Learning React and building a weather application was a long and complex process that required significant effort and support. I learnt a lot of new techniques in CSS (e.g. how to declare a variable in css to use in multiple pages) and html - how to build multiple page websites and navigate different sections using links. The most interesting aspect of this workshop was learning how to make websites responsive (across different platforms) and making it search engine optimization (SEO) friendly on google. Building this weather app with React considerably refined my skills in web development. The Responsive lesson is the valuable lesson I've been waiting for; it teaches you to code websites that work for computer screens AND mobile devices. For the final project, we were to create a portfolio website. The site I created accomplishes the goals of the workshop and a little more, but I hope to use it to recreate my personal website instead of the site I have hosted on a web builder right now. I took inspiration from the teacher, my existing site, and other open-sourced projects from other students to create my project.
