At times it was so confusing I felt like I was losing my mind but I did genuinely enjoy this workshop and am satisfied with how my project came out. I really enjoyed these lessons. It was like a walk through memory lane from what I learned in High School yet I only remembered some of the JavaScript stuff. Helped a lot and it made me create a project that I could show in my portfolio too.
This is the beginning of a great adventure in the world of virtual creativity. This experience with SheCodes is a well-thought-out project for women, and learning is very easy to learn.
I really enjoyed the basic course from SheCodes. It was well structured, easy to follow and I loved the challenges in between to always practice what you just learned. Only minus point was that in the last week you do not learn anything new. You are completely working on the final project.
This React course was the most challenging of the workshops, but I got a real kick out of finding solutions to create the different apps. It's a great follow-on from the Plus course, as it takes a lot of the JS knowledge acquired and shifts it to show how to set up clean, efficient code in the component model. It's also given me a push to re-engage with JS and learn more with further projects. Would definitely recommend!
The courses videos were broken into easily digestible pieces which build on top of each other, before you know it you know how to design and build your own web page! They have requirements for the final project which means that unless you copy the demo site code and functionality you do not pass. They list the functionality they require but not the specific order they want it in and if you do not follow the order that they require you fail and have to resubmit.
I love this course and I found it very useful with good exercises to practice. Matt explains in a very nice way which makes things easier to understand, since I was never the technical person. I love learning new things, it was a lot of fun and the course was much better than expected, I was very happy to see the results of my projects. Working as a Recruiter, this course already helped me a lot to have a better idea of what my tech colleagues do in a regular basis.
Started as someone with zero coding knowledge, as a homemaker. Within days I'm surprised at my capability to submit my final project today. It was very challenging but a lot of fun. Matt does a fantastic job of thoroughly walking you through every step of the learning process. I Highly recommend this course for anyone who wants to start their journey in coding.

A good course, however it's probably best served after all other courses available, as it may reference projects you have not yet completed. The portfolio site you end up making is nice and clean.

This was my favourite course so far! I loved being able to design and then code my own website, and seeing the final project made me realise how far I had come in these three courses. React here I come!
The instructions are clear and easy-to-understand for a complete newbie like me. Lessons are well-organized with notes conveniently provided. Projects are suitable for beginner level, with step-by-step walkthroughs and sample solutions. I was able to seek help on my problems via Slack, as well as extend the deadlines when necessary. 10 out of 10!!!

The more and more I learn about coding the more intrigued I feel. I've always loved a good challenge and coding has definitely tested my patience but the feeling when something works is the greatest! This portfolio project has really put all my knowledge to the test and I've learned so much about myself. I now have the confidence to build other portfolios and responsive websites. I intend to keep practicing those skills by offering a helping hand to friends who may benefit from a website portfolio or responsive website. I've come so far since I first started in January and it's only the start! Next stop... React! I can't wait to continue learning on my coding journey!
I love it! Thought it would be harder, but the way of explaining and the lesson activities helps a lot. By the final project, it just that everything makes sense.

Learning React has been a great experience, very interesting, not without challenges, but definitely worth it. The final project was a great and fun way to practice all the tools learned. Now it's over, I wish the course had been a bit longer!
I highly recommend SheCodes for any individual who wishes to take charge of their own work and creativity. Learning coding has helped me better understand developers, and the challenges they might be facing. When I bought the course I was scared. Scared that I will find out that I don't get it. That's too difficult for me. That I will just waste money. I was wrong! turned out that I don't suck and I actually enjoy coding. At least at this stage, and that I want to learn more. I really liked classes with quick videos explaining and showing most important things. Although, almost at the end I realized that there are some extra info below the videosπ€¦ββοΈ. What works for me are challenges and weekly homework as well as the final project. I think it helps to learn better through the whole course step by step without being left with everything for the final project. I would definitely recommend the basic course to anyone. It's a great opportunity to test the water without investing big money into something we are not sure we want.
Being a full language and literature scholar and working in the editorial industry, I didn't think the free coding class would spark much interest in me. But I'm so glad I was wrong: I really connected with the essence of the project since the beginning, and especially with how Matt was able to transmit his knowledge for real beginners. Enrolling on SheCodes Basics gifted me with 3 full weeks of fun, honestly! I didn't feel like the content was "dumbed down", on the contrary: it was highly specific and relevant, yet understandable. I had loads of fun coding along with SheCodesRadio, and the challenges were real challenges: they put me against the wall and required me to deeply understand the materials, which was really fun for once. No pressure, just an entertaining dare. All in all: absolutely would recommend. 10/10 β
My best friend had recently begun to learn coding and I was excited for her but also not super familiar with what that meant as a career path. I happened across the free coding class from SheCodes and I was intrigued, if only to get a better understanding of what my friend is learning. The class really opened my eyes to what learning coding can do for a career pivot, especially for women. I decided to try the SheCodes basics course and I'm so excited to learn more! This platform really takes away the intimidation factor that I think scares away a lot of people. I have never considered myself a math or tech savvy person. This course has helped me focus on digesting the concepts, rather than getting caught up in self-conscious anxiety about whether I have enough technical understanding to do this. I also love that this course includes lots of challenges and projects that get the learner actively using the skills that are being taught. I also love that there is reliable online support to turn to when you get stuck and need help! This course has been so amazing and I love telling my other female friends about it in case they want to try it.

