βIt's embarrassing but I was Java developer 10 years ago...π , and now I am on business side for my professional career. However, the background of "Tech + Business" have become my advantage. The technology is always evolving, and it is hard to catch up all the time if there is less opportunities like me. The learning through SheCodes Plus & React made me be up to date! Also, it's fun more than anything else! ππβ
Though the workshop was at times frustrating, I did learn a lot. I'm proud of the work I accomplished. My project goals were a little lofty for vanilla js, but I somehow made it work. π€·πΎββοΈ The only reason I gave 4/5 stars (it would have been 4.9/5 had the option been there) is because a lot of the content in the course material is a little outdated, but not so much so that it can't be dealt with. Overall, great class! Iβm excited to enroll into SheCodes+ React and further my programming knowledge.
I've absolutely loved studying this workshop and never thought coding would be as fun as it has been. The format is excellent & the balance of supporting but also encouraging me to find out the answers on my own has helped me learned a lot in a short time. I'll be booking a space on SheCodes Plus React, asap.

Great way to learn React in a really practical and logical way through the creation of a weather app.
The React course was definitely a lot more difficult than the other SheCodes workshops. Matt always does a great job of explaining everything as simply as possible, but I definitely still struggled a bit to conceptualize React. I had to do some more outside studying to help understand the context and how to best make React work in my project. I also felt like with this course, sometimes it was better to watch several videos at a time before making changes, instead of adding changes for each video, as sometimes something would "click" better after seeing the connections between several steps/concepts. All in all, SheCodes React was by far the most challenging, and frustrating at times, but not impossible with determination and with the Slack community support.
The workshop was great learning experience. It was lot of fun to create my own weather app with HTML, CSS and Javascript and host it. Can't wait to start the React workshop.
Another fantastic workshop led by a great teacher! The final project has given me great insight on Javascript, React and API's. SheCodes is not your typical coding/web development course - you have to come up with solutions and not just copy and paste code. When you are really stuck there is great level of support on Slack.
The react course was very basic. I appreciate that the instructor wants us to have a solid react foundation but I personally would enjoy a more intermediate level of react as well as industry convention when it came to file compartmentalisation.
I have started to know SheCodes by doing the "SheCodes Workshop". I was so fascinated by it that I decided to do "SheCodes Plus React". I just finished my second course with them and I feel so empowered by everything I learned in here. SheCodes Plus is great if you are looking for a new challenge and you want to learn something new! The learning process is very clear and you can always go back and review some of the older concepts! Great course!Can't wait to start React!

These were such amazing courses! I loved learning step by step the "how to" in basic HTML, Javascript, and CSS to the intensity that came with the React application. It's been a wild ride, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Matt's way of teaching allows people to actually learn and absorb the information given.
So far this was the best programming experience related to front-end development. Matt is an amazing teacher, the videos are well made and very well explained. The support that we receive on slack is good and I was happy that I also could help another students with doubts. I'm excited to finish this workshop, to add this project to my portofolio for future references and also excited to join the last workshop: React. Thank you all for your efforts in teaching us the joys of frontal-end development. :)

I'm so glad I took a chance and did the first tier of workshops with SheCodes. It was a great way to learn as a semi-beginner in coding and it allowed me to add on to what I already knew slowly while learning new things. I'm considering taking the classes all the way to SheCodes Plus React in hopes of pivoting my career! Matt is a great instructor and having the slack channel as support was very helpful. I also liked that the courses are fluid enough to let you figure out solutions on your own. I appreciated that each lesson is bite-sized and the timing worked very well with my schedule and full-time job.
WOW SheCodes Plus program learnt me a lot about coding ! Itβs a big challenge and an amazing feeling to create an app on your own. Canβt wait to learn more with SheCodes React!!

React was a challenge at times but it makes things so much more efficient in the end! I loved the experience of rebuilding my weather site using React components and will continue to play with it even after finishing the workshop.

