Hello world! I just wrapped up my course with SheCodes and enjoyed learning the basics of coding. This course gives great insight and helps you understand why you are doing what you're doing. React was definitely the most challenging of my SheCodes workshops, but I am happy to be leaving with two projects I can be proud of. SheCodes has taken me from a person with literally no coding experience to someone who can't wait to get home and work on coding.
Iβve learned a lot on SheCodes Plus Workshop. I had so much fun building Web application. I can not wait to continue learning and build more projects! Nevertheless, Iβm starting to realize that girls can do anything a guy can do.
I have been loving the journey so far. I do have some experience with html, css and Javascript. I love that the courses uses videos with bite size lessons to complete with one project at the end of each module. I started a front end bootcamp and it was way over my head with a lot to complete in a weeks time. This course has given me to much more confidence that I can do this!
The basic workshop was fun and I love that I could learn at my own pace! The length of each lesson was manageable and the challenge after each lesson & final project was great for hands-on experience. Would love to join the more advanced workshops soon!
The course is well structured and builds your knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript step by step. The challenges thrown in to the lessons makes it easier to learn and apply what you are doing to improve the final project. I very much enjoyed this and would highly recommend the course to anyone who would like to learn how to code!
It was a super fun workshop where I totally forgot the time while doing the challenges, homework, and projects.
This workshop pushed me to constantly reflect on and improve my code. When building the weather app, you get the chance to go beyond the project requirements and use some of the coding techniques you learn during the workshop to code features that aren't required like a location button, a unit converter, a timezone-accurate time display and more! Coding these features by myself without being able to rely on Matt's vanilla code helped me learn how to create and use my own functions.
I learned so much during this React course and worked on two amazing projects (The dictionary and weather app), I would recommend this course for anyone who is really interested in coding.
I had a lot of fun learning the basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript! I thought the projects were perfect to practice what each lesson was teaching. I can't wait to learn more and build more projects! SheCodes Radio was a super awesome touch.
I truly enjoyed re-learning and putting my skills to the test with SheCodes. The videos were extremely helpful. I enjoyed having to just work through my errors and just try different elements because I was able to learn something new each time. Matt was great along with his support team on Slack. I'm hoping to continue on to the next level of SheCodes workshops and be able to develop my first project into something even more amazing.
Shecodes has been amazing helping me get a good understanding of the world of coding! I love how Matt explains the concepts in a very simple and understandable way, and the challenges and projects are awesome because you're learning but also making something to show possible employers in the future. I have thoroughly enjoyed the React workshops. The last few months were challenging but fun. I can see the progress and improvement in each project! I feel very confident with the skills I have learnt and I am excited to see where this takes me in the future. I am now feeling more confident and hope to transition into tech one day.

It's the first time that I use React and I have to admit that was really straightforward. The instructor explains the code and modules step by step. Moreover, it was really funny to design my own web page. I can't wait to apply all the knowledge that I obtained during the workshop in my future projects.
I am very impressed with the level of skills I've learnt. When you look at the agenda you might get a little intimidated at first. But actually it's super exciting. The lessons are very well-organised and easy to follow. I really enjoyed the course. In the end you have a cool project you can showcase.
I have loved working through each SheCodes workshop, expanding my knowledge of coding and being able to see my progress is so rewarding. I've learned so much and I can't wait to apply my knowledge to future projects! :)
I am glad that I joined SheCodes! I have no basic or knowledge in coding. The basics workshop has provided me some insights of how coding works. Very easy to follow video and instructions which made self-learning possible. This experience has given me motivation to explore further and learn from other coders' project. After completing the Basic workshop, I was really looking forward to continue my coding journey with Plus. The level of understanding you gain is really astonishing, and being able to present your own built project at the end makes you feel really proud. It was surprising how often I ended up in a coding tunnel - totally focused on my project and forgetting the time. It was fun!