I learned so much in such a short amount of time, and I had the opportunity to create a project that suites my own interests. The guidance provided throughout this workshop has been so helpful and creates a wonderful sense of community despite this being an online workshop.
At times challenging, depending on how good you are at logical thinking, it was definitely a new way of having to think for me. But I'm overall happy with my project, and all the deadlines really helped as well.
Everything is really well explained. Everyone has been super helpful. The weather app project was a great challenge. I learned a lot.
This was an enjoyable experience! I didn't realize how much I had learned or how much I would understand at the end. This made starting the project a daunting task to me. Once I started my project, I realized I recognized a lot more code as I was putting together different elements and working through trail and error. It was fun to see that I was able to create so much and it's only been a few weeks!
I'm so grateful for this opportunity. Before SheCodes I've tried to navigate web development on my own, it wasn't at all easy and I very made little progress. My initial goal was to finish this workshop in a month, along the line I got stressed and frustrated. I took a lot of breaks, thankfully the workshop was very flexible, I was able to take my time to finally understand JAVASCRIPT. I'm very excited for the knowledge I've gathered and I'm looking forward to all the wonderful projects I'm going to create.
Initially, I was concerned about not being able to understand coding. So I had been postponing this learning milestone for a long time. When I started with SheCodes, I selected 3 weeks for the basics, and still, I thought I would need some extensions. The 10th day has passed, and I've already completed the last project. What is truly amazing is how SheCodes simplify the complex process of learning such a difficult skill. I am very proud to be a part of this group now. I started SheCodes Basic just over a week ago and was having so much fun learning that I completed the course way too fast! I had never coded before and now I just built myself a cute little website for my final project! This has been a great introduction to the world of coding. The satisfaction from successfully completing each lesson 'challenge', the weekly homework, and the final project of creating a webpage from scratch that uses all the HTML, CSS, and Javascript components, has been rewarding.
I really had fun building my own project from scratch following the instructions in SheCodes Basics workshop. The course is interactive and easy to follow, and let you eager to learn more about more complex JavaScript functions and more!
It was incredibly stimulating when I tried opening my project on my phone and I saw that it was so well responsive... and that it was written by ME! Creating responsive websites is really no simple task, you need to pay attention to a lot of things. But it felt like a stimulating challenge, and I'm proud of what I created! I enjoyed this course tremendously! There are many free courses out there to learn the same material, but I felt it was worth it to pay to get my questions answered quickly and join a program with a well-thought out structure that holds you accountable. I think most people don't retain much from watching videos or doing short coding exercises - you learn from doing a complete project that means something to you, with a deadline! SheCodes delivers on this.

So far, so good! I've already completed a HTML and CSS course on Udemy which was great but mostly follow alongs. I have also tried my hand at The Odin Project, which for me was a bit too intense. I feel like this is a great middle ground!
A really fun but challenging workshop. I'm amazed at how much I've learned and how much more there still is to go. I rewrote my final project 3 times, each one becoming easier to organize and plan than the previous.

Learning indepth bootstrap makes writing html and css so much faster. My portfolio project looks great on my phone, tablet and computer.

