Learning about CSS grids has enlightened me on the way I approach layout design, offering incredible flexibility and responsiveness to my web projects but also makes me appreciate the power of frameworks like Bootstrap which makes life easier. The HTML tables lessons was a cool little feature. Finally, embedding medias was the must-learn lesson as every websites have them nowadays to add a dynamic touch / enriching the user experience. These past few weeks have been very demanding but extremely interesting as coding became increasingly complex. Whenever I thought I already knew a subject, or at least understood its logic, the next lesson would break my confidence and increase my frustation. However, when you see your project developing and you are the one responsible for it, all the previous stress no longer make sense. It's a journey, not a sprint, so be patient with yourself, even if it doesn't seem like it, we are evolving step by step. This has been an interesting 3 weeks of trial and error, learning and challenging myself even outside of the SheCodes platform. Everything is explained in layman terms to better understand what each code does and how it can be implemented into what one is trying to build. One thing i like about the SheCodes community is how fast they respond once you send a message in need of assistance. Not only do the technical team respond, but the other ladies in the program also respond if they are able to assist. I would definitely recommend to someone who wants to learn how to code. Definitely excited to learn more and build more projects.
This was a great add-on course to the basic learnings of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. It was especially fun to try and code at the same time as the learning videos for the project (assignment) for this course. This was a great way to test my understanding of what was being done, and see if I have found other ways to do reach the same solution.
