Deciding to do another SheCodes workshop was a no brainer. After having completed SheCodes Plus I created my own website but then fell off the coding wagon. I enjoyed the SheCodes Basic workshop. Matt has a good way of explaining. He takes a bit of a bird's eye approach to explain the basics and gives you plenty of space to figure things out, learn, and experiment with your code. I definitely had fun while learning. I've been looking at many options for learning coding but could never decide where or how to start. I began self learning through books but always felt so stuck and confused and began to give up. I really wanted to work on a career change though, and I soon came across SheCodes. I have learned so much more in just 3 weeks than I could through self learning. Not only was it so easy to follow and learn, I was able to complete everything on top of a full time exhausting job and continue to have free time in my personal life. I am excited to progress onto SheCodes Plus and potentially more in the future.

Very easy to understand and follow along! I have a limited background in programming but with Matt's help, was able to learn the basics of web design. He's a great instructor and besides his videos, he also offers resources for you to use on your own projects. I definitely would recommend this to anyone who wants to get started in web design but has no idea where to start. All the students have access to a Slack as well where we can ask questions and receive help from the SheCodes staff or even each other. Learning something new doesn't feel so intimidating knowing that other students might be running into the same problems as you are. I just finished SheCodes Basics and can't wait to get started on SheCodes Plus!

Even though I learnt HTML and CSS basics during my studies about 10 years ago it was really good to start with SheCodes Basics! I learnt a lot and had fun! Yes, that's me with the grey hair. Not quite the oldest to enrol in SheCodes but getting close! I recommend this course to women of any age. Already I have more confidence in a web project I'm developing for a client. I've now enrolled in SheCodes Plus, because much to my surprise, I've enjoyed coding (as Matt promised!).
The course is well structured and easy to understand. It was a lot of fun. I am looking forward to learning more in SheCodes Plus.
What an eye-opening learning experience! I was never interested in coding because I was scared I would never understand it, but SheCodes Basics changed my mind, and now I'm hooked. The workshop was carefully structured, and the videos weren't too long or overwhelming, which is a plus for a beginner. Also, the lesson challenges were fun and excellent hands-on practice to retain the coding you learned. My word of advice for future students - don't feel defeated if your code is imperfect as there is no one-size-fits-all ๐. The workshop has an appealing structure. I work full time and thanks to the flexible schedule, I managed to meet the deadline. It was fun and challenging to work on the Final Project and now I look forward to the next workshops: SheCodes Plus and SheCodes React!

I really enjoyed the SheCodes basics workshop and will continue with the SheCodes Plus course! I wanted to learn to code for the longest time but none of the courses online appealed to me. Then I found SheCodes! I would highly recommend everybody that has interest in learning how to code to join the free coding class. The way the course is structured and explained (Matt is a GREAT teacher!!) is what convinced me, during the week you have exercises to do and you end the week with homework you have to send in. You learn by doing it yourself but you have a wonderful team and community to help you if when you are stuck! I also think that SheCodes have a great mission as a company, inspiring more women to enter the Tech industry!
After finishing SheCodes Plus I was not sure whether I should do SheCodes Responsive or SheCodes React first. I'm glad I decided to do SheCodes Responsive first to slow down and focus on the design aspect and learn more about optimizing sizing of pages for certain devices. I am excited and nervous to move on to SheCodes React but I am excited to update my portfolio with new projects!