I couldn't be happier with SheCodes. The speed of every class is perfect: Matt explains everything step by step, he makes very clear why each piece of code is important, and his classes are full of tips on how to clean it up and understand it when you read it again. They are divided by chapters with clear names, so you can always check it and have it right there whenever you have doubts about how you did it the first time. Class after class you can see your evolution and each time you can challenge yourself. In the moments in which I have felt that I couldn't do it (which surprisingly have been only a few), I always have known that I would find an answer either on the internet with the multiple tips and keywords that Matt suggested; in slack with other students who have had the same or very similar problem; or with JoΓ£o's help, as helpful as always!! I really really couldn't be happier! Next step: React!πͺ

When I first looked at a code years ago I said to myself that is impossible for me to do that. Well, I did it. I fell in love with coding in the introductory course, now in the Plus, I was able to develop much more skills and create a weather app in the end! It was awesome to build something from scratch! Because we build little by little every week it is much more stimulating than most online courses that just give you classes and at the end you need to do a big project from zero. SheCodes approach is much better and more exciting for learning! Looking forward to React!
SheCodes has challenged me in ways where I want to continue learning and grow as an individual, especially with coding. I was intimidated at first and I think the way Matt has taught the lessons made me finally understand and not be afraid. The SheCodes+ React Workshop was truly eye-opening. Matt has framed these lessons in such a great way that of course, while still very challenging, I was able to learn and understand everything that was being taught or demonstrated. It's not a peace of cake to deal with as a beginner studying programming language specially with zero background. But getting in into this coding workshop brings and developed my new skills how to deal with it in a very friendly and concise way. All the way to React from the two previous coding workshop is a huge achievement for me. For someone that is not so tech savvy, this workshop has taught me a lot in just 3 weeks. The videos were straight to the point and the challenges after each lesson were really helpful. I can proudly tell people I have coding knowledge and I will be better at it soon after the coding +react workshop. I am looking forward for the next challenge!
Nice React introduction course. Simple and logical explanations. One of the best things about it is to apply your knowledge after every lesson to practice and really assimilate what was taught.
SheCodes React was another great workshop from SheCodes. The most challenging one, that is for sure, but I think Matt did a great job explaining React. I would highly recommend the course to everybody who wants to start working with this framework.

After finishing the beginner workshop I decided to continue with SheCodes Plus, in order to gain more knowledge and skills of the coding world. It was a very intense and also frustrating time, but I'm very happy about my decision. I still have a lot to learn and definitely need more time to understand what I'm doing, but I will happily continue with coding (now with the SheCodes React workshop) and see where it takes me in the future π

I previously worked as a Digital Advertising Specialist for a media company in Washington DC. This is where I was first introduced to the coding world. I have advanced experience in HTML & CSS but, I knew I had only dipped my toes in the water. This was the moment I knew I wanted to pursue a career in programming (web developer/web design/frontend developer). I can say that the SheCodes Beginner Workshop taught me a lot. I now have a solid understanding of HTML, CSS & JavaScript. Iβm excited to further my knowledge by taking the SheCodes Plus & React courses. The beginner workshop has been extremely interesting! I had little knowledge of HTML and CSS and I was almost a complete newbie about JavaScript. Matt's lessons are clear, he is very talented at explaining new concepts and he focuses on the important information. I loved SheCodes, and the whole journey from the beginner workshop to the final React workshop. It was challenging but broken down into manageable pieces, and the support available from the SheCodes team was so valuable.
After the 3 weeks workshop I got really excited about coding, and wanted to learn more. Matt has really shown me his passion that inspired me to go ahead with the studies, but also shown me his patience and made me realize that enrolling to SheCodes projects was just what I needed to learn. Plus is an amazing opportunity for those who like me don't really have previous knowledge, and think is quite magical to built an app! There are a lot of awesome material on the internet and is really cool to be able to read them and use it in my own projects. Hope that React is even better!!
This is one of the best courses I've ever had. Getting into React already knowing JS, HTML and CSS was so much fun and a lot easier than I expected. SheCodes methodology is very efficient and smart. Being able to look at code and understand it is something I never thought I would be doing in my life. Can't wait to learn more out in the world!

SheCodes Plus has been a great experience from start to finish. Every lesson is explained clearly and the challenges throughout the course ensure you thoroughly understand each topic. Before you know it, you can understand some fairly complicated code. The support team on Slack are always available and willing to help with any issues you may come across. SheCodes Workshop totally exceeded all expectations of what I thought the course would be like, and what I would gain from doing it. The prospect of learning how to code (effectively from scratch!) was daunting at first, but the course format, structure of each lesson, set tasks/challenges and weekly homework projects made my coding journey not only fun and digestible, but also extremely rewarding. Being able to receive personal feedback as well as learn and take inspiration from other coders on the Slack channel was a real bonus, and it has been great to be part of the community! I'm really pleased with the knowledge and skills I've gained from doing the Workshop course, and can't wait to challenge myself further with SheCodes Plus/Plus React π.
I've had some experience with HTML in the past, but this workshop really put it in a way that was very easy to understand. CSS and JavaScript were new to me, and I learned a lot within this first workshop. I'm really looking forward to learning even more with SheCodes+ and SheCodes React.
Thanks to this module I was able to implement a reactive page allowing me to interact with different APIs. This has also given me the opportunity to learn how to interact with APIs and how integrations work. Great module! I'll continue with the next one, willing to improve and reach a turning point for my education.