After completing SheCodes Basic I immediately sign up for SheCodes Plus. Compare to Basic Workshop it was challenging at times, but very interesting and fun. I'm proud of progress I've made so far and of my Weather App project. I can't wait to sign up for the next workshop.
okay here's just my opinion. I honestly liked the shortness of the SheCodes workshop, it was an eye opener experience for me. I did appreciate the videos that were available, but I also had to spend some time having to learn things my own, by searching up how-to videos, and reading about new terms and techniques, which I have to admit, I wasn't thrilled about. I figured since we were paying to get into the workshop, the information would be taught to us, and not us having to teach ourselves at times. Of course, I can't be too upset with it because it was titled a basic workshop, so I should have probably guessed. I also felt like the project video demos were way more easy to follow along versus the challenge videos from week 1 and 2 (sidenote: week 2 seems a bit more easier than week 1, and it wasn't as over bearing, could just have been for me.) The week 3 (aka project) videos were completely step by step, and when I was doing my project, that's what I used to help me build it from scratch, instead of having to go back to look at week 1 and 2 challenge videos (if you're reading this without being in the workshop, it may not make sense, but it will if you do)! The videos from Week 1 and 2, I only knew what to do after I submitted my solution, and I saw the answer. I wished I just understood before from the learning video. I am quite happy that I was able to follow through with the workshop (finally! I had kept putting it off! :') When I finally did commit to the workshop, though, I had some basic knowledge of HTML that I believe helped me keep going. I do think if you're a beginner with no absolute knowledge of web development, you should try to know some before jumping into this workshop, especially if you're gonna pay. There are free beginner workshops online (way long, might be kinda boring too though), I would recommend watching some videos of Introduction to HTML/CSS/JAVASCRIPT, even reading some books (another sidenote: I bought a workbook to help with HTML/CSS, definitely helped me out.), then I would join SheCodes. It wasn't as overwhelming, because some of the words were familiar. Another piece of advice, the deadline can sneak up on you, especially if you have outside life going on, like work or school or whatever else that can take up your time. This workshop is like an online class, so keep that in mind when choosing your start date. Overall, I do appreciate this as a start up, and a push in the right direction. It really depends on your dedication, truthfully. It's a great tool, and I'm thankful for the opportunity. Also, its three weeks-one if you really wanna push it. Not bad.
My final project! I think this is a great way to end my workshop journey - by creating and celebrating all the work I've done!
I was initially nervous about taking on learning to code as it seemed complicated, but I wanted to give it a go. SheCodes is an amazing place to start learning, Matt is a great teacher and breaks it down so well - he also compares it to real life scenarios sometimes which makes it easier to understand. You have plenty of time to learn and submit homework/projects while maintaining work/life balance. I love what I have learnt so far and plan on upgrading to a bigger course.
It was my first time coding and I loved it β₯οΈ! Thanks to the SheCodes team for providing such an easy to follow course with little projects throughout the way. I did the Basics workshop and I think it's a great way to learn about the very first initial steps in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. PS. I was always listening to the SheCodes radio while I was working on my final project, great music choice! π§
Once again I have learned so much in just a few weeks. I highly recommend the responsive course! It makes a difference when your project looks good no matter what device the user is using.

I signed up for Matt's SheCodes free workshop totally on a whim one night when I was in the process of an entire life overhaul. Watching Matt code brought me back to my Neopets "coding" days when I'd create personal pages for my Neopets profile using AskJeeves for help on what I was doing. Something reignited in me and I realized that I missed the puzzle that is coding. After I attended that workshop, I signed up for the SheCodes Basics class. I had so much fun learning and relearning coding through this course. Not only did I have so much fun learning, I had a blast (are you allowed to say that about what is considered homework?" completing my final project for this course. I am so proud of my final project and hope to continue my coding journey in the future!
I started learning coding with no background experience in the field so that my resume could stand out amongst others during my job search in Marketing. I was surprised by how fun it turned out to be! As the class progressed, it was exciting to see things start to click and seeing the progress of my projects coming to life. I gained a new interest in something I never thought I'd be able to do and gained so much confidence! This is a great course for beginners and experienced coders.
Good intro! A good balance of learning, challenges and project. Now i have a better scope of the importance of html, css, javascript, what each of them mean and look forward to keep coding.

