I am Lindokuhle Yende from South Africa. I recently had a new found interest in coding. I am not really a beginner since I have some background in Python but I was clueless about Web development. I found it very nice to learn JavaScript since it has some methods which are similar to those used in Python. I enjoyed creating my own website since it combines my knowledge in coding and my interest in Astronomy, which made me be able to express myself fully. This project made me realize that there is so much diversity in coding and you can branch into any field with your skills. I enjoyed every moment of this SheCodes workshop.
This workshop was really fun. Matt is explaining everything step by step, so I was able to keep up and successfully finish all challenges and my final project as well. I'm definitely going to continue my learning journey with Shecodes.

I really loved and immersed myself a lot more in the course. It was more challenging than SheCodes Basics but also a lot more fun!! Matt really guides you through the making of the entire project but you're also given enough freedom to make it your own and play around with the code, if you choose to. Learning how to implement API was one of the most challenging but rewarding parts of this course. Learning about GitHub was also very useful. I recommend this course to anyone who wants to get started on programming.

Hello!! I found SheCodes to be better than any other coding website I've tried or coding class I took in college. After I finished my project, I showed my mother and stepfather, and they were both amazed at what I did; it made me feel proud of myself for showing them something I'm starting to enjoy!

SheCodes is an excellent online platform for acquiring coding skills. I successfully completed the SheCodes Basic program in less than two weeks. Just completed the add-on project which was a great lesson in getting more creative! I'm sure all the material can come off as overwhelming, but it is truly a process of memorization through repetition and you will feel great when the pieces all start to click together. the program is hard and easy at the same time, the course work has been broken down in a way that a child would also understand. Taking this online coding class was a game-changer for me. The course content was well-structured, and the final project was a highlight, showcasing what I'd learned. I went from feeling overwhelmed by coding to confidently building my own projects. Before taking this course I had heard many negative things about React. However, as soon as I started coding and completing challenges, I realized that React is much better than vanilla JS because there were no long codes anymore (which was annoying to me) and I was able to categorize different parts of my code (It's more concise and maintainable). The SheCodes React workshop was well-structured (as in previous workshops); with comprehensible and easy-to-follow learning videos, multiple challenges, and a practical final project (updating the weather app). I would like to thank the instructor, Matt, for his excellent teaching and guidance. I learned so much from this course and I am grateful for the opportunity to participate.

This project was fun to complete. It seemed intimidating at first but the easy to follow videos and resources provided were very helpful in completing the project. My confidence with coding has grown after completing this workshop, and I am proud of the project that I was able to complete.
I am so happy I finished this project. At times it was extremely hard, confusing, and frustrating but the community on slack was so helpful! I feel that some of the concepts were too advanced for those coming out of SheCodes Basics, even with Matt's explanation, and some of the information is outdated. I would love to see the video tutorials updated to where Matt uses the SheCodes API! Other than those tiny qualms, this workshop was great!

Every time I finish another SheCodes Workshop I feel so much more confident in my coding skills! This project is definitely the closest one to my heart since it includes everything I've done so far during all the workshops! It was surreal to see the long way I have come from the first web page I have ever written in my life to making a weather app and now a portfolio to show to potential employers!! Coding with Matt was an incredible experience. Although some parts, particularly in JavaScript, were challenging, Matt's explanation made it easy for me to understand the logic and implement it correctly. I found coding so exciting that I often lost track of time while working on my final project. I went above and beyond by adding extra features, such as night mode, correcting the timezone, and using custom icons instead of relying on the API. The end result was something I'm satisfied with.
Very good and informative regarding the js and the API application on the project. I really enjoy going through the API documentation and understanding more about its application in my code. For sure much more challenging than the basic one, but gives a deeper compression of how things work. Excited about the Responsive workshop.
