiring than the first time. Matt is an amazing teacher that makes coding simple and fun. I feel really empowered and excited to continue developing my coding skills. I would recommend this course to everyone!
Being able to learn HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with SheCodes has already improved my understanding of the coding world so much. I am a Software Development student and my program mostly focuses on Java and Python. I am so glad I found SheCodes and had the opportunity to learn these front-end development skills from someone like Matt. He is such a great teacher and I never thought I would enjoy it as much as I did. I am continuing on to the SheCodes+ and SheCodes React workshops too.
Thanks to SheCodes I feel like I've learnt so much in such a short space of time! Matt is an incredible teacher who really explains everything in a clear and concise way, and any time I ran into something I didn't quite understand, there was always someone on Slack to help understand! This is a course I really recommend anyone do if you're considering learning coding, it's so helpful!
It was a great workshop and I really enjoyed the time spent. It's quite challenging but a lot of fun and Matt is a great teacher so it is easy to follow along. I would recommend 100%!