Another great workshop. I continue to grow and learn in these workshops and can't wait to sign up for the next one. At times it was so confusing I felt like I was losing my mind but I did genuinely enjoy this workshop and am satisfied with how my project came out. I really enjoyed these lessons. It was like a walk through memory lane from what I learned in High School yet I only remembered some of the JavaScript stuff. Helped a lot and it made me create a project that I could show in my portfolio too.
This is the beginning of a great adventure in the world of virtual creativity. This experience with SheCodes is a well-thought-out project for women, and learning is very easy to learn.
I really enjoyed the basic course from SheCodes. It was well structured, easy to follow and I loved the challenges in between to always practice what you just learned. Only minus point was that in the last week you do not learn anything new. You are completely working on the final project.
This React course was the most challenging of the workshops, but I got a real kick out of finding solutions to create the different apps. It's a great follow-on from the Plus course, as it takes a lot of the JS knowledge acquired and shifts it to show how to set up clean, efficient code in the component model. It's also given me a push to re-engage with JS and learn more with further projects. Would definitely recommend!
The courses videos were broken into easily digestible pieces which build on top of each other, before you know it you know how to design and build your own web page! They have requirements for the final project which means that unless you copy the demo site code and functionality you do not pass. They list the functionality they require but not the specific order they want it in and if you do not follow the order that they require you fail and have to resubmit.
I love this course and I found it very useful with good exercises to practice. Matt explains in a very nice way which makes things easier to understand, since I was never the technical person. I love learning new things, it was a lot of fun and the course was much better than expected, I was very happy to see the results of my projects. Working as a Recruiter, this course already helped me a lot to have a better idea of what my tech colleagues do in a regular basis.
Started as someone with zero coding knowledge, as a homemaker. Within days I'm surprised at my capability to submit my final project today. It was very challenging but a lot of fun. Matt does a fantastic job of thoroughly walking you through every step of the learning process. I Highly recommend this course for anyone who wants to start their journey in coding.

I loved how easy SheCodes was to follow. The lessons were bite-size, the challenges made it easy to put my new skills into practice, and the final project really challenged me to think for myself. I've told several friends to look up SheCodes and register!

A good course, however it's probably best served after all other courses available, as it may reference projects you have not yet completed. The portfolio site you end up making is nice and clean.

This was my favourite course so far! I loved being able to design and then code my own website, and seeing the final project made me realise how far I had come in these three courses. React here I come!
The instructions are clear and easy-to-understand for a complete newbie like me. Lessons are well-organized with notes conveniently provided. Projects are suitable for beginner level, with step-by-step walkthroughs and sample solutions. I was able to seek help on my problems via Slack, as well as extend the deadlines when necessary. 10 out of 10!!!

The more and more I learn about coding the more intrigued I feel. I've always loved a good challenge and coding has definitely tested my patience but the feeling when something works is the greatest! This portfolio project has really put all my knowledge to the test and I've learned so much about myself. I now have the confidence to build other portfolios and responsive websites. I intend to keep practicing those skills by offering a helping hand to friends who may benefit from a website portfolio or responsive website. I've come so far since I first started in January and it's only the start! Next stop... React! I can't wait to continue learning on my coding journey!

Learning React has been a great experience, very interesting, not without challenges, but definitely worth it. The final project was a great and fun way to practice all the tools learned. Now it's over, I wish the course had been a bit longer!
I highly recommend SheCodes for any individual who wishes to take charge of their own work and creativity. Learning coding has helped me better understand developers, and the challenges they might be facing. Apart from that, I have had a great time creating my own project which has been extremely fulfilling in a number of ways!

