It was quite a journey to learn coding with React, including moments of frustration, but mostly with positive feelings when my ideas came alive. Thanks to Matt and the entire SheCodes team it felt so much easier to get started with coding. And I canβt wait to use my new skills in many more projects. For me coding is the perfect mix of creativity, logic and detective work.

React is definitely more challenging than I thought but having done both the weather and dictionary app gave me perspective on how to use it. I'm so happy I came back for SheCodes Plus! I've tried several other coding courses and was really struggling to understand JavaScript. Matt's videos are engaging and his clear explanations, plus the hands-on practice, were exactly what I needed. Super excited to continue with the Responsive and React courses!
This weather app is my second project with SheCodes. It's been quite an adventure for me. I started off strong, then I was ill for a couple of months, but I was happy to finally get back to finishing it. I struggled quite a bit, but I am so grateful for JoΓ£o's tremendous kindness and help - I couldn't have achieved my vision without him. I am so happy and proud of the result. I really hope to come back to this project and figure out how to get the page to load faster because that's the only thing that bothers me a bit. Aside from that, I have learned a lot! I created my own SVGs, which I can now say I will never do again, but I am happy for the experience :P I learned about APIs, hosting, GitHub, and obtained greater knowledge of JavaScript, which is not easy - I still have a lot to learn, but thanks to SheCodes I know a lot more than I did last year. I am now moving on to React and then Responsive. I am super excited! Thank you Matt, JoΓ£o, Julie, and Daniela! :D
I'm absolutely in love with this course. I didn't finish my project on time though but it keeps you motivated to continue, to find a spare moment and archive the goal, even step by step. Loved this course. It was certainly challenging (more so than the previous workshops) I so appreciated Matt's humbleness though and how he's still perfecting the skill of making webpages responsive. He's an incredible instructor, and the help received on Slack was priceless. I gained a lot of confidence in my coding skills during the workshop and look forward to coding more, in SheCodes continues to impress me as an organization. I love everything they are about, especially their focus to offer training for free in developing countries. So cool! Can't wait for React!
I often say to everyone around me that SheCodes is the best thing that has ever happened in my life so far. In my case, this course is not about learning coding only and by the way, we have the best teacher ever... but it is also about fulfillment and happiness with what I am doing. Before starting this course, I did not have any knowledge about coding -though I was always so curious about it! I have just finished SheCodes Basics and WOW! Within 3 weeks, I've learnt plenty about HTML, CSS and JavaScript and built a basic web page from scratch! Learning to code can be challenging, however, it is indeed rewarding too. Remember that, to really learn this stuff, you need to immerse yourself in it. Keep practising! I highly encourage anyone new to coding to enrol in this workshop. Do not hesitate! Would recommend all the ScheCodes workshops to anyone! I learned so much in Basic, Plus, and then React. There's nothing like building something yourself and seeing it come to life. I found coding very rewarding. I was also able to fit it in around my full time position. Every week day from 6-8 you could find me watching the lessons and completing the challenges and homework - and with that schedule, I was able to get through it without feeling stressed. Extensions are super felxible too when life gets in the way. 100/100!
React is a challenge for me, it is difficult and demanding, but thanks to SheCodes workshops it is easier for me to start my adventure with programming in React.
Taking the SheCodes Basics was definitely what I needed to feel refreshed and confident with coding before hopping onto the more advanced courses such as React or Pro, which I am thinking of taking next. Each lesson within a week was so easy to follow and the extra documentation and syntaxes provided below each video was very helpful. The way Matt had divided his lessons really makes the student not feel overwhelmed as most may worry or be intimidated about when it comes to coding. But with SheCodes everything was easy. Onto the next courses!
Pursuing the advanced courses of SheCodes Plus was a worthwhile effort. Before SheCodes, I'd been going through self-teaching coding courses and nearly gave up. I'm glad I didn't. SheCodes React was my third workshop and while it was definitely challenging at times I would 100% recommend it. I learned heaps about how to use React and how components work and how to bring it all together. Since I have a background in linguistics and teaching I particularly liked creating the Dictionary App, which is also why I chose that for my final project. Can't wait to get started with Responsive later this year.
I have finally completed the React course of SheCodes. It's a lot of hard work, but it's also very fun (personally I enjoyed the React course WAY more than the SheCodes Plus course)! I was motivated with seeing my progress in real-time, and as always Matt's instruction is remarkable and easy to understand and follow. The rest of the SheCodes team is very helpful in answering questions as well. I love the fact that we can review course materials and videos as many times as we want, and that we have lifetime access to our completed course workshops! I'm definitely going to review and refer back to what I learned in my React course throughout my ongoing coding journey. I have learned so, so much. With SheCodes, I was able to learn to code from literally no experience at all, all the way to being comfortable with JavaScript React. I encourage any and all women interested in learning how to code to learn with SheCodes. Well, this was fun! The creative side in me absolutely loved getting into designing and building my own website with SheCodes Responsive. In this course we learn the details of the whole process of developing a website, from Search Engine Optimization, to multiple page hosting, Media Queries or Boostrsap to make your site responsive, so it is usable from all mobile devices. Wether it was me personally, or the whole process of learning and evolving taking place, this course went more smoothly, with rarely any bumps on the way. I really enjoyed it and i cant wait to get onto the last one, React!

The real life projects tested my practical skills to the limits. This is such a great program to go through each step on understanding React and API's. This part of the SheCodes workshop really took my knowledge and skills to a whole another level.
I loved react. I liked it better than vanilla javascript actually, everything can be much better organised with react. The courses were very well designed, I especially enjoyed building the dictionary app after all the weather-app-building :) It took me definitely longer than 5-10 hrs a week to really throw myself into everything, but it was worth it and I'm very motivated to start working with react on a regular basis now.

Having completed shecodesBasics, I really enjoyed it and decided to take the next step to ShecodesPlus. This one was much more challenging and it took me much longer than expected (due to being on maternity leave and looking after a young baby full time!). The team are very understanding and supportive and I genuinely don't think there is another course out there like this one. Thanks so much to the Shecodes team for producing this course for people like me! Definitely taking it even further and going on to do React as I've learnt so much already and keen to learn more!

SheCodes Plus was indeed challenging as JavaScript can be super confusing and not at all intuitive to a complete beginner. After completing this course, I can confidently present my weather app that I coded (and actually understood the process of) through Matt's efficient and eloquent way of teaching. Anyone can code but not many can create such a well thought out module, his own platform and most importantly, teach. I'm looking forward to learning more in SheCodes React.

SheCodes Basics was a great introductory course for me since I was always interested in coding but had no idea what it would be like. This course was very easy to fit in to my busy work schedule and I just wish the basics program had more content because I was left wanting more. I am a lab technician working specifically in lab operations and will use what I learn when working with developers for sites that my group uses. I most likely will upgrade to the Plus Reacts or the Pro workshop next.

I bought into the myth that programming is just for mathematically-inclined folks. SheCodes quickly debunked that myth. Now that I understand what code can do, I spend a lot of time dreaming up all sorts of ideas that can be created with React.
This is it ! I completed three SheCodes courses, and I'm so grateful for all the knowledge I've gained. Working with React was cool but also a challenge; at the end of the day, things are so much more efficient.
