I started out with little knowledge of HTML and an aspiration to learn more about HTML, CSS, & JavaScript. Can safely say that in the last month I've successfully learnt and retained more code than I ever thought I would! I've loved every minute of the SheCodes 'Intro to Coding' course, the layout of the workshops are fantastic, with bite-sized lessons that Matt explains very clearly. You're putting into practice what you've learnt every step of the way, so you're really getting a good understanding of what the main elements are and how the coding languages work together. I really enjoyed and had so much fun doing this workshop with Matt. I loved that the lessons were going step-by-step, it really helped to understand each element and their connection to one another. Also loved the challenges - although sometimes a bit frustrating, but was able to received help on Slack. Overall super experience, definitely would recommend!
If you are up for investing a good amount of time and energy to get familiar with coding, I recommend SheCodes Plus. Not everything is easy, but definitely worth-while.

I have wanted to learn to code for a long time but always felt it would be too hard as I am not from a tech background. After attending the free coding class I decided to do it and join the beginners workshop. The way Matt explains things makes it so accessible and less scary. The course has been really helpful. I like that it's step-by-step, interactive and with deadlines to meet. It's my first time studying in years, so maybe that's why I'm finding the 5-6 hours/week recommended time too little.

Earlier, I was not confident in building a webpage through HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I completed my project with some online help but was not sure about how everything was implemented. One day, I saw a couple of ads on Youtube and Facebook about SheCodes and just gave it a try. Today I just finished my project, and I can't explain in words that how confident I was. This has been a really fun workshop yet challenging, I didn't think I would ever be able to accomplish something like coding. I felt intimidated by all the lines of codes but this basics workshop was a great way to introduce a new concept to me. I highly recommend SheCodes for anybody working full-time or just have time on their hands and want to dip their toes in coding. I was able to complete tasks on my own time and the Slack community is so kind and encouraging! 10/10 I look forward to moving onto the next phase.

As a Psychologist, I never thought I would be coding or doing anything related to technology. I started this workshop out of curiosity and I can say now that I see myself growing in this capacity. This basics course exceeded my expectations on all fronts. Matt is a great teacher and the approachability of the material, community, support, and resources was key to my learning. It can feel a bit daunting to realize I do not learn as quickly as when I was in school full time, but I found things clicking along the way and making their way into my day to day vocabulary. I have shown my work to friends that have taken expensive courses and/or gone to university and they are impressed in how much I was able to retain and the incredible resources available to me. From curated cheatsheets, to color gradients, image hosting, videos I can play at any time and even SheCodes Radio(my favorite part!). Highly recommend more women empower themselves through code there are not enough of us!
