I honestly never thought that understanding and writing code was meant for me, and I always dismissed it as something too difficult to manage. Until SheCodes, that is.The workshop has given me a brand new understading of coding and has opened up a whole new world of possibilities for me! I've always been interested in learning how to code but could never find a class or program that could teach in a simple enough way for me to follow along. I came across SheCodes and read the testimonials of many other women like myself who is trying add to our skills and make ourselves even more valuable in an ever growing technological world. After these last 3 weeks of taking the SheCodes workshops and completing my first Project, I am grateful and extremely excited to take the Advanced courses in order to help me reach my life goals for myself and my family!
The course was fun and designed for absolute beginners like me. Toward the end of the course, I felt that I want to learn to code even deeper. There are great resources to keep you on track and motivated, especially Slack was great to me. I was inspired by many students' final projects. Definitely recommend it to my friends.
I am currently within the HR career path. However, I have always been curious about coding. I heard about SheCodes last year, and I decided 2022 was going to be my year to EMBARK on this coding journey. The main aspect I was interested in with coding was web design. π©π½βπ»I enjoyed learning HTML, CSS, and JS. I did not expect to learn as much as I did in this coding basics class. All the lessons are ordered in a way for easy learning and comprehension. Matt is an amazing teacher. With each homework assignment and project, you get to test your knowledge! I was hesitant to learn this on my own- however with the support of the SheCodes squad/other learners, I felt empowered that if I didn't understand- I could reach out on the real-time Slack chat. My final project reflects my love for baking! I tried to make it simple yet modern. There are still some concepts I would love to learn in order to implement for further development of my web design skills! I'm not sure what the future is for my coding journey as of now. I absolutely loved this workshop. I learned so much during this process and I absolutely loved the final project that we got to do. Building the Weather App was such a fun experience and it really taught me a lot about my abilities and was a great learning experience at filling in the gaps. I really appreciated all the feed back that I got from the instructors and Matt gave great information in the lecture videos.
I'm incredibly proud of how much I learned and improved my coding in the past 8 weeks. This workshop was really fun but also quite tough, with many hours spent trying to figure out why my functions are not working. I looooved this course! I've tried taking coding courses online before and I always found they lacked structure and ended up not seeing them through. The homework and project deadlines were exactly what I needed. Plus, Matt teaches in a very clear and concise way that makes it easy to understand new concepts. An enjoyable short course with many tips for making websites responsive to different devices as well as SEO friendly. Having the opportunity of working from a figma design for the final project was very fun and useful too.
This was my third SheCodes workshop, and I loved it! The final project we were learning to build was so much fun and so useful. I come out of this journey, not only with knowledge on how to make a website responsive but also with a portfolio I can update and use to share my work!
I had so much fun during the coding process, the classes were very simple to understand. Coding isn't as hard as they make it sound. The best part was working on my project.

I have been looking for a career change into the tech field but didn't know where to start. I came across SheCodes randomly during my search and after attended the informational webinar, I decided to give it a try. I am very happy with choosing SheCodes, the courses are well thought out and fairly easy to follow. Coding absolutely requires practice but SheCodes made it easy with their weekly assignments and final projects. I plan to continue my coding journey with SheCodes and hope to finally land a job as a web developer.

SheCodesPlus opens a new world for bigenners. In this workshop you can learn more advance css and javascript, how you can use Apis to get useful data and you learn about git and hosting. Final Project shows how you can build an useful app with the workshops content. Matt explains everything very good but It is very important to practice what matt teaches. With this workshop you can completely build practical websites.
SheCodes PLUS definitely deepened my understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript. As I powered through the challenges and homework, I felt grateful for Matt's instruction. Now that I completed SheCodes plus in its entirety with my new improved coding skills, I am ready to take on small projects and begin my freelancing career. Great workshop! There are challenges to get you to practice and work through the material consistently. SheCodesPlus culminates in one big project that Matt helps you through step by step, while giving you the space to bring your own creativity to the table. Can't wait for React!
Once again, I enjoyed working on my project! I feel a lot more comfortable with HTML and CSS in this course. It's amazing to learn about responsive techniques, very interesting to see what is behind the pages we use every day. This makes me even more excited for the next step!

I came into this workshop not knowing anything about coding and I will admit I was super nervous that I wouldn't understand enough for the final project. Even after finishing the first two homework assignments I was worried I wouldn't finish my project in time. If this happens to you please keep going! Once I started working on the final project I realized that I retained way more information than I thought and I cant wait to start the next workshop!
Again this workshop was amazing, super fun and with really usefull tools that can be applied to everyday projects. I cann't wait to start the last workshop

