The SheCodes Basics Add-On Workshop wan an awesome experience from start to finish! Matt's clear explanations made learning easy, and his enthusiasm for coding made it so much fun. I really love how my project ended up looking. Although it was supposed to be a page about my hobby, I decided to do it about Eminem because I'm a Stan :P I'm looking forward to completing the next Add-On now!
Coding has been fun, I won't lie. I had no knowledge of any of the coding languages that I have learned in my first week. The instructor is very good at explaining and it became easy for me to understand the task or project at hand. I can't wait be a tech girl!βΊοΈ

The dictionary project is a fun project overall. However, I found a notable issue with the integration of the Pexels API for image display. It seems this part of the workshop is significantly outdated, going by the oldest Slack messages, which date back about two months (as far as I could find). Despite API changes and a different authorization process, the lesson continues to rely on the outdated method. Surprisingly, the project's GitHub repository hasn't seen any updates for an entire year. Mind you, the lesson in question is only 30 minutes long. Inquiries on Slack about these concerns received a canned response stating that the Pexels API underwent recent changes. This led to the existing setup being dysfunctional, without an updated lesson. Instead, a new Images API was suggested as a replacement when asking for help in the Slack messenger. I believe a notice within the lesson itself about the changed API integration would be appropriate. Other lessons have included such notices before, so it's puzzling why it's missing here. This could save others from unnecessary frustration when grappling with a broken method. To those taking on this project, be prepared for potential roadblocks due to this outdated API setup. It's disappointing that such a significant flaw hasn't been addressed more proactively.

Really good project to practice html and css
This add-on was a great way to learn some more base skills I feel a professional coder would know, but I would not have known so it makes me more confident in my abilities. The project was also a lot of fun to put together, and it is nice to see the things learned applied into a great looking project for my portfolio.

I really enjoyed the SheCodes Basics workshop. Three weeks passed very quickly. When working on a project, you forget about time.The final project proved to be incredibly fascinating, and its development not only solidified my acquired knowledge but also highlighted areas for improvement. It's a cool feeling when you have the opportunity to influence the environment by changing "Background-color", "Height", "Width", adding "Image", "A", "Strong"... Magic happens before your eyes.
Seeing some of the powerful things CSS can do is amazing! This course really opens up a new world to making your project look its absolute best. First impressions are very important and completing this course has allowed my first impressions to be on point.

This course made learning the basics of code so easy. For me, the best way to learn is by practicing so the projects assigned to us were a huge help. It's given me the drive and confidence to strive for reaching my full potential as a full stack developer.
The React Add-on project was a great way to learn how to 1) fetch data from multiple APIs and render it in the same application and 2) go through the process of trial-and-error-ing different public APIs that best suit your application.
It wasn't easy, but following the steps from the course I managed to finish my project and gained some practical knowledge. There is still so much more to learn though.

SheCodes was my first try at learning to code and I loved it! If I hadn't gone to their free seminar online I never would have discovered my love for coding and computer science. The lessons are well explained and the projects are enjoyable, at a good level for beginners. Would recommend it to anyone with an interest in coding who doesn't know where to start or is looking to upgrade their skills with one of the other workshops :)

In this course, I've learned the workflow of frontend development and how to utilize APIs, work with Git, and host websites and many other topics. It was so fascinating to work on the weather app project, although it was pretty challenging to make all the features work using the real data. I am so glad that I have finished my project and I am looking forward to learning more.

Matt is an awesome instructor, he teaches each concept very clearly. The lessons are well structured. The mini challenges and the weekly projects really help in applying and better understanding the knowledge learnt from the lessons. There's also a technical team that is always ready to help with any technical questions one may have.
This project was definitely a challenge for me, but it was a good challenge. I had to step away from the workshop for a while due to personal reasons and ended up restarting the project once. However, the skills and tools I gained from the previous workshops as well as the easy to follow video lessons really helped me get back on track and complete the workshop without too many frustrations. Overall, I learned a lot through this workshop, and it was also fun to complete.
Another workshop completedπ₯³. Thanks to SheCodes, tags, attributes, properties have become old acquaintances and no longer cause fearπ. I didn't have enough time so I repeated the project after Maat. This is a very interesting activity and now I want to create my own project with my own design.
Before SheCodes, I've tried other free code camps/coding websites but was always left frustrated as I couldn't understand what I was learning or what I was doing. However, the step-by-step (very hand-holding) approach by Matt and his team has restored my confidence and helped me successfully build a webpage. My advice for new beginners who are eager to create: follow the instructions before getting carried away and wanting to build your own hobby project. Trust me. This will save you a lot of time and frustration.
SheCodes Plus helped me gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of JS and hosting websites, which I will use in my daily work. Although there were some challenging parts, I had a lot of fun solving the challenges and creating my project.