Very good. Whilst I appreciate that React is comprehensive and this course certainly teaches you a lot, and I'm sure certainly covers the basics, there were many times during the development of the App through the teaching that other aspects of React were alluded to but were not fully covered or explained. I only wish these were elaborated upon. Otherwise, a fantastic course with a great online support team and brilliant intructional videos made by Matt.
I consider SheCodes as the most powerful teaching platform. Matt customized the course material while putting himself into our shoes and this was the main reason I could manage to complete the course. (I started from Workshop, took Plus course, and this was the most challenging one.) Matt can teach very complicated information into a simple but sophisticated way and thanks to him I could carry on my interest in coding and motivation to learn more towards all the way down to the end of this course. I would like to recognize countless and continuous supports that I got through Slack group chat platform. While observing other peer students` success such as completing weekly tasks (exercise or projects), I gained positive vibes from those who already moved to the next stage and I tried again with never-give-up spirits. Programming is a combination of simple coding. Human created programming to control (or perhaps communicate with) the machine in a simpler way. While celebrating the completion of SheCodes React course, I would like to consider SheCodes as the well-structured stepping stone that I can always refer to. Last but not least, I would like to show my appreciation to Matt who kindly followed his value, inspired by his mom, sharing the professional knowledge to empower women on the IT field. Even though I did not have much interaction with peer students who are located all over the world, I do consider the feeling of the solidarity with them. It would be interesting to have an interaction with alumni by having a reunion or graduates` association to check how alumni are doing after the graduation. I have tried so many free code workshops at this point. While I've gathered bits of information this is the only one that has really worked for me. I plan to sign up for SheCodes Plus + React as soon as I'm done writing this. Can't wait.

As a gradueted fashion designer I looked for something else to learn. Coding always had my interested but I never took the action to learn. I came across shecodes and took the opportunity. Learning React with SheCodes was a great time. The lessons were short, focused around a specific topic and easy to follow. Thanks to that, there's no way to feel overwhelmed or bored. The challenges were stimulating and fun to do. It was so satisfying to observe my app evolving with the skills gained throughout the course. I feel like my code is now looking much neater than in vanilla project. Starting my coding adventure, I was pretty scared that all of this will be too hard for me to understand. I'm glad that I overcame this feeling and realised that it isn't necessary to have a tech background to complete SheCodes workshop triad. I highly recommend it to everyone interested in frontend.

Learning how to build a weather app in React has been an exciting, challenging, and rewarding experience! I loved being able to implement new features in my React weather app that I wasn't able to in my first vanilla JavaScript app. I especially found the Slack chat group to be extremely helpful whenever I got stuck. SheCodes has definitely inspired me to further pursue a career in software development!
Waaw I can't believe this journey got to an end. I spent 3 amazing months learning how to code, from the induction learning CSS and HTML to JavaScript and React. It has been a great opportunity to be able to immerse myself in programming and I would definitely recommend these workshops to anyone who is interested in coding. I cannot explain how happy I am for being able to learn with Matt Delac and the SheCodes team, it was so inspiring that I applied to continue my studies in a Dev bootcamp, starting in April. I am thrilled about the new world I have just discovered!
Matt's videos are clear and the Slack channel is helpful when I get stuck. I was SO amazed at what we were able to do with the weather API. I now see such a cool range of possibilities for Javascript and I can't wait to go on to React!
SO MANY FEELINGS: so happy because it was a super fun journey through all these courses, but sad because it is over :) :( . This one was a real challenge, but as always Matt was able to explain and demonstrate everything perfectly. I am very happy that I had discovered SheCodes in this last summer, and I cannot be more thankfull to Matt and the whole team for having created and maintained this academy. Never in my life I would though to become passionate about frontend development. In my few years of experience, I always loved the backend component, and hated the frontend. Never understood CSS or HTML, and was scare to engage in the React thing. But after this experience I learned A LOT and actually have decided to try to change my career to be more frontend"ish" .