About a month ago, a friend of mine mentioned how she was going to start a course in coding, created especially for women. I have to admit, at first I only checked the SheCodes website out of curiosity, but after the free coding class I was hooked! I had to try it! And let me tell you, I am so glad I did! Lately I have been trying to get myself out of my comfort zone as much as possible and this is the first time ever that I purchase and finish a course, completely unrelated to the field that I have studied in. After just having finished my final project, I feel over the moon, proud of myself and I look forward to continuing my coding studies in the nearest future. I had never thought of finished a project like this on my own as I thought the coding was like a monster or a great giant to me. Thanks to this course, Matt, and also the learners from the community, I can finally finish this "Mission Impossible". Coding is really fun and just like problem-solving. With the coding foundation, I have more confidence to explore more coding in the future!
I had such a fun time with the SheCodes Basics Workshop. Matt makes it super easy to follow and I loved the little mini projects throughout the first two weeks - it really makes you put what you've learned into practice. While I only had time for the 3-week workshop, I'll probably come back to do one of the longer workshops later down the road. I found these workshops some time ago, I was hesitant but I am glad I finally joined. Explanations are easy to understand and super didactic. I liked that the whole workshop was very hands-on, with the challenges after each lesson, the homeworks, and the final project.
Very easy to understand and follow along! I have a limited background in programming but with Matt's help, was able to learn the basics of web design. He's a great instructor and besides his videos, he also offers resources for you to use on your own projects. I definitely would recommend this to anyone who wants to get started in web design but has no idea where to start. All the students have access to a Slack as well where we can ask questions and receive help from the SheCodes staff or even each other. Learning something new doesn't feel so intimidating knowing that other students might be running into the same problems as you are. I just finished SheCodes Basics and can't wait to get started on SheCodes Plus!
I took this course on a whim not knowing anything about coding. I knew it would be challenging, but I never thought I would love it as much as I do! The curriculum was well taught and easy to follow and the challenges, homework, and final project were fun! I was able to create something completely from scratch that I never thought I could create! 3 months ago I did not know anything about coding and now I finished my first project and it feels great to learn and achieve something new! Compared to Basics, Plus workshop was of course bit more challenging but I went back to the videos and followed Matt and I could make everything work in the end. I can't wait to continue with the React workshop!
I really enjoyed learning about responsive web design and how to make websites SEO friendly. The final project was a great way to put everything we've learned so far together and create our own websites.
I started learning coding with SheCodes 6 months ago. I submit my final project today, and the journey has been life changing. 6 months ago, I had zero idea how to write an h1 but today, I submit a fully functional dictionary app I coded from scratch. This React workshop gained me so much knowledge that I thought wouldn't be possible. This is my third course with SheCodes. I've learned so much since I have started my SheCodes journey back in January. SheCodes Responsive was really awesome and I learned a ton. I cannot wait to finish off with SheCodes React. The best part about Responsive is having the final project be a portfolio that I will be able to use once I am ready to start applying to jobs.
While I am excited and thankful for the final weather app project, I believe that the Week 04 and 05 modules should be retooled. There is much to learn about JavaScript and it feels as though those two weeks in particular for Plus are too dense and could easily be broken into two sections each. If SheCodes could also experiment with how they display lessons, this would be beneficial for those that learn in different ways. Showing VSCode constantly while building the code but not showing how facets like different JavaScript rules or CSS declarations flow into each other became confusing in some instances. There was also a discrepancy in recording volume between the weeks and even modules within each week so sometimes it was difficult to hear Matt's instructions. The Team that works on Slack to answer questions and give guidance continue to be informative and empathetic, to which I am grateful. A cool piece to build, the overall presentation and class flows could use some updating.
I loved this course so much. I've done so many different, "self-paced" coding courses, and not a single one of them compared to this. Everything was made so clear, and the fact that I was able to do a final project like this, from scratch, is beyond me. I have no words to express how thankful I am for SheCodes

The way Matt teaches is so engaging and motivating, plus the Slack channel with fellow students ensures you can keep each other accountable in completing the projects. I learned a lot during SheCodes Responsive. Finally the projects look good when I resize the window or open them on mobile devices - that was frustrating to me before.

Previously I tried to educate myself on learning how to Code from other Website, but unfortunately I found the information given was very overwhelming and I believed to myself that maybe I'm just not cut out to learn this set of skills, until I came across SheCode where they offered a Basic Course that is offered at a reasonable price, just to figure out whether this is something I could learn or not, and it figures out that I am capable! The Project was so much fun!!
