Learning React was challenging and I'd like to thank Matt for creating lessons and challenges that really helped me understand the structure and flow of data in React. He also had encouraged me to look into third-party state managements & I had successfully learned how to implement one into my weather app. I love that this workshop contained two projects as it gave me the opportunity to improve my coding skills and add a dictionary applications to my portfolio. An absolutely brilliant introduction to coding! Matt explains everything in such a way that it just makes sense. The course layout is methodical, allowing you to follow a 'building block' style of understanding.
I highly recommend SheCodes courses. I got thorough knowledge from zero to basic Graduated from the SheCodes Basic. The teacher was great! Many thanks to the Matt. Everything is so structured and accessible! Many thanks for the material and its presentation. These are not boring lessons, but a lot of practice and nice mood. The teacher can explain complex things in simple words and has excellent speaking skills, he keeps his attention throughout the lecture, there is no boring academic language. It was one of the best learning experiences I had, at SheCodes with Matt. The classes are very interactive and expand our knowledge. Having had no experience in Coding, this introduction was everything I was looking for to dive into learning about Coding without feeling overwhelmed or intimidated by what I didn't know or by what others do know. I personally loved the format of this workshop-so very well thought out for online learning and Matt is an excellent instructor. I'm extremely happy that I opted to invest in SheCodes Pro and I am looking forward to learning more!
So far, I've been having a great experience with SheCodes. Matt explains things very clearly, and the videos are pretty easy to follow. I personally take a little longer to understand things; so I make sure to watch each video twice and write notes when he drops nuggets. I'm having a lot of fun; and though some techniques can be tricky, it's a very accomplishing feeling once you get the hang of it!

The beginners coding workshop was perfect for someone like me, looking to see if coding was something they were interested in pursuing. I enjoyed the other SheCodes workshops (Basic and Plus), but the React workshop was very disappointing. The help from the SheCodes Slack channel was pretty apathetic - my questions and the questions of other students were often "answered" with really short and thoughtless responses that made it clear that the team was not actually looking very closely at our issues. At the time of writing this testimonial, React is on version 18, but Matt is teaching version 16 after making a big to-do about always teaching us the latest version. The changes between the two aren't that significant, but they were significant enough that it made completing challenges more difficult than they should have been. I am also appalled at how often I have heard "just Google it" during this course. I paid to learn React, have someone walk me through the terminology, and follow a step-by-step guide, NOT to read forum after forum of coding jargon I don't understand. It was also very disheartening to have to complete a weather application YET AGAIN after going through it once (or twice, if you count the last two weeks of the program) in the Plus course. All in all, I did learn about React during this course, but I feel completely unprepared to tackle it in any scenario outside of a weather app.
This is amazing!!! A couple of months ago, I had a vague idea about programming. Now I can make the site the way I want. Coding is a very exciting process! I am very grateful to Matt Delac and his team for the opportunity to receive this necessary and useful knowledge.

React has been really interesting to dive in, and we can also take the chance to improve the weather app we did from the Plus workshop!
