I would highly recommend SheCodes. Not only is Matt a great teacher, but the fact that money from the workshops goes to fund the Delac Foundation to support women around the world is a bonus. Until now I have struggled with coding, it never seemed to 'click' with me. After being laid off from work the week before Christmas I decided to do something to boost my hireability. I have always been so scared of coding, it looks so intense. SheCodes made coding not only fun but easy to understand. I found myself so excited to get to the next lesson and learn more. Matt does an amazing job explaining and breaking down all of the areas you need to code successfully. I do not think I have ever taken a course where the homework didn't feel like homework! With SheCodes the weekly homework assignments just added to the experience. The final project was so much fun to piece together. There were definitely moments I got stuck but Matt is an excellent teacher and prepares you with all of the tools you will need to hand in a successful project! I truly enjoyed the course in its entirety.

I must admit that I wasn't expecting this to be quite this fun. I joined for practical reasons: I am an artist and I need to be able to create and curate my own page independently so that's why I initially joined. Now I am already feeling very comfortable with coding and it's only been a few days! Matt is a very very clear teacher and the extra resources and extra readings only enrich my knowledge. I must however add that I do have some previous experience with coding-like languages given that I now have 4 years of experience writing in LateX and some university experience with instructing a 3D printer and other lab equipment. I would advise a complete beginner to take it easy. Still! Couldn't have been smoother.
SheCodes Plus was a fulfilling journey for me - racked my brains as I was introduced to API (the most exciting part), worked on advanced Javascript, pieced everything together, and built my very own weather app. Love the bite-sized videos and how Matt provided industry advice and tips in his capacity as a professional coder (on top of being a teacher).
SheCodes has been really a blessing to my learning journey. Matt is really a good teacher, breaks down concepts into bite sized chunks that do not make a student feel panicked. I used to feel like programming was only for a certain caliber of smart people and I used to think I was not smart enough for it. I am amazed at this program! I have coded in the past but mostly HTML + CSS with no JavaScript. This beginner course really solidified my passion for coding and web design. Matt is such a great teacher, the logic and the structure of the program made it so easy to learn the basics. All the lessons were just long enough to give you context and the challenged we're so well done. I enjoyed how some challenged added elements we hadn't learned into them, allowing us to learn in the wild and be more resourceful. Hello, I think taking Shecode workshop was defiantly a great decision. At first I was a little hesitant because Iβm a busy mom of two toddlers. I spent about 1-2 hrs per day on the lessons. Matt is at amazing teacher he really breaks down each lesson for easy understanding. This workshop was 3 weeks long and it covered the fundamentals . I would defiantly take more shecodes workshops.

A great, challenging course! Matt is an excellent teacher - the material was concise and easy to understand. I loved how well-structured the course is and the focus on practical/hands-on experience. It also helped that the course is self-paced and very flexible. It was fun building a webpage and learning in a supportive community. The Slack thread helped a lot. I don't think I would have had the motivation and guidance to learn coding by myself, so I highly recommend this course.