When I bought the course I was scared. Scared that I will find out that I don't get it. That's too difficult for me. That I will just waste money. I was wrong! turned out that I don't suck and I actually enjoy coding. At least at this stage, and that I want to learn more. I really liked classes with quick videos explaining and showing most important things. Although, almost at the end I realized that there are some extra info below the videosπ€¦ββοΈ. What works for me are challenges and weekly homework as well as the final project. I think it helps to learn better through the whole course step by step without being left with everything for the final project. I would definitely recommend the basic course to anyone. It's a great opportunity to test the water without investing big money into something we are not sure we want.
Being a full language and literature scholar and working in the editorial industry, I didn't think the free coding class would spark much interest in me. But I'm so glad I was wrong: I really connected with the essence of the project since the beginning, and especially with how Matt was able to transmit his knowledge for real beginners. Enrolling on SheCodes Basics gifted me with 3 full weeks of fun, honestly! I didn't feel like the content was "dumbed down", on the contrary: it was highly specific and relevant, yet understandable. I had loads of fun coding along with SheCodesRadio, and the challenges were real challenges: they put me against the wall and required me to deeply understand the materials, which was really fun for once. No pressure, just an entertaining dare. All in all: absolutely would recommend. 10/10 β
My best friend had recently begun to learn coding and I was excited for her but also not super familiar with what that meant as a career path. I happened across the free coding class from SheCodes and I was intrigued, if only to get a better understanding of what my friend is learning. The class really opened my eyes to what learning coding can do for a career pivot, especially for women. I decided to try the SheCodes basics course and I'm so excited to learn more! This platform really takes away the intimidation factor that I think scares away a lot of people. I have never considered myself a math or tech savvy person. This course has helped me focus on digesting the concepts, rather than getting caught up in self-conscious anxiety about whether I have enough technical understanding to do this. I also love that this course includes lots of challenges and projects that get the learner actively using the skills that are being taught. I also love that there is reliable online support to turn to when you get stuck and need help! This course has been so amazing and I love telling my other female friends about it in case they want to try it.

I learned so much in such a short amount of time, and I had the opportunity to create a project that suites my own interests. The guidance provided throughout this workshop has been so helpful and creates a wonderful sense of community despite this being an online workshop.
At times challenging, depending on how good you are at logical thinking, it was definitely a new way of having to think for me. But I'm overall happy with my project, and all the deadlines really helped as well.
Everything is really well explained. Everyone has been super helpful. The weather app project was a great challenge. I learned a lot.
This was an enjoyable experience! I didn't realize how much I had learned or how much I would understand at the end. This made starting the project a daunting task to me. Once I started my project, I realized I recognized a lot more code as I was putting together different elements and working through trail and error. It was fun to see that I was able to create so much and it's only been a few weeks!
I'm so grateful for this opportunity. Before SheCodes I've tried to navigate web development on my own, it wasn't at all easy and I very made little progress. My initial goal was to finish this workshop in a month, along the line I got stressed and frustrated. I took a lot of breaks, thankfully the workshop was very flexible, I was able to take my time to finally understand JAVASCRIPT. I'm very excited for the knowledge I've gathered and I'm looking forward to all the wonderful projects I'm going to create.
Initially, I was concerned about not being able to understand coding. So I had been postponing this learning milestone for a long time. When I started with SheCodes, I selected 3 weeks for the basics, and still, I thought I would need some extensions. The 10th day has passed, and I've already completed the last project. What is truly amazing is how SheCodes simplify the complex process of learning such a difficult skill. I am very proud to be a part of this group now. Many thanks to Matt and all the wonderful members of the SheCodes team.
I started SheCodes Basic just over a week ago and was having so much fun learning that I completed the course way too fast! I had never coded before and now I just built myself a cute little website for my final project! This has been a great introduction to the world of coding. The satisfaction from successfully completing each lesson 'challenge', the weekly homework, and the final project of creating a webpage from scratch that uses all the HTML, CSS, and Javascript components, has been rewarding.
I really had fun building my own project from scratch following the instructions in SheCodes Basics workshop. The course is interactive and easy to follow, and let you eager to learn more about more complex JavaScript functions and more!
It was incredibly stimulating when I tried opening my project on my phone and I saw that it was so well responsive... and that it was written by ME! Creating responsive websites is really no simple task, you need to pay attention to a lot of things. But it felt like a stimulating challenge, and I'm proud of what I created! I enjoyed this course tremendously! There are many free courses out there to learn the same material, but I felt it was worth it to pay to get my questions answered quickly and join a program with a well-thought out structure that holds you accountable. I think most people don't retain much from watching videos or doing short coding exercises - you learn from doing a complete project that means something to you, with a deadline! SheCodes delivers on this.
Really enjoyed the course. Submitting my final project in week 3 has made me realise how much I've learnt already! :-)
