In this AI course I created an AI Travel Itinerary Generator that provides the user with a 3 day itinerary for the city/country they enter into the search engine. Without SheCodes, I wouldn't have gained this level of experience and knowledge with JavaScript and AI. Implementing AI and APIs into my code has been a game changer and I'm beyond excited to create more projects using AI to add to my portfolio. About the Workshop: My experience with the React workshop was both enriching and challenging. Sometimes it felt the workshop's pace was occassionaly fast but yet was still highly informative. About the project: despite its familiarity, felt yet so different building it with React. The framework's features and structured approach showcased numerous advantages over traditional JavaScript, which made it very exciting for me. I gained deeper insight into the complexities of JavaScript by taking part in SheCodes Plus and had an incredibly enjoyable time programming my weather app. Even though some aspects of JavaScript are still not easy to grasp, I have noticed a notable improvement in my understanding. The ability to work on challenging projects and feel a sense of accomplishment at the end was a genuinely motivating experience.
The API lessons were incredibly well-structured and easy to follow upon several practice. Matt's videos explained complex concepts in a clear and concise way, making APIs seem approachable and exciting. And because they are pre-recorded, I could listen to it again and again. Each week had a series of clear and concise lessons looking at a small number of functions within a certain language, culminating in a project consolidating the learning for that week. These weekly homework projects were really helpful in solidifying what I had learned, allowing me to see the immediate results of my efforts which was very rewarding. For me, a standout feature of the course was the weekly deadline, which encouraged regular progress on my part through creating a sense of accountability. Knowing that I had to submit homework every week definitely pushed me to stay on track. Another feature I really enjoyed was being part of the SheCodes Slack community, it was great to be part of a community of people on a similar learning path, seeing other people's progress and projects, being able to help others and to find help too. SheCode plus was a wholesome different level where I learnt advanced page animation techniques with JavaScript functions, integrating APIs into code, creating project setup (Git ,GitHub...etc.).