SheCodes is a great program! It has helped me understand computer languages and science. I run my own website so it has been helping me understand how to manage the backend of my development as well as communicate with my team developer when working on new projects:)
I liked the fact that the course had structure and deadlines. Really helpful in making sure I kept up with the course. The support team was brilliant and amazing at what they do. I did find bits of it slow or tedious - but I actually enjoyed the final project. I will be continuing on to the next course. would recommend for complete beginners. the way Matt talks you through step by step really helps you focus. Would definitely need more time to practise and internalise but like he said...google things you don't understand..watch more videos/youtube etc to help. thanks team SheCodes
3 months ago I didn't even know how to write a single line of HTML and now I've created 4 projects with SheCodes! I just turned 42- you are never to old to start something new. Matt and the SheCodes team are absolutely amazing. This is unlike any other bootcamp or workshop you may have tried before. The video's are structured in a way that anyone can learn. The community of teaching assistants Slack and other students are always there to help with any questions. The timing of the workshops can be done around any schedule - work, school kids if you have 15 minutes you have time for SheCodes. Thank you to Matt and the entire team for helping pursue new career opportunities.
This has been an amazing learning experience. I had a limited knowledge of coding beforehand but remembered how much I enjoyed it in school. It would benefit my career so I decided to take the courses. Best decision ever! Cannot recommend SheCodes enough. Great teachers, helpful community, and fun projects. There isn't a great way for me to put it into words so I'll say this. I have worked all types of jobs exploring what I am interested in and what keeps me coming back, SheCodes showed me what it is that lights me up. The pace of the lessons and projects, the amount of information I've learned and, one of the biggest things for me, the troubleshooting. We don't learn how to take the easy way out which has helped me have a better understanding of everything we have learned. It's so wild. I've looked for all kinds of different "classes" or whatever but this is the one. Y'all are the best π€
Living in an increasingly digitalised world, it's important to continuously improve your digital skills. This course gave me a really good insight into the coding world and enabled me to complete a coding project independently. Despite it being a basic coding course, it has given me more than just the possibility to create a website; it piqued my interest in IT, contributed towards my problem-solving skills and broadened my digital understanding.
WOW - who would've thought that coding could be so much fun! The tutorials are super easy to follow, and for me it was actually truly helpful constantly having to hand in little tasks and a final project. A fully hands-on workshop! Can't wait for SheCodes PLUS to start next week πΎ
Building something like the final project with API and data was challenging, but I learned a lot. Therefore, I will do this course again to review the main points. The classes and methods are fantastic. I highly recommend it.
Having worked in digital projects before as a product analyst, I was always interested in actually start to code as well. I come from a health care background looking to transition to the digital and technological world. I saw many opportunities for bootcamps, self-paced studies, and other coding resources but what I loved about SheCodes is that it gave me structure. I am well capable of learning on my own, but because I am so new to the industry, I didn't know where to even start. SheCodes Basic was an amazing experience. The lectures are very straightforward and filled with all the information you will need to succeed in completing all the lesson challenges and final project. The video lectures never got too long and monotonous, Matt did a great job organizing and blocking certain topics and following it up with a hands on challenge. He also gave the solutions after each challenge with the opportunity to resubmit and correct your work if necessary. Help was always available through the Slack chat and a team member always responded within a timely manner. This course was a great introduction to solidifying my future plans. I will be continuing this journey and diving in deeper! Thank you Matt and Team for helping me understand this whole new world of computer language!

I found SheCodes structured enough for it to hold you accountable, but also fun and engaging. I am hoping to get onto the more advanced courses so I can learn more. I already had a bit of JS knowledge so the basics was not overly challenging, but I still enjoyed coding the project A LOT, it is my first real-looking webpage and I am quite happy with how it turned out!

Going through the workshop was pretty intense, for all the good reasons. I usually paused and asked myself how hard it would have been learning all that Java Script without an instructor who broke everything into reasonable bits that one can easily absorb and process. Matt has been such a great instructor. The Slack technical team was amazing too. Well, Slack is where I learnt from other SheCoders that it is OK to feel stuck while working on a project, and that there is no shame at SheCodes if you cannot piece everything together at a given time. We are all learning and supportive of each other. Definitely, SheCodes is the place to be for everyone willing to learn coding. Here's to, as Matt says, happy coding.

As someone who knew 0% on how to code, there were plenty of TikTok videos that stated coding as a fun, new career path. BUT it wasn't until I saw & attended a free SheCodes coding class that I was convinced coding can be fun, AND can be my new career path! Having completed the SheCodes Basics Workshop, I can confidently say I didn't feel alone in the learning progress whatsoever; fellow classmates from around the world along with reliable tech assistants who offered help in any challenge, or homework I was stuck on. Also the teaching materials were clear to understand, which is why I highly recommend beginners with zero skills in coding to take the SheCodes Basics Workshop! Now that I've built my first project, I'm excited to know what's in store for SheCodes Plusπ€©

Everything about SheCodes has been amazing!!! The classes, the challenges, and the PROJECT! It took me a while to understand JavaScript, but after all the classes I have seen massive improvement from my end.
A good way to work on a new project and to add some new front-end competences :) I tried also to use Vectornator for the graphic content.
This was a good experience. The lessons are well explained and beginner friendly. I personally commend the fact that we had to build a whole project from scratch on our own.

SheCodes Basics was an amazing beginner-friendly program. I really enjoyed it! I enrolled in this program with somewhat knowledge of coding but never applied anything to projects until now. This program was very well structured and definitely gave you a ton of resources for help. Overall, I would definitely recommend!
I've had so much fun working on this project! It has been a welcome creative output in between classes and exams. I'm very excited to use the tools I've learned and basic HTML, CSS and JS to create other projects in the future. As always, the instruction videos are wonderful, but for this project I've found the lovely support team on Slack to be especially helpful. The team at SheCodes were also very approachable to get extensions etc. during exam season.

I have to admit that I did struggle with time management when trying to do SheCodes, going to college, and working a full-time job. As of now, I am happy to have submitted my SheCodes Basics project and hopefully in the future I'll continue to make updated changes on it. SheCodes is by far the best kind of workshop that I've ever experienced. I am glad that I found this whole community for women to pursue their passions in web development.

This coding workshop was exciting as I could not wait for the next lesson and to build my final project afterwards. The weather app was quite a challenging project π . Javascript isn't easy, but in the end, I'm very happy with the results. I had so much fun designing and developing this app, and I can't wait to start my next project.

Really enjoyed SheCodes, it was my first real experience of coding, the videos and lessons were clear and easy to understand.
